The big fight between Batman and Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice almost took place at a different location.

A fan on Twitter shared a photo of some concept art (pictured above) that he saw at the DC Exhibition in the UK. He tagged director Zack Snyder and cinematographer Larry Fong, and Fong replied. "We originally planned on filming there but then were told the buildings were going to be demolished."

The building in the concept art is the Park Avenue Hotel in Detroit, Michigan. It was indeed demolished in 2015. You can watch it implode in the video below.

The Batman/Superman brawl was kinda disappointing overall, but I do appreciate the concept. I like that Superman, even though he lost was the one who achieved the moral victory. Still, even though I never and will never have a problem with "Martha!!" , I do believe that the easy solution would have been to allow Superman to beat Batman in the fight and his show of mercy would be the clincher that would get Batman to snap out of his rage-daze.

  Yeah, I'm with you there. Oddly enough I loved most of the movie apart from the actual Batman V Superman fight scene between, well, Batman and Supes. To me it felt like Zack and Chris Terri got so into the philosophical discussion whether there should be a superman and got so into the story they forgot "Wait, these guys have to fight". Maybe they couldn't figure out a natural way to start it off. Either way it doesn't break the movie experience for me, I still love BVS (Ultimate Edition of course).

    I do appreciate the rationale. People expected Batman and Superman to fight over philosophical differences, but Snyder rationalized that there's no way a battle between Batman and Superman would work if Superman's heart was truly "into" the fight. The fact that Superman is the one who really doesn't want to fight Batman automatically eases up on the whole premise of the fight because he doesn't actually desire to fight Batman and is only doing so out of desperation. It isn't until his life is literally in danger that he starts "trying."

      Even one YouTuber pointed out that Superman and Batman have fought each other multiple times simply because a villain was manipulating them behind the scenes. It’s just that their most famous brawl was a philosophical one. Even Civil War went from being philosophical to “He killed my mom”.

        Yeah but there's usually logic behind the fights, take Hush for example where Bat's and Supes fight, there's a tons of logic with the fight and isn't at all forced and there's no for bias for either hero. BvS though the logic is shit, Bat's is giving the upper-hand too much and Supes could have ended the fight before it begun by super speeding over to Bats and ripping his armor off and making him listen. That could have been all forgiving if the fight itself was any good but as it is its one of the worst action scenes Snyder has made.
        As for Civil War well there's a great deal more to that fight then "He killed my mom". Tony just watched his parents being brutally murdered by a man standing right beside him and one of his best friends has admitted he knew about it but never told him, if you actually follow Stark's character at all in the MCU you should know mentally he can be pretty unstable and reacts badly when things happen he doesn't like, even in that very film he blasts Falcon unconscious straight away because of what happened to Rhodey. That whole fight in Civil War at the end felt completely in character for everyone and had a ton of logic behind, its also a fight whats brutal and uncomfortable to watch and a fight not concerned with making its characters look cool and badass.

        Dude the reason why Superman doesn’t get much of the upper hand because that means the fight is basically over. They show this once the first batch of gas wears off. If Batman only had batch of gas, he would’ve lost and had been at Superman’s mercy. When you have a character facing an OP character, you either let the obviously OP character win or you cheat by having the plot help the other character.
        I don’t care if Tony was surrounded by millions of screens that played his parents’ death on a loop. Civil War destroyed his established character with that garbage. He INTENTIONALLY ignores the bad guy who’s mocking him, just to focus on Bucky. Give me a fucking break. Tony’s character was on a decline after Avengers where from IM3 to Civil War, he got stupider and stupider. And now I’m supposed to feel bad for the “He killed my mom”? Bullshit.
        That fight scene lacked all logic once even before the fight actually started, since you’re wondering how in the hell Tony and BP caught up with Steve & Bucky

        You actually watch these films? Because Tony acted completely in character in those scenes and all films and sorry but if you watched a video of someone brutally murdering your parents or loved ones and that guy who done it was right beside you and one of your best friends also there said he knew but didn't say then yeah you would of acted somewhat the same as Tony like most people would. Honestly that's the type of statement what comes from a teen who has yet to experience actual life.
        As for what you say about BvS well yeah of course you would defend it but find a ton of reasons for why a Marvel got it wrong. End of the fucking day if you actually read any Batman and Superman fights then you would know all the best ones had a degree of logic as to why Batman can hold his own against Superman, both Hush (the best fight) and TDKR gave reasons as to why Superman doesn't just end the fight or kill Bats. BvS on the other hand had a least a few mins where Supes could have just ended it before Bats could do jackshit to him, again fly over fast, rip of his armor and toys, grab him and fly high up and then explain what Luthor is doing.

        No. Instead of having him man up and act like an adult that he used to be like at the end of IM 1, character development, you instead have him act like a petulant man-child. Would I be upset if I was in his position? Yeah, but I wouldn’t attack Bucky since I KNOW THAT HE WAS BEING MIND-CONTROLLED.

        If you liked how bvs played out, then you shouldn't have a problem with civil war, especially since it was done way better. The hypocrisy is real, the fight between cap and bucky/cap felt real and not forced like bvs. The heroes had history together even though they didnt see eye to eye most of the time, and having cap being in the middle of it all brings so much more tension than the bvs fight.

        It doesnt matter, he watched bucky killing his parents rigbt in front of him, while the guy his been working with for years knew the truth, not to mention he acted on impulse.
        Bats on the other hand, had plenty of time to use his brain and due a little detective work on supes before orchestrating his murder, instead he built a whole bunch of traps. Supes was saving people all over the world, and bats never even try to have a conversation with him...oh, let me kill the guy that saves people because he "might" turn evil one day, only to throw that logic away because of "martha", which doesn't change the fact that he can still turn bad anyways.

        That's what made it real, they all knew they were being manipulated but that didn't went through their heads. Tony was fighting for "justice" while Bucky literally fought for his life and Cap fought for his best friend's survival. It had blood, it had beatdowns and comebacks, heck it even had a dismemberment! The BvS fight? Not a drop of blood, just two heroes trading slow blows in turns and resorting to sinks.

        Easy to talk when you're not in that position. To be honest, I'm not sure I would have been able to keep my temper. Did Tony know Bucky was being mind controlled? Well, he was TOLD that. And he was told that by Steve, the same man who decided to keep in secret the fact that his mother was brutally murdered.

        You want to know what I'm certain about? That I would have been able to say a few more lines other than "Listen to me" and "You don't understand" if I was in Superman's skin during that confrontation scene.

        I just said that I would be upset, but I wouldn’t take my anger out on Bucky. If Tony didn’t know about the mind-control, then I would be okay with his outburst. But he did know, and still attacked him. And yeah Steve kept the secret from him, but does he truly think that Steve would be helping Bucky if he knew that Bucky was in control of his actions?

Remember Tony is not part of the audience that knows the whole story of Cap. America and how he would never do something of this kind.

        Plus tony had thought the whole time his parents death was a car accident and not an assassination. Then to find out Cap knew the whole time. Of course tony would lose his shit and be emotionally unstable at the time. Its actually really logical and would actually make no sense if he didn’t react to it the way he did in the movie

I said you were acting like a teen because your response is that of a person who has yet to face and understand what real grieve is and how it can cloud your judgement and make you act of character. Fact is Tony is an unstable character mentally and acts out when things happen he can't deal with, cope with or get rid off, every IM film has show that along with both Avengers and of course Civil War,
        What makes me laugh is you try and fail to tear down a character believably grown and developed over 10 years so when he acts out you know why (you clearly fail to understand mental health or how Tony works so you of course don't know why) but defend every action Superman and Batman make in BvS despite how dumb lot of it is.
        As for being in your 20s well make your mind up, not long back you implied to still be at school so yeah again make your mind up.

        Ok fair enough but you should then understand as to why Tony acts the way he does and you have got to remember Tony has mental health issues and can't deal with things he can't control. I actually wish the MCU would explore Tony's metal health problems more but as that would be too dark they don't.

  I would have liked them to drive it home that Supes was not going to kill Bats. It was just a one liner telling him to stay down so it made the whole thing just one sided. More in line with the graphic novel would have been great. Bruce stop.. this is idiotic.. etc. Scene was way too short thats for sure and Supes falling for the same trick twice still irks me every single time I see it. He should have swatted that second round into orbit. Only gripe I have with this movie.

    Actually, I liked the fact that Bruce was in it for the kill. It wouldn't be prudent for Bruce to just want to teach Clark a lesson in humility since his character motivations were completely different from the comic. In the comic, Bruce's actions are benevolent and he's the one we root for. In the movie, though he's the "protagonist," he's painted as being "in the wrong" which is partially one of the many reasons I really liked BvS - it inverted TDKR by switching Superman and Batman's roles. Instead of Batman being scrutinized by the media and the government, it's Superman. Instead of Batman being the one victimized and "dying" in the end, it's Superman who is victimized and Superman's the one who gave his life up.
    It was almost as if Zack, despite his blatant love for Frank Miller, still gave him the middle finger for his mischaracterization of Superman as a government lapdog who willingly killed soviets by the thousands and took out and betrayed his former friends and teammates because he was a "yes-man".

    It would have at the very least been a good way to throw Superman fans a bone after all the tired Bat-worship. I know Superman achieved the moral victory, but to achieve both would have been super-satisfying.

I can’t believe there are people on twitter going to Geoff Johns and others on how they are the reason why the DCEU movies flopped and defending Zack Snyder and talking about how they ruined his vision. Lmao. I’m like what the hell is wrong with these people, they are so blinded by this hack Snyder. It’s like he was having masterpieces all this time but we are like too blind to appreciate it. Sounds like some cult going on in here. Facts are, he was nothing before all this, all his movies sucked and had mixed reviews at best. Joss Whedon movies were/are way better, I just hoped he was there from the beginning for JL, instead of that douche. I bet it would have been way better.

  Look, I'm not going to say that I agree on pointing fingers to other names apart from WB suits/decisions, but for people who actually liked what Snyder was doing it surely felt like they "ruined" their vision as we couldn't see the actual ending he planned for his trilogy.
  We could argue that it could have been worse or better or liked/disliked by many ad nauseam, but the point is that at least we could have seen a complete trilogy, and now JL feels like a disjointed piece and doesn't fit well enough with what went before. Again, fan or not, that was a bad movement on the movie and director, regardless of who are the actual responsible for that.
  On a side note, Whedon could or couldn't have done it better, even he has more credentials with the critics community we can't deny he can also have issues within his films. AoU wasn't nearly as good as the first Avengers was. And before BvS Snyder wasn't seen as a "hack" at all. In fact, I could argue his movies are more popular within the GA than Whedon's. Yes, Whedon has a great following, but I'd say that following falls in the geek community category, as I don't see many of his projects being that mainstream, but maybe Avengers or Buffy

    I agree, WB should have let Snyder complete his shitty JL. I am most certain it would have bombed even more than the WB reshoot version. Snyder would have at least had a trilogy that was a complete shitshow and something Snyder cultist can put on their shelf beside their lit Snyder-Jesus candle.
    I also think there was more at play in the background that caused his abrupt firing, Geoff's new version of the DCEU vs The Snyder's previous mapped-out version. I would rather have seen that movie. The studio OK'd Geoff's and when Snyder turned in his "unwatchable" JL version, it wasnt' meshing with Geoff's new plan for DC. That is my theory anyway. It will take a whistleblower to ever know the real truth, I am afraid.

    Actually if you go deep into Whedon's work, you will know he has written a lot of successful stuff like Toys Story. He was nominated for an Oscar for his writing. Something Zack will never come close to. All his vision was visuals and mindless action. WB have put so much faith on him, even after his movies flopped.

      I wouldn't agree on the mindless action part but his films are pretty much just visuals, even his "build up" and "plot" scenes he can't help but shove some pointless symbolism into the shot to make the films seem smarter then they are. If you do symbolism in your films you better make sure its a great film and what has depth because otherwise it makes you look pretentious and egocentric what Snyder actually is. As for action well BvS could done with an actual scene in its early stages considering its a Batman and Superman film, the fact we never got a big heroic action scene of Superman saving people (think the plane scene of Superman Returns) shows Snyder doesn't understand the character.

I've said plenty of times i like Man Of Steel, i love Dawn and 300 and i like Watchmen and the DC of Sucker Punch. I think he's mediocre film director and he is but i have enjoyed a lot of his work still.
        As for Symbolism well as i said it only works when you have something special, BvS isn't special though and at most is loved by a very small number of people. I love Symbolism when its subtle but Snyder isn't subtle and it doesn't even add to the film, if anything it makes Snyder look like he has a big ego and thinks his films are high art.
        As for saving well that montage sucked, you had newsreaders questioning his existence, you had Supes looking moody as usual and the saving images were just that visuals. What the film needed was a big action scene what was purely Superman saving a group of people and inspiring people and giving them hope, it could have been a scene what showed the world why he's needed and it could off added so much audience investment into character and made Batman appear more unstable then he was. A few splash images what highlight nothing but pretty visuals what are more or less CGI is hardly good enough. Snyder needed something like that perfect panel of All Star Superman what shows us the viewers why Superman is a one of kind hero and is the guy you wish could save you in any situation and if you think you know Superman you will know exactly what panel i'm on about. End of the day Snyder tears the character down so much but does it without ever building him up first, it took a shitty hacked to death JL movie with really bad writing to give us a Superman who feels like Superman in the DCEU and that's pretty sad for the DCEU.

MOS was just a crappy build up, with the wrong message. It also wasn’t fun, and the movies and the tone of it was just depressing for a Superman character.         What is serious to you? I didn’t hate MOS because it had a dark tone, I actually liked DC for that, it’s more mature, but the movie had no balance. It gave up on fun, charisma, actual believable plot, wrong message about Superman. It didn’t give us the same Superman in the comics. I didn’t like the fact the whole movie is just about his parents, Louis Lane while others are an afterthought, no character development the right way. He destroyed half of the city in both MOS/BvB, don’t even try here, Snyder Batman motive was that Superman is reckless and not paying enough attention on the civilians. I can give you 20 bullet points on what’s wrong with Superman in Snyder vision.

They even took Superman to court for that. And you want to talk about not destroying the city. He let the court get bombed because he wasn’t paying attention, that’s what he said.         Actually, Tarantino directed 9 movies :p. Angel wasnt as big of a hit like buffy was, but it was still pretty successful and won a few awards nonetheless. Zack wasnt really known prior bvs, and the only popular movie he had with the g.a was 300.

As I said, Whedon is well-known in the geek community, not denying that, but GA audiences would recognice a Snyder film before a Whedon film (and just to be clear, I was talking about movies recognition, not director's names.         You can't pick and choose here, The Avengers are two of the most popular films of the 21st century and more popular then any of Snyder's films The only films what i would argue of his what are really popular by Snyder is 300 and to an extent Man Of Steel, BvS is largely disliked and is only well known because its a Batman and Superman film. Watchmen isn't that known with the GA, the movie didn't do great and they didn't respond well to it, its popular with comic book fans but that's it really.

  If I recall correctly, they builiding wasn't there, they just built the structure and the exterior façade was touched up a bit with CGI. The structure was divided into three sections so that it could fall gradually as we saw in the movie. Canons with hubris were set behind the fake windows so that more destruction could be seen

Nolan made Interstellar and Inception two films what are very sci-fi and you would be amazed on how much of them was shot for real with real stunts and real practical effects, that epic corridor fight in Inception for instance was 100% real.
        As for fights in the Nolan trilogy being "cringe worthy" yeah not really, Bats vs Bane first time was fucking fantastic and brutal. Bats assault on Falcone's men in Begins pretty much helped inspire the Arkham games. Then you have the Truck chase in TDK what is an amazing action scene.

The "Big Fight Scene", which was kind of laughable. A three hour movie (extended version) with a 15 minute fight scene that leftmost movie-goers scratching their head with the cheap plot device of ...MARTHA!! Not to mention the whole movie made Batman out of be an idiot, a Lex pawn, when Lex's big masterplan was kind of a no-brainer puzzle. The real Batman, which wasn't in this film, would have had Lex's plot figured out, along with Clark Kent's identity. Shitty writing.

        That was never stated in the movie, but in the prequel comics. Remember that Luthor is indeed a super-genious (it's slightly ahead of Bruce Wayne in DC canon if I recall well) Although I didn't like that Luthor knew their identities, I didn't mind them not revealing how, that usually happens at comics and it's not something out of character for Luthor. Indeed, in the Forever Evil story-arc he discovered Batman's identity too.
        On a side note, shouldn't you rewatch the movie? I mean, for someone who discuss it a lot shouldn't you know it more specifically? I've realised that there are a lot of people here complaining about things that were quite clear in the movie. I always wonder if people who complain so much about it actually saw it or just ignored things (not saying you are one of those)

        I agree that some of the things stated in the prequel comics should have been included in the movie (the part of the senator comes to mind). And yeah, it was intricate but not more non-sensical than any other supervillain's plot in movies or comics.

        I respect a devoted Batman fan, and unfortunately we don't have a lot on the big screen, besides Nolan's work, to fill our quench. The only thing I liked about BvS that I thought Snyder did well, because it was a purely action/visual feat, was the rescue scene of MARTHA in the warehouse. That was some good choreographed fighting with just enough Batman gadgetry. Other than that, complete shit movie. Lets hope Reeves gives us a better, no, a great Batman.

  Superman could EASILY beat the crap out of Batman in almost any given situation. Hell, it's already stupid enough that an intelligent tactician like Batman would armor himself up for a battle with a godlike being, yet leave half of his face exposed to the point where Superman could just poke his finger in Batman's mouth and the fight would be instantly over in a nanosecond.

    That’s why I was okay with the fight. Superman can easily win the fight, so the plot has to REALLY work against him. Even the final fight in Injustice 2 is guilty of this, despite the gold Kryptonite use.

    in fairness Supes is really weak in that fight with Bats in TDKR because of the Nuke what hit him, Bats even says he will be weaker because of that. Supes is holding back completely in the fight and Bats knows that and because of that exploits every weakness Supes has including the respect and friendship Supes has for Bats, its like in Hush when Batman sums them both up beautifully "I know that Superman could squash me like bug. But I know he won't. Because deep down Clark is a good person. And deep down I'm not", that right there is why Batman can believably beat Superman when written right.

      Superman is weaker from the nuke, yes, but he's not "weak" in of itself. He still easily tears off Batman's helmet and breaks his ribs without a struggle, so there's nothing stopping him from just ripping off Batman's entire armor. Like I said, you just have to turn off your brain to enjoy it, because Superman could have beaten Batman easily without physically harming him or killing him. It has nothing to do with "holding back". It has to do with being smart. And any time Superman faces Batman, the writers have to make him a dumb brute.

        Superman actually didn't want to end it like that, he didn't want to force Batman to surrender he wanted him to do it on his own. You also got to remember part of Superman didn't want to "win" the fight, he still looked at Bruce as a friend and he knew full well what would happen if he brought Bruce in to the Government. The fight in TDKR has a lot of weight and depth to it and is the only time in the story where Miller nails Superman.

        That's exactly my point. Miller made Superman an idiot - Clark knows that Bruce is a stubborn mule who doesn't give up. He could have ended the fight then and there, but he didn't because then the fight would be over and there'd be no story.
        Yes, Clark doesn't "want" to win as you said, but he isn't backing down from following his orders. The same kind of orders that led him to slice off Oliver's arm.
        So again, to really enjoy the fight, you still got to turn off your brain or else the logic of it will make no sense. Same with BvS. I can love the movie all I want, but obviously the logic that's driving the fight is hard to buy since, like TDKR, Superman could have just tore off Batman's armor and it'd be over.

        Superman acted like Superman in that fight though, Miller wrote him well in the fight and it was the only time Miller wrote him like Superman. Got to remember Bruce and Clark have a long complicated history and friendship and Miller shows that, if Superman ended the fight then Bruce would be killed by the Government because he defied them and embarrassed them and Clark knew that, he was conflicted because despite everything he considered Bruce a friend still (as the ending shows with Carrie), his heart was never in the fight and he was going through the emotions of it all, he either wanted Bruce to win or give up he never wanted to be the person who ended it and that feels believable for Clark when it comes to Bruce, yeah he done what he did to Ollie but Ollie isn't Bruce and Clark cares far more for Bruce then Ollie.
        There's plenty of logic to the fight like there is to all the best Bats Vs Supes fights, Miller explained why it happens the way it did and he leaves just enough for us to work out for our selves. Its the same for the Hush fight where Batman tells us why he can hold his own against Superman, end of the day out of all the JL Clark says the most dangerous one who posers the most threat to him is Bruce and that's why he gives Bruce Green K for the time if it happens he ever goes bad.

  Oh, and Supes was told by that lady during his investigation earlier that Batman would only listen to fists, so he’s predisposed to believe that, too.

Honestly the fight scene would have made much more sense, if Zack actually spent the whole time putting out multiple reasons, build the events until that fight. That would have been interesting and fun to watch, it wasn’t a good build up. It wasn’t fun. Zack doesn’t understand storytelling. He should have spent the time making them investigate on each other more. So that we care. I didn’t ever care if supes was going to die in any of the Snyder movies, he was always been an ass in his vision. Also the Martha thing is just stupid, it was clearly forced. The intent was clear but the execution was terrible. There shouldn’t be any flashbacks, they could have had a scene where Superman investigate Batman case and sees the name of his parents and sees Martha. Sups could say “save my mother save Martha”. I mean in the movie, it felt like supes wanted to die, so he’s like let’s trigger this b*tch by saying his dead mothers name lol.

It should have never taken place.
The conflict was dumb for several reasons:
- It was fueled by an irrational Batman and Martha being kidnapped. Superman didn't even want to fight.
-It was not a battle of ideologies. It wasn't light vs. dark, day vs. night. It was a fight fueled by dumb reasons. Civil War on the other hand did have a battle of ideologies between the Avengers. And the the final Iron Man vs. Cap/Bucky battle was fueled by absolute rage and feelings of betrayal. That fight carried a lot of emotion, unlike BvS, which was "I have to kill him because he might turn bad one day" and "I have to fight him cuz Martha".
-The characters acted dumb. Superman had a million ways to tell Batman his mom was in danger. He could have told him from the air. But instead he did his cool superhero landing to fuel the hostility with Batman (when that's the last thing he should be looking for). He could have told him after he dropped Batman, but instead he said "Stay down, if I wanted it, you'de be dead already". He could have told him after he recovered from the kryptonite gas, but instead he cracked a douchey smile at Batman. Dude, do you want to look like a badass or save your mother? Seriously, that was so dumb.
-The fight itself was lame as hell. It was short and it was barely a fight and more of a one sided ass kicking. It lacked creativity. You had Superman falling for the same trick twice. Just lame. And don't even get me started on how the fight ended....just lol.
Civil War's final battle on the other hand was amazing and had some very cool moments. Iron Man analyzing Cap's fight pattern during battle was pretty cool. Bucky getting his arm blown away was cool and unexpected. Even little details like Iron Man eyeballing his shot to trap Bucky was pretty cool. At the end you had Cap ground and pounding the crap out of Iron Man and leaving him all bloodied up on the ground. THAT'S A BADASS fight. Not cheese stuf like "Martha"
Seriously, I absolutely love Superman and Batman. If 10 years ago you told me I would like a fight between Cap and Iron Man more than a fight between Batman vs. Superman I would have called you crazy. But seriously, they weren't even close.

By the way i've seen plenty of comic book sites what cover everything comic book talking about Marvel films quite a lot, the reason the comments don't amount to much is because a lot of them don't use Disqus and no one likes to comment that much when its not Disqus.
    Anyone cry more because Black Panther is bigger the any Batman film and cry when Infinity War breaks box office reconds, is loved by the majority, gets great reviews, makes well over a billion and destroy's any movie released near it.

  The last paragraph rings true for me as well. I am not a Marvel comic reader, or fan. I may have read a few Spider-Man comics back in the day, but that was it. It irks me every time I want to watch a good superhero movie, I have to turn to Marvel. I usually end up enjoying most of them. BTW, I have watched Nolan's trilogy so many times I can recite every line. I know Marvel does use Disney's cookie-cutter formula a lot, but even with that, it is still better than all the movies in the DCEU so far, except WW.

  Half the characters in Civil War had nothing to do there, they just showed up cause Avengers 2.5.
  Though the final duel had reasons behind it, the airport battle was a clash between those who wanted to follow laws and those who didn't, and by destroying the airport I guess they all disobeyed the law, so the logic is exactly the same both in CW and in BvS : in order to stop the danger one has to be the danger, that's why Batman had to kill Superman and there is no valid argument for defending one and attacking the other.
  And unlike BvS's final battle where there are consequences (even though we knew because of the Extended Universe that Superman would be revived), the final battle in CW left things unchanged (except some prisoners).

    Iron Man was authorized to stop Cap and co. by US secretary Thaddeus Ross, so they were not really breaking the law. The airport had also been evacuated and so was the place where Batman and Superman fought. I don't think you understood the movies, lol.

    BvS final battle was against Doomsday. I'm strictly talking about the fight between Batman and Superman, and that fight had no consequences. They were on the same side at the end of their fight, while the Avengers were split up.

      Iron Man fought Cap and Bucky, who happened to fight Black Panther, those are the only once who should have been fighting. Every other character is just there because they follow the movie stars. I understand for Falcon and War Machine because they kind of are the sidekicks, but Vision, Witch, Hawkeye and as you mentioned Ant and SPidey don't have anything to do there.
      I don't think you understood my point, lol.
      It doesn't matter which fight I am talking about, indeed the "vs" had no consequences but at the end of the movie there were changes, unlike CW because regardless of their "separation" it was clearly shown that they were still together despite the fight.
      And yes, Superman's death served the purpose of creating the JL, while the Avengers being locked up and off to Wakanda doesn't serve anything for the moment. You might say it will because that way they'll be able to defend Wakanda from Thanos but regardless of them (Cap, Bucky) already being there we see that half the Avangers go to Wakanda to protect it.

        Again, the Sokovia Accords concerned all of the Avengers. No character was indispensable (other than the main ones), but there was nothing wrong with their presence. Like I said the only one that felt forced was Spider-Man.

        It does matter. Civil War's final fight was between the superheros, so you can't really compare it with BvS final battle. When it comes to the hero vs. hero fight, BvS had absolotule no consequence.
        And you know what else had no consequence? Zod's death. You would expect Superman having to kill would change him in some way, but it didn't. As far as we know, Superman is still willing to kill in BvS.

        When it comes to hero vs hero fight, depending on the definition of consequences, both had the same one : CW went from friends to foes, whereas the contrary happened in BvS. But it's hard to have consequences when there are no stakes (in BvS nothing would have changed regardless of the winner : Batman keeping branding criminals and Superman keeping fighting injustice, and this because they were nothing to one another, opposite of CW).
        I'm sorry to use Marvel as a counter argument but technically you started talking about CW to criticize BvS : while I did felt Zod's death had consequence (on the ethics of Superman), aren't most Marvel deaths without consequence too ? There are absolutely no proofs that Superman is willing to kill again (Doomsday doesn't count of course), he even tries to talk Batman out of the fight.
        I'm not saying Superman's death was meaningful and emotional and stuff, I'm just saying him being dead allowed the JL to be created, whereas the Avengers being separated doesn't help anything.

        I didn't bring the consequence argument. To me a fight can have a resolution and that's it. Stakes don't define how good a confrontation is.
        He was willing to kill Batman. He says so in the movie. So again Superman will kill if he doesn't have a choice like in MoS.

He tried telling Bats multiple times, and that was in the midst of being barraged with attacks and also having to constantly hold back his rage and willingness to put Bats in his place AND his preconceived notion that Batman will only listening to fists anyway based on what that lady told him during his investigation earlier, and informing him he didn’t want to kill him was just as essential as telling him about Martha. The whole situation was handled about as realistically as it could’ve been.
  - False. It was 2-sided. People complained about how long it was, so you can’t complain both ways fool. As for what serves the story better, shorter fight is best anyway, since anyone who actually watches will be more concerned about Martha than seeing a WWE match. The resolution was brilliant.

  Wow, now this I can appreciate. Feel the same about the "dumb reasons" of bvs, but don't really feel the same about civil war, way too much plotholes for all the praise it gets. Spiderman was way too shoehorned in it, if you compare it with WW's inclusion in bvs. He was just a kid with 6 month experience in pajamas, while Stark has Vision. Also a camera in the middle of the woods that captured the entire assassination of stark's parents?? If winter soldiers were such a myth, they would've shot the cameras first.

    I agree that Spider-Man was shoehorned. To me he was the worst part of the movie.
    The security camera was placed outside a barbed wired fence, not exactly in the middle of the woods. Plus Bucky got the tape afterwards, so it makes no difference when he shot it.
    I wouldn't call that a plot hole, but more of a plot convinience. Most movies have those, so no biggie.
    Civil War wasn't perfect, I'm pretty sure it has some flaws, but overall it was far superior than BvS in pretty much every way.

The worst it was about bvs marketing, they spoil it everything in sneek previews: inhale smoke, Superman punch, Batman warehouse, Doomsday.
Everything was better with the element of surprise with only the comic-con trailer, I no longer see sneak previews and trailers from the second count

God that fight sucked, it was too dark visually and Superman was made to look weak and the action itself was just pretty poor especially when compared to lets say Cap and Bucky Vs Iron Man what was a far better and emotional fight. Miller may write Superman bad but at the very least he wrote him well in the TDKR fight and played to both Batman's and Superman's strengths and weaknesses, that fight was incredible and even better in the Animated film what upped the action, BvS version couldn't even match the small fight in Hush.

  You mean the Thor Ragnarok film what got great critical acclaim from both critics, comic book fans and the General Audience and made a fuck ton of money. As for heart it has plenty, for starters Odin's death is done really well and is quite moving and Thor and Loki's relationship is always great to watch.

    For starters they ruined The Planet Hulk storyline and now they can't add World War Hulk to the Infinity War. And like When Thor lost his eye you didn't care because there was a joke right after.
    Thor Ragnarock is The Nacho Libre of Comic book movies.
    If I feel like a comedy I will watch it, but there was no heart in the film. Odens death was not that powerful and they messed up the story line arc. Hella was Lokies daughter not Odens. I realize main stream people don't anything about comic's but they could atleast try and get some accuracy right instead worrying about cheap laughs and humor.
