'Justice League' hits Digital HD on February 13, according to iTunes and Amazon

on 'Justice League' hits Digital HD on February 13, according to iTunes and Amazon

Earlier this month iTunes listed the Digital HD release date for Justice League as January 30th before changing it to January 23rd, and then removing the date all together. With no official announcement from Warner Bros. yet it's clearly not happening this month, but now we have a new date to look forward to.

Today, iTunes and Amazon both updated their Justice League listings with a release date of February 13th. That's much more realistic than the incorrect January date, which would've been very early for a Digital HD release. Usually there's about a 90 day window between the theatrical release and home video.

These digital retailers have been wrong before, but an official announcement from Warner Bros. should be coming sometime in the next two weeks. One thing that won't be coming is a Zack Snyder director cut.

            lol aw man I can understand disappointment too thanks to that second time, cuz the first time, it was so buttery and truly the closest thing to when I used to eat croissants with my dad, that Ratatouille moment, second time just ruined it, I'll never buy some in a bag again. And then a lady at church gave my kids some cookies, same thing. My wife says she can taste Tupperware on food, I'm glad I can't cuz I mostly heat my lunches up. That's me and most movies. But the ziploc movies...

            I get that. Half guilty. The criticisms to bvs haven't changed my mind about liking it, but I'll admit that after watching SS then talking about SS to my cousin, my opinion of it went down. Worse, I liked it to begin with lol, man it was suck.

      This bastardised version of Justice League, trying to force Snyder's brilliantly dark DC world into some sort of Marvel-like big budget comedy - which is all Marvel Studios seem to produce these days- is pure unfiltered BULLSHIT!

      NO-ONE wants a live action version of Batman:The Brave and the Bold! - except possibly Joss Whedon.

      The creatively bankrupt meddling suits at WB hopefully have learnt their lesson this time - something they should have worked out after they butchered Suicide Squad.

      Let Snyder finish his cut and watch the money flood into the WB coffers.
      No other CBM has topped the Home Video Sales charts for longer than BvS!

          BvS destroyed CBM home video sales records.

          It stayed on top of the Disc sales charts for a month - only Inside Out and Frozen have topped the charts for longer - then remained in the top three for another three months!

          Meanwhile...

          The Russo's wannabe Avengers flick - Civil Bore - only lasted a week on top of the Home Video disc sales charts, before being taken down in it's second week of release by TMNT Out of the Shadows.

          BvS is a better movie in EVERY regard from Cinematography to Soundtrack.

            Cinematography and the score were excellent. But that's the only qualities the movie has with the warehouse scene.

            Be fair when you compare. Civil war outgrossed bvs by 300m at the b.o. it was better received than bvs and made more money overall. Most fans loved it. I didnt tbh, but its better than bvs.

            Civil Bore's trailers suckered a lot of people into the cinemas. But only hard-core marvelites bought it when it came out on home video.

            BvS destroyed it, and every other CBM ever released for sale on home video.

            Incomplete CGI is a HUGE problem! That would cost millions of dollars. WB isn't going to release a cut with unfinished CGI.

            They are so greedy. WB ruined Justice League by interfering in Snyder vision and they counted high profits. It's ridicolous. First they shoud let him finish the project. I thing it is not true that Snyder left the project because of his daughter's death. Of course it was a hard time for him but he prefer to do his job and don't thing about this tragedy and WB use this pretext to fire him. Then they hired Joss for expensive reshots and postproduction. Wheden reshots change whole plot despite WB assurances "The directing is minimal and it has to adhere to the style and tone and the template that Zack set. We’re not introducing any new characters. It’s the same characters in some new scenes. The course has really been set by Zack” - Toby Emmerich. Last stupid decision was to cut movie to 120 min. Sorry but it is WB fault justice League didn't succed both in the box office and among critics. I'm looking forward for at least extended cut . Most of scenes that Snyder made has unfinished CGI but there's some like in the trailers they shoud put in to theatrical and create extended (10-15 min.)Sorry for my ortography but I'm not from English-speaking country.

            I'm sure Universal had "a vision of a successful franchise" for their Dark Universe, and just about every other studio for that matter. It requires thought and planning, not letting one guy do whatever the fuck he wants.

            If you were a director and a studio handed you 300 million to realize your vision, would you turn it down? And considering the beautiful cinematography, score, fight choreography, costume design etc ... I'd say Zack "tried" a lot harder then most CBM directors care to these days.

            I mean I agree with you. DU sucks and for the same reason DCEU does, more or less. I don't think Snyder tried because he didn't think about bigger picture, he didn't care about the fans (even if you didn't want to use Jimmy Olsen, why execute him like that?), and he should have been aware enough to seek help and additional input instead of just sticking with his insticnts, knowing they have not served him well in the past.

            It's tough for me to look at the big picture with Snyder because we never got to see what he was building to. JL went from a two-parter to a standalone film, and there was likely a ton of compromise even before Whedon came on board. Maybe fans would have been pleased with Superman's resurrection and Batman's redemption arc. We'll never know now.

            I will agree that Jimmy Olsen wasa bizarre choice though. Technically he was a CIA agent using that name as a cover, so another director could conceivably use Jimmy in the future if they really wanted to.

            No one would ever be pleased with Superman's resurrection because no one even cared about the character to begin with. His solo movie was awful, underperformed both critically and commercially. Very few people could stomach seeing Cavill sulking, pouting, and brooding for two hours. And not only audiences didn't connect to MoS, we got BvS, where Superman continued being as unlikable, if not more unlikable. His death was so fucking meaningless it was a joke really.

            It's true JL was interfered with but BvS was all him, at least the UE. And it was bad. Numerous decisions were just...bad. Putting Gotham across the bay from Metropolis, but Clark had never heard of Batman before? Or Bruce Wayne? The way they handled Superman's death and Doomsday? The Martha moment? Lex and his jolly ranchers? Batman killing? Lex and his jar of piss? It's all just so, so, so bad.

            Well you play it as safe as possible and give the audience a few laughs, chances are you aren't going to send the average movie goer home angry. That "meh" feeling fades pretty quickly, as does the memory of the movies that make you feel that way.

            I disagree. I believe Snyder tried his hardest. It's not his fault that he's a talentless quack. Someone in the board of execs should've monitored him more closely in the early stages of MoS. Because the fate of the DCEU was sealed once that shitty film went into production.

      Really doubt it. I'm not even sure if he will produce them. .Being pushed aside and getting your work messed by another director cause the studio wouldn't wait for you to be in a good place after a tragedy probably left him with a bad taste in his mouth and it will make him think it twice at least. The studio doesn't want him but I doubt he wants to do it either.

          Yeah, as much as I disliked BvS, I did like MoS so I would've liked to see his trilogy finished by him. I definitely can't call JL a Snyder movie, that's for sure. Most of the things I hated about JL was Whedon's and the studio's doing.

          Also I can separate those facts to put myself in his position and can't help but think they played him and I only feel sorry for him.

            How did they play him? Bvs was his own doing. "But wb told him to cut 30 min" (Thank god) . he did the editing and did it terribly. Even the UE is a bad film even though its an improvement. The studio had every right to panic with the reception and b.o of bvs. What couldve been 1 of the biggest movie ever became a laughing stock.

            I think wb were pretty nice with him. They let him direct jl after bvs disaster, not to mention mos was pretty divisive and wasnt quite the hit they expected. They couldve fired him after bvs, but they kept him until he showed his cut to the execs and that was the last straw. They fired him quietly and pretended his departure was due to personal issues.they never made a big deal out of it to the media. If you ask me snyder had it pretty good.

            I agree with you, but its all about business. If you keep making movies that underperformes or that most hates it and becomes a laughing joke compare to the competition, you would've done the same. Like the sating goes " its not personal, its business."

            Sigh. This despite the fact the fact that WB screwed themselves over three times with BvS, SS, and JL, and then they nearly screwed up WW. You can't say "it's business" when you shot yourself in the foot that many times. WB was only lucky that SS and BvS was still able make a profit.

            Look, blame Snyder for some of DCEU's problems, but quit trying to give WB excuses for their own blatant screw-ups. We jsut got word from the top brass that they were trying to copy Marvel and rush things. Who knows how the DCEU would've turned out if WB had simply took their time.

            Wb is not to blame for bvs, snyder is. There was no reason for it to be 3 hrs long so they ask to chop 30 min and zack didnt edit the right parts and messed up a movie that was already bad. Then all the problems came out after bvs reception they panicked and had their fingers in ss and jl. Me i look at where the problem started, and it did with bvs being a bad movie period. Wb fucked up afterwards trying to repair it and fix it when it was already broken and missing parts. I blame wb for jl because they should've fired snyder and have a new director in charge, but instead they waited and shot themselves in the foot in the process.

            Yes, they share some of the blame for BvS as well. The only reason why people even agree with the cut runtime is because "only certain directors get the 3+ hour privilege".

            The problem started in the meeting room when the executives pushed for BvS while they were discussing ideas for MoS 2. Again, WB RUSHED things, and that action bit them on the ass hard.

            A bvs movie could've worked if done properly, i personally think that they couldve make amends half way through the movie and the next half, have them building a relationship and fighting crime together. No one was complaining about it being rushed when they were filming it. We were all ready to be amazed and happy to see our heroes sharing screen time. If the movie worked nobody would say it was rushed. The real issue was the 3 year gap between mos and bvs. They should've had 2 movies in between them and waited too long.

            I believe everyone has good points.
            MOST of the blame for BvS falls on Snyder for sure, but it was all under instruction and supervision of WB.
            Here's all the problems and who I blame for them:
            Putting Batman in MOS2- WB'S fault
            Making it TDKR - Snyder's fault
            trimming the wrong 30min - Snyder
            Spoiling the WHOLE movie in the trailers - WB
            "Killing" Superman - Snyder
            Casting Eissenberg - BOTH
            Not making it World's Finest - Snyder
            Overall garbage story - Snyder and writers

            I agree, but the eissenberg casting goes to snyder. I remember the story he told on why he casted him. Anywho, that was terrible casting. Putting batman in mos 2 wasnt a bad idea tbh, it was the writing and story. Pitching them against each other so early was.

            Stupidest cast of all time, i agree. I blame both cause the studio didn't intervene but then again they didn't intervene in the stupid plot or any other aspect so I guess you are right.

            True, adding Batman wasn't a bad idea in theory but it messed with Snyder's original plan on a Superman trilogy so in that moment everything changed. Though a World's Finest would've been epic.
            Now we've been robbed from all that potential gloriousness for another decade at least

            Damn, that casting choice was almost criminal imo.... I still cringe when thinking of Isenberg with his high, squeaky voice manically giggling, or awkwardly stuttering. God, that was awful! Just awful!

            I mean, we really will never know what exactly happened, but as things were told, I found it a cheap shot. Though i TOTALLY agree he should've been fired right after BvS. i think they kept him cause they were already far into pre production so they just found it more convenient.
            I know it is business, but timing for sure sucked. Who knows... Glad he's out for egoistic reasons but I do feel bad for how things went down. I do have empathy for him even though I think he completely ruined BvS and the rest of the DCFilms along with it.

            The UE was a great improvement over the commercial version. It upgraded the film from unwatchable to trash.

            I would guess he would be less involved than he was in the first WW, but the fact they’re bringing the Snyders back at ALL is actually weird... Maybe Patty genuinely wants them on board to help...

            Very true. I can’t imagine how broken he feels after these past few years, to be honest. Those stinking execs need to do right by him and release SOMETHING...

    At least the shoud release extended cut with some additional scenes if the won't release Snyder's cut. Such a shame. Waiting for official announcement and hoping for extended cut

    They haven't said if there will be an extended cut, have they? I get the feeling the movie will be the same and if anything, we will have deleted scenes in the bonus features.
    How long before the release of SS and BvS did they mention it'd be an extended cut?

      Nope, that'll come with the official announcement. An extended cut wouldn't surprise me, but a Zack Snyder cut without all the Whedon additions is not going to happen.

      Typically the Digital HD/Blu-ray announcements have come 3-4 weeks before the Digital HD release. So I expect WB to announce JL in the next 2 weeks.

        Oh, ok. Thanks. I'll have to wait and see. The 15 extra minutes hinted by Amazon are interesting but I'd prefer about 30 minutes of extra footage. I feel like 15 minutes wouldn't add that much like in SS but 30 would improve the movie a lot like in BvS.
        Yeah, I'm not expecting a Snyder cut. While interesting, it's ridiculous to even consider it a possibility.

            I mean, yeah. But realistically, objectively, it's ridiculous to believe it will happen.
            People can wish it, but really, really, really, shouldn't believe it ever will.
            The money it would cost is just an indication it will never happen, it's a gamble for the studio. Seriously, MILLIONS of dollars would have to be invested.
            And not only the money it would take to finish it, but also Zack would want to do it, the studio would have to be humble enough to accept it, they would have to figure out a way to explain and market it... it's just common sense it won't happen.
            Believe me, I do wish we had a Snyder version. But hoping it might happen is just naive

He's defended and explained the decisions that he made in the movie, that caused the butthurt force, to awaken. I wish Joss Whedon would've declined to finish Justice League's post-production, if he wasn't willing to be the spokesperson for the movie. I'd spend a lot of money just to hear a Whedon, Snyder, or Johns interview, about the making of Justice League.

    I'll wait and see. A Snyder's cut is unfortunately unlikely, but they should at least make a better extended cut and use the complete Snyder's scenes they have, or even Whedon's, which surely were cut too.

    Give fans at least a little bit of what they want, that's the only way people will want to buy. To release only the theatrical cut would be a non-sense

    You don't know that for certain. I understand all of the reasons why you think the "Snyder cut" is unlikely to be finished up for release, but stranger things have happened in recent memory...
