'Teen Titans GO! To the Movies' trailer has Wonder Woman and fart jokes

As promised, Warner Bros. released the first trailer for Teen Titans GO! To the Movies today. You can watch it in the video above.

There's a lot of "breaking the fourth wall" here. The trailer starts off with the Teen Titans giving fans what they know they want -- Wonder Woman. There's also an extra long fart joke. The trailer ends with "Teen Titans GO! To the Movies... because if Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can". Right on!

I'm gonna enjoy this so much actually. Love how self conscious this show is and it is a self parody of the current state of DC as an overall brand. I just hope it gets released in english in my country.

I thought that line was funny, but yeah, it is weird from an 'Aquaman' marketing point of view. At this point, WB needs to be wiping away the Aquaman stereotype if they want that movie to be a success. Not adding on to the fact that the mainstream thinks of him as a big joke!

  WB Animation could care less about what's going on with WB Pictures. They're technically under the Television group and WBP's bottom line isn't their problem.

  It may also be advantageous to draw attention to the meme so they can shatter it with the movie. Makes it more eye-grabbing culturally. I think it'll work in their favor.

  Yeah, this exact point (self depreciation to mask over past stereotypes/failed characters) I think inadvertently has cost DC/WB dear. Case in point; The Lego Batman Movie was a roaring success critically & overall. Few good months down the line, we get served a down trodden Batman via (SS, JL) who while not a disaster, just goes through the clichéd motions. All those Lego satirical moments are still fresh in the audience's head, which in affect just makes

I actually laughed at the fart joke, but they overdid it. Had it been just a quick poke in the butt, hole, sound, villain embarrassed closing the hole and everyone laughing, it would have been perfect timing. But they had to hammer it home with BB and Ray pointing out the obvious.

The fart jokes are all I need to say “no” to this movie. Now, I have no problem marketing Teen Titans (or comic book characters in general) to children more than adults. But when lazy humor like this is thrown into the marketing and the movie, it’s clear that these people behind the film are looking down on their audience like they’re idiots who laugh at anything.

Just because it’s a kids movie doesn’t mean you should make shit. Heck, some of my favorite movies of all time are considered “kids movies.” They include Prince of Egypt, The Iron Giant, The Land Before Time, The Lion King, several films from Studio Ghibli, and a couple Pixar films. These are examples of kids films that try. Not this garbage.

There's a place for serious kids movies, too, and all of the ones you listed remain favorites of mine into adulthood.

This still looks better than either version of BvS, and it looks terrible. But about on par with Zack Snyder's Justice League movie that was released into theaters.

    I can't speak for Ninja, but I tend to agree very strongly with him and find him to be a pretty rational person.
    Personally, I went into the movie faithful and optimistic that Joss was gonna nail it, and I was fully ready to give him props. And, you know, if he actually did, I happily would have. (He didn't.)
    What you just did is called a straw man argument. You built a fake assumed perspective for someone that they never expressed to categorize them, and then knocked that categorized perspective down as though you were actually defeating his point of view. That is dishonest.
    I'm sure if JL was good, Ninja would have nothing negative to say about Whedon, because Whedon in that scenario wouldn't have ruined it. :P

      I never said that he would say something bad about whedon. I simply said that if the movie was successful, he would've gave all the glory to snyder, but since the movie flopped, all the blame goes to whedon... Even though he made 2 of the most successful superhero movies,cant say the same about snyder, although i hated aou.

    I expected JL to be Zack’s movie. That’s what they kept telling us. Then I saw it, and all the reports came in and everything. And I realized what really happened. That’s all.
    I don’t even really blame Joss so much as WB.
    And to be honest, I thought a lot of the movie was good. Just expected more, including all those things they cut out and a Superman who doesn’t seem completely fake both visually and behaviorally.

god you know ive watched JL a few more times and its really not bad. With BvS I at least understand why so many people had issues with it, but with JL i find myself genuinely having a lot of fun and geeking out while watching the movie

  I had fun and geeked out a number of times, but it was always fleeting. Every time I'd start to enjoy something, something else that was frustrating would swoop in and snatch away the hype.
  That feeling diminished my enjoyment more and more of each next good moment. :(

    Cant say I had quite that same experience, i mean there were certainly things that I did not like or that I thought could have been done better, but overall it didn't "ruin" the movie for me. A lot of people have been getting all riled up about how much the movie was changed and the Joss Whedon moments(which were mainly the parts that I did not like), but I still couldn't help but enjoy the hell out of what we got for the most part. Its crazy though that now I find myself arguing with the people who loved Snyder's previous work as opposed to the people who hated it

      Jl wasnt a great movie, but it was entertaining. I definitely will watch it multiple times. I cant say the same with bvs though, i keep the remote close to me while watching so i can fast forward at least a hour and a half of the movie. What a snooze fest.

      i never said it was great. But personally I didn't think it was bad either. From what I could tell the the general consensus seems to be that it was a fun time at the movies, but ultimately forgettable.

      Don't get me wrong, I will gush and gush about the things I liked. The scenes of Superman challenging the Flash's speed had me in a puddle on the floor. lol
      I think the biggest thing is just that the film needed more heart and character development. Compared to Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, where those qualities were the major reason I loved those movies, it felt very tepid. We didn't get the intended character stuff from Cyborg and Aquaman, and that weakened how much I was invested in their involvement.
      Were they still fun to watch? Yeah, but their use was empty compared to what it ideally should have been.
      I wouldn't say the movie was "ruined", because I know I'll go back for the good scenes (the Zack scenes :P), but it does feel like the rug was yanked out from under it pretty roughly, and that makes me sad and frustrated.

      I thought it heart. There certainly could have been more character development, but I actually thought they did a pretty decent job considering the short runtime and lack of standalone movies before hand. At least, it certainly could have been worse. See for me, the characters were the best part of the movie. I think it acted as a solid introduction piece to the likes of Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg. The camaraderie between the team was surprisingly good and easily on par with the Avengers. To me, thats where the heart of the movie came from.

      I think the chemistry between the actors/characters was actually a lot more energized and natural than Avengers. They felt more like real people.
      Still, I want that extra hour to give Cyborg some more time to figure out his place in everything and give us an actual motivation for him, more of an arc with a resolution - revolving heavily around his father Silas (amazing casting choice), whose major material seems to have been chopped out of the film.
      The stuff with Atlantis needs more context and feels awkward without it. Arthur had very little motivation as well thanks to that, and his participation never feels earned or of any weight to him personally.
      Of course, I probably don't have to moan about Whedon's painful attempts to hack hokey TV humor into a dramatic epic, or the lazy, trudging feel of the additional and reshot scenes. Everyone's gone into a lot of detail about that stuff already.
      It's funny, because I was skeptical of BvS and wound up loving it. Oppositely, I was confident in JL and willing to put due faith in Whedon...
      I respect that you are optimistic, though, and I'm glad you enjoyed it more than me. I really wanted to.

      oh ya I am gradually coming around to that. I stopped trying to defend BvS a while ago honestly. People made up their minds about that movie. I am hoping to do so much quicker with JL though.

      It was like the movie had no meaning or depth. It was just a shallow, formulaic, fun, stereotypical superhero movie. That completely ruins the effect of its preceding movies’ build up. Just leaves you wanting something more and something different. Like it’s incomplete. Like we need a director’s cut :P

I have very mixed feelings about the TTG as a whole, when the show dropped I was one of the old farts who was disappointed to see it wasn't a continuation of Teen Titans (still a little sore about that) After watching the show a little bit it was OK at times, and there were times that just had me like wtf. I don't get the appeal but there's a market for anything I guess.

I'm hoping they payoff the shot at Aquaman with Jason Momoa appearing in some of the later marketing and kicking their asses. I'd be disappointed if they didn't.

Well... at least they're pleasantly self-conscious about it. Heh. I'm so tired of the fart jokes, but I still got a chuckle out of this trailer. I'm not the target audience here, for the most part, but may still see it anyway for the pure fact that it has my favorite sidekick of all time in it....
