New 'Justice League' Blu-ray cover puts the team inside Wayne Manor

Warner Bros. has revealed a new Justice League 4K Blu-ray cover for international markets like Japan, Brazil, and Italy. The new Blu-ray cover puts the team inside of Wayne Manor.

At the end of Justice League, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, and Wonder Woman walk into the abandoned mansion that we first saw in Batman v Superman. Wayne suggests a big table with six chairs for his fellow teammates, a nod to the Hall of Justice headquarters of the Justice League from the comics.

Justice League hits Digital HD on February 13th and Blu-ray on March 13th. It's available for pre-order now.

My problem with the 4K covers so far is that they just don’t make sense. In this one Wondy, Supes, Bats and Aquaman look like their walking towards some threat like bad asses, meanwhile Cyborg is stationary trying to strike some epic “look off into the distance” which makes no sense that he’s doing something different than them especially considering he’s just staring at a ceiling. And then we’ve got Flash using his speed force which doesn’t really make sense in Wayne Manor. In fact, it doesn’t really make sense that they’re in Wayne Manor to begin with. The North American 4K cover again features Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman walking towards a threat which is sweet but it’s ruined again by Aquaman being completely stationary, and don’t even get me started on Cyborg how they just managed to squeeze him in the background by having him jump up above the league as if he’s pointing a weapon off to the side lol If they’re gonna go with the walking Towards a threat cover then have them all walking together or other words it feels like an amateurish photoshop job.

    The look of each one of them is awesome. That’s one of the best pictures I think I’ve ever seen of Cavill’s Superman with his suit looking all colourful and what not. But yeah, just ruins it when you start to think about the pictures logically. The Blu Ray one is the only one that isn’t stupid.

      That's definitely one of my favorite shots of Henry. He's amazing.
      I wonder why they stopped trying as much to blend his muscle padding to make it look more realistic, though. That bothers me, and it was like that in the movie too, versus MoS where it looked much more natural and less like an in-your-face obvious suit sculpt.
      They blended it out just fine for Batman here... why not Superman? :/
      These little things add up and break the illusion, distracting you while you're focusing on what's happening in the story. As an artist, that's like the #1 crime you can commit toward your artwork.

    How can you say that it doesn't mean anything? We have been told repeatedly by the media that the "Snyder cut" doesn't exist. Yet now we know that it's probably much closer to completion than even the most diehard Snyder fans dared to imagine.
    I think that the Screen Rant article is extremely relevant to this fandom, considering the last several months of news coverage about how complete Snyder's version of Justice League may or may not be... :/

        I said that it's probably much closer to completion than we thought. I'm not trying to mislead anybody about the state of Snyder's cut of Justice League. Here is the most relevant quote from the Screen Rant article.
        "So, based on this evidence, we can know with a fair amount of certainty
        that the Snyder Cut is picture locked and color graded with a good
        amount VFX and audio mixing completed, corroborating the report claiming
        it exists in ‘relevant form’, with the only major caveat being that

        Maybe Zack Snyder does press the "like" button for a lot of things on social media, but why would he "like" the Screen Rant article if it was totally wrong? Wouldn't that possibly get him into a lot of trouble with the movie studios, putting his future career in jeopardy? I really think that the article combined with Snyder's response adds up to a very significant, and very specific piece of new information about the fabled "Snyder cut". :)

        Same reason they decide to interfere the last two times, THEY THOUGHT THEY KNEW BETTER. Even Kevin admitted that they were trying to copy Marvel. WB more than likely saw a chance to things once Zack decided to step down, but it obviously blew up in their faces.

I disagree with you there. I loved Nolan's movies and I've always disliked his take on Gotham, appearance wise. It's just a big city. That's what actually takes me away: they call it Gotham, but it's painfully plain to me it's just Chicago or Pittsburgh.
I'd say any adapted setting should try and follow the idea of the original, of course, but Gotham City, in this case, is almost a character of its own and I do feel it needs the gargoyles and the gothic architecture and what not, as it's part of "who" it is and of what makes it distinctive.
(I also don't think fantasy is a bad thing in live action adaptations or detracts from the immersion, especially with concepts like superheroes, but that's not the main point.)

        I wonder if it has something to do with us both being artists, but I find those games' aesthetics to be gaudy as well. It repels me.
        Arkham Origins was easily the best-looking to me (not perfectly to my tastes, but whatever, at least it was a little classier), while the others are good at times, but a lot of elements also turn me off.
        I thought Telltale Batman was off to a pretty good start visually, but after seeing designs like Harley and Bane (etc), I'm just holding my head in sorrow. lol
        Nolan was a godsend in this way, and I was so grateful for this when his movies came out. Especially after Batman & Robin -- which very oddly informs a number of bad (yet popular) design decisions despite being hated and mocked by fans.
        When I saw people actually praising the tacky-looking rooftop stuff in the beginning of JL, I was just stunned. Beyond somehow not noticing how cheap and amateur and awkward the shooting and stunts were, which made it feel so obviously like a couple of dudes acting on a set, they were raving, "It looks just like Arkham!"
        Yes. Yes it does, and that's what's wrong with it. :P

    Nolan's films were NOT connected to ANYTHING else in the DC universe. Ergo, a toned down, more realistic modern city. The Gotham mythos is bred into the Batman story. And as soon as that world joins the DC comic mythos...the stylization is born. If you want a Marvel style or backdrop...go see a Marvel film.

  Rumor is that DC/WB will be taking villians from the upcoming movies, for example, Cheetah from WW2, Black Manta from Aquaman, etc. to create the Legion of Doom for JL2 which will be released in 2021 (maybe 2022.) DC's plans change like the wind, so who knows if we ever see this.
  It is also rumored that Reeves is fighting DC/WB and wants his Batman movie outside the DCEU and a dark noir. They want it inside the DCEU so the Batman villains will appear in Legion of Doom/JL2.

    Honestly I’m really worried about Reeve’s Batman film even though he’s a good director. It just concerns me that he seems to have a very strong opinion on “who Batman is” to him. I’m just worried his vision of who Batman is isn’t going to line up with mine. For Zack Snyder, it was the opposite, literally everything he did with Batman in BvS was exactly how I’ve always wanted to see a live action Batman. Right from the costume, to the way Bruce Wayne/Batman act and to the way Batman fights.

      I absolutely agree and have the same concerns. I think that is the caveat with letting "mainstream or popular" directors have at it. In a ideal setting, it would be perfect to have a director or directors that 1. read the comics and 2. know the characters profoundly. I don't know about Reeves, but Sandberg who is directing Shazam had no clue about the hero, and had to take time to "bone up' on with source materials. We will have to see what we get in the end. I have issues with Snyder as a director on various points, but I will agree he gave us an awesome Batman that was pretty close to comic accurate. I only wish it wasn't a Frank Miller/older Batman, and that we had someone younger instead of Affleck.
      Patty gave a good comic Wonder Woman. I am not sure how Wan will do with Aquaman, but I am stoked as he is one of my fav heros. We will just have to take it one superhero and director at a time.

        The age thing is understandable. Had it been the exact same age as Frank Miller Batman I would’ve agreed but I don’t think Afflecks Batman was quite as old. And I kind of liked the idea that Batman had his own solo crime fighting career devoid of any meta humans... and the JL being something that happens towards the end of his career. I like the JL being the thing that takes him out of his bitterness and endless war against crime where he never seems to get anywhere. He meets meta humans and realizes he can form a team where they can actually change the world for the better. The JL/Superman kinda save Batman from going off the deep end in these films. I dig it. And I can do an early 40s Batman... it’s older but not too old. I think TDKR Batman is about 10-15 years older than Afflecks Batman so it’s not a direct adaptation of that Batman.

Logistically it makes sense for Bruce to convert the manor to the Hall of Justice. It’s all his money and his property and he would want Alfred at home base to help in building his/JL’s arsenal. Because he’s been Batman for over 20 years, I’m sure his security for the premises is already on point in hiding from all but the genius level villains who already figured out his identity anyway. It may stifle or handcuff Reeves a bit, but honestly Bruce becoming a minimalist and living in the Lake house makes way more sense than relying on Alfred to upkeep a huge mansion in his even older age while working in the Batcave every day and night. Plus, Reeves could still want to tell story of a younger Bruce anyway, which he’d have pretty much free reign with building. I’m against flashback idea, but if that’s what Reeves wants, nothing will stop it.

Watchtower in orbit or on the Moon is above Bruce’s budget. Maybe Aquaman has the hurried treasure to fund it, but they still need a teleporter for most of the members to even get there. Seems a little too far fetched for the more grounded in reality Universe. Maybe Cyborg could copy Boomtube technology to make it work, but that’s still for a future film. Utilizing an unused Wayne Manor as temporary Hall of Justice makes the most sense for the intro JL film.

  Not really we’ve got the international space station. You could also say that the governments around the world create the base for the heroes after they save the world in JL. Definitely ways to explain it. For films that are slightly more realistic, there are still tons of super unrealistic things in the films no reason why a space station can’t work when you have flash jumping from universe to universe because he got struck by lightning.

WB wanted a short film, and I think for now, Wayne Manor makes sense as current base until they go fund themselves to a multi billion dollar space station.

  Well, we also need them to start somewhere. This is something that is going to grow and evolve.
  Even in the comics and cartoons, the space station Watchtower was an evolution from the Hall of Justice, which was firmly on land.
  While watching in the theater, I figured pretty simply that, over time, it would go: Wayne Manor -> Hall of Justice -> Watchtower
  So there is nothing to complain about here, and it's pretty cool (and symbolic) to boot. :)

      It's a rocky time, but things will work themselves out one way or another.
      My dream for it is that they use Wayne Manor as a sort of bunker/roundtable room to get rolling and still remain secret, but then eventually the public recognizes them as pillars to defend them, so they get a proper, classic Hall of Justice out in the sunshine where everyone can see them at the end of JL2, followed by the Watchtower at the end of JL3.
      It would be cool to see all of these visited in some of the solo movies as well, or in team-up films like World's Finest, Trinity, or Green Lantern/Flash, etc. :)

        Green Lantern(s) helps tremendously in the logistics of not only putting that Watchtower together, but also in getting the Earth bound members of the team there in a quick trip.
        My guess is JL2 will be a team battle against Legion of Doom and JL3 will be a battle in Space and on Apokalips vs Darkseid and his Elite. Maybe even the Red Lanterns and White Martians help Darkseid out. So end of JL2 or beginning of JL3 could be where we see that Watchtower.

        Very true. Doesn’t look like they are abandoning the universe though. They are moving forward with individual films that will have cameos and team ups throughout. This could build to a heroes vs villains JL2 after each character on both teams is established. I doubt it will get a $300+ mil budget again, but it is very feasible we see JL2 within next 5-7 years.

Because they were mostly practical sets too nothing had that animation CGI look to it. But I still preferred Nolan using real locations in the sequels. Ideally, a perfect Batman film
Would have the real locations of TDK and TDKR, but with the intense action and more comic booky Batman of BvS. And maybe show some of the more rough areas of a city to give it some of that Gotham-ness back. Nolan used some beautiful establishing shots and while they were pretty to look at, I think all the beautiful daytime shots he gave us just took away a little too much of that Gotham vibe. Almost like Gotham felt too clean because he always chose to show us beautiful shots of the city. But In JL I hated the way Gotham rooftops look in Batman’s opening scene and during the scene on the rooftop with Gordon and the League. That cartoony, all CGI gothic version of Gotham works better in the comics then it does on the big screen. I love the idea of taking an unrealistic character like Batman and taking him out of the fantasy world he’s always been in, and trying to fit him into a real world cause he’s an awkward fit... making it cool to see ppl try to make it work. I really respect Nolan for being the first one to attempt that even though I think the execution was a little poor. (And yes, I know I’m in the minority on that one... no need to bring that up to me ppl)

    It just suits 2018 better to make it a more realistic/grounded world. Why wouldn’t we want a Batman film to feel more realistic ? The more real it feels the better as far As I’m concerned. And that’s kinda the direction they went with in BvS and MoS. Then with JL they just decided to take a step back and bring us back to the days of fake, cartoony, hyper-stylized Gotham city like just pick a damn vision and stick with it WB. You can almost feel them second guessing themselves when you see jarring transitions like that from one film to the next. Like “oh, people didn’t like the BvS so the problem must be the real world setting! So let’s do a complete 180” well JL got shat on too so hopefully now they’ve finally got the message that they don’t have to second guess themselves they just need to PAY ATTENTION to the ACTUAL criticism from the fans and stop going into panic mode. I don’t ever recall critics/fans giving BvS poor reviews because they felt Gotham needed more cgi, gargoyles and Ace Chemicals. Enough with the cheap attempts at fan service. That opening scene literally looked dated by today’s standards and after seeing the realism in Marvel
    Films. Enough with the hyper stylized shit WB. They need to realize DC comics is more than just a spooky looking Gotham City. And I say that as someone that hz Batman as my # 1 guy.

      the Batman world is already grounded. But if you take away the "gothic" look of "Goth"am city, in some ways it kind of takes away part of what makes Batman unique and what sets him apart from other grounded vigilantes. The gothic look is part of the fantasy of the Batman world. Making it seem more "real world" kind of defeats the purpose. You can make it work in live action and it can be awesome. Also, we didn't see much of Gotham City in BvS and most of it was during the daytime so I don't think its fair to say they completely changed it in JL

        Ah, I’m just done with the hyper stylized shit. I can deal with it in the comics, but in the Arkham
        Games, and in the movies I can’t stand it. Just makes everything too cartoony. And I especially believe this now that they’re opening up the entire DC universe seeing all these bright and colourful heroes in Batman’s world just isn’t very pleasing to the eye and it just serves as a reminder that WB relies to heavily on Batman’s world. DC is never going to get out of the “Batman is DC” rutt that they’re in if they never learn to let him take a back seat at all. As I said, the gothic stuff works in the comics, but in a Universe where CNN exists (BvS) clearly I think they’re going for a more realistic world and to me it’s just distracting to have Gotham City feel like fantasy land while everything else is real looking. It’s downright lazy and shows a lack of confidence in the director and their vision. The only reason Nolan didn’t make the real world setting work is because he focused too much on sexy daytime shots
        Of Gotham City. Just show us the more rundown areas of an American city at night time and it will feel enough like Gotham. No need for ugly, cartoony, CGI in a live action film.

  I think you would have been less impressed with TDK films if they had cartoonish action. It would seem weird in juxtaposition with the realistic setting.
  The same applies with Conroy’s voice dubbed over Bales lines. Conroy’s voice is great in cartoons and video games but for live action it’s hammy and silly.
  Additionally, I believe Nolan wanted his Batman films to be inspiring in the same way that Batman was trying to inspire Gotham. Batman could be anyone. Aside from some of his tech, an extremely well trained person could theoretically do everything that Batman does, if they were good enough.
  To be inspiring a character has to be relatable. When the action starts to include inhuman feats we can’t imagine ourselves being the character, they become unrelatable.
  To make Nolan’s Batman unrelatable through unbelievable action would be a disservice to the story.

    Exaggerated action like the warehouse scene isn’t cartoony it’s just very intense. Swaths of CGI can be a little cartoony yes but not if you keep your CGI scenes subtle like Batman flying in his jet in BvS to blow up those trucks with the machine guns. That scene looked pretty good if not better than the practical stuff that Nolan did with the Bat in TDKR.
    Here’s my thing with Nolan, i didn’t mind that he wanted to keep his fight scenes realistic i just think they were boring as hell and had lackluster choreography, and camera work. They could’ve been much better while still retaining grit and realism.

        That was so cute. I have issues with Snyder's films, but out of all of them MoS wasn't actually that bad. It was probably the most cohesive story telling he has done, and moments like that showing the dramatic flying, were executed well, and really got you excited, the way it did for that little kid.
        Snyder did try to put in scenes showing a hopeful and inspiring Superman, rescuing, people reaching up to him, etc., but he blanketed those efforts with bigger themes of him as an alien, government distrust and the reason Zod and his posse were there. That seemed to diminish the overall good in the character. He even went further and expanded on those darker themes in BvS, which didn't help matters. It was a good film with issues.

        I agree, it was good to see the flip side of what Superman has to deal with as a kind of "outsider" coming to Earth, even though he secretly grew up there. I also agree showing his struggles grounds him. However, I think it was in the writing and execution, like I said, focusing so much attention on those darker themes, that lost the connection to the hero. It was the single biggest complaint of that film from fans and movie-goers. Then it was really blown out in BvS.
        To illustrate my point on a more macro level, I watched all three films back to back, Mos/BvS/JL..it was a marathon, and the timeline picks up right after each movie. Most people don't realize, that Supes took a beating at the moment he announced Superman to the world in Snyder's vision; the gov't, Zod, Batman, Doomsday, death, and then Steppenwolf. If you focus in on that timeline, there really wasn't that many moments overall Snyder gave the pictures to show all his good virtues, and what he stands for. He was too busy being beat up constantly, dying and questioning his own actions throughout. Anyway, just a macro-vision of Snyder's Supes to consider.

        Yeah, i guess you could argue it could’ve been toned down just a bit more. I thought Man of Steel was mind blowing the first time I saw it. Just remember thinking, damn i’ve never seen a sci-if movie this good before. It just had that perfect blend of sci-fi and down to earth relatability. And you can just see that when a director doesn’t hold back on making intense action scenes, a large part of the audience gets turned off... almost like a good percentage of people need things softened up or dumbed down. Whatever you wanna call it. Either way, sometimes when i think a film creates a divisive audience... it’s a good sign... in the sense that the film
        might be a real treat. Something that certain types of people just can’t handle. That’s exactly how ill always see Man of Steel. A masterpiece that some don’t have the ability to recognize as such. Kind of similar to how popular music often times sucks. Sometimes we just have to sit back and admit to ourselves that a good portion of people in the world have poor taste. Sad but true.

I see people worrying about how they’ll handle Wayne Manor being the HQ for the League. But I don’t see why. Firstly, as much as I would’ve loved a satellite base, this is a much more realistic option (and this may just be a starting point or temporary place for them to expand to a Mount Justice or Watchtower setup later). Second, it’s not like they’re all gonna live there; I imagine it’s just a meeting place for them to convene and plan in times of crisis. It’ll just be a special room he uses only for League meetings. Bats isn’t gonna have to worry about waiting to use the bathroom until Barry is done brushing his teeth LOL

        The comedy would have ruined it for me regardless of it being a SW movie. That said, the film’s biggest problem is it’s complete lack of effort to fit in with the Star Wars history, story telling, and visual style.
        It was all trying to be some artistic breakthrough of stylization that both didn’t deliver AND didnt fit with previous films. The stylized colors, dream sequences, space tea parties with Rey and Kylo, flashbacks, slow motion, no scene transitions, odd color and sound choices and the haphazard story all made it feel like a directors attempt to be important rather than make a film that was respectful of its name.

        I’m all for artistic films, but slow motion and Instagram filters over every CGI heavy scene isn’t artsy. BR2049 was artistic and true to its predecessor.         It’s nice to have critical validation of your choices in films. With TDK, BvS, and BR2049 for example I very much agree with the critics. What I don’t get is the critical responses to Marvel/Disney movies. I don’t see how anyone can put Winter Soldier anywhere near TDK. I definitely don’t see TFA and TLJ as superior to ROTJ or ANH.

        Yea, you can always tell a good critic when they’re opinion sounds unique unto themselves. My BS detector for critics works really well. If the critic is just saying whatever the most popular opinion is or, if they’re just rehashing the critical consensus and same ideas of the majority without providing anything solid in the way of a supporting argument that sounds like they’re own ideas...then likely they’re just a fraud...repeating the most popular opinion to gain more subscribers, supporters,to keep disney happy etc. It’s just common sense, if you’re harsh on something that a lot of people are a fan of, you’re going to lose support/subscribers.
