'Wonder Woman' star Gal Gadot thanks Zack Snyder in Rising Star Award acceptance speech

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot was honored with the Rising Star Award last night at the Palm Springs Film Festival. During her acceptance speech, Gadot thanked Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder, who cast her as Wonder Woman and gave her a life-changing opportunity in Hollywood.

"Thank you so much for this honor," Gadot said. "This is all very new to me and weird and I feel so humbled to be here, especially in a room filled with people that I'm inspired by and admire so much. Thank you. I've always felt that it was rewarding enough to do what I love and to work with such wonderful people. So to also be given this award is really, really special.

"Four years ago, I got tired of all the 'no's and the rejections that I just wanted to quit acting. But of course the universe works in mysterious and wonderful ways and I received a phone call that I got this very special part. Zack Snyder had this strong vision of who Wonder Woman should be and I am forever grateful that he gave me the opportunity to play this iconic character. Thank you Zack for believing in me.

"Working on Wonder Woman was a life-changing experience. This character represents so much that I believe in. She's about doing the right thing, helping others, sticking to her beliefs, and she's motivated by the most beautiful quality: love. This is something we all need and are inspired by."

Gadot will suit up again later this summer when Wonder Woman 2 goes into production. It's slated for a November 1, 2019 release.

        Last I checked, directing credits went to Zack Snyder. You know, because he finished shooting principle photography and sort of... you know, DIRECTED THE MOVIE. This time his film was so shitty that even WB execs were appalled, calling it unwatchable. Enter, Whedon, who elevated the film from complete trash a la BvS to passable. But yeah, you're right, the joke's on Whedon. Lol...

        You really are a sad man. You have noooooo proof if he is cut was trash or not, but you're willing to believe that it worse than what we had gotten in theaters. Better than the film had clear unfinished CGI and rushed as hell plot.
        I get that you don't like Snyder, but at the very least, try to make yourself look intellectual when making these kind of comments.
        Here's the thing: If Zack's cut is trash, why in the hell are coworkers promoting it? If it was bad, I don't think they would want people to see it and mock Zack even more.

He shoulda just used all of Zack's original shoots, so your blaming of Zack would actually make sense. BvS still made more than your 'elevated' JL. Then after BvS people still went to watch Wonder Woman AND Suicide Squad. Both made more than JL, once again. Stop living in denial.

        Everyone has a different taste for movies, but more I see a Zack Snyder's movie and more I appreciate it, this guy know what quality is and I can watch each of his movies once per year. When I see Josstice League (sorry but JL is not a real Zack Snyder movie) I may (but I don't really want to) watch it again from the beginning. Justice League has become a Marvel kind of movie like Thor/Thor2/Ant-man that I won't buy or watch more than once (or two for some occasion) even if I have appreciated it.

        Yes both movie got their money back. And I don't understand the criticism with MOS, it did great as a origin movie in 2013. Why haters think it didn't successed because it didn't earn 1 billion!!!! Origin movies doesn't earn 1 billion in most cases, they earn half of it, and MOS earned more than that.
        And we even know BVS wasn't Zack s fault either, again it was the fault of DC, because the cut that was released in theater wasn't his rather was a studio cut. His real extended cut was praised by critics and fans alike.

        I'm talking about the money that it earned back from product placement and promotions. It was thanks to that it more than made up for it's budget even before it was released in theaters. It was just that it didn't meet WB's box office expectations, which was probably a billion dollars.

Fact is, had this version of Sups klicked with the audiences right away, he'd have brought WB tones more money than some one time product placement for Ikea and shit.

        Who gives a duck about product placement? If your most popular IP can't bring that money from sheer BO revenue, then you've got yourself a problem there, mister. You go insult people's intelligence, but your arguments are asinine and highly biased.
        MoS wasn't an outright failure, but it sure hell was not successful either critically or financially. In fact, because of its lukewarm reception, they went ahead and greenlit BvS in hopes that Batman will pick up the slack. BvS was great to you I'm sure, but it was trash to the rest of the world. And THAT'S why JL didn't even stand a chance. There were image and PR issues that WB needed to address before pushing out a movie that was destined to fail, no matter the vision they decided to adhere to.
        This is an UNBIASED breakdown of the subject. I haven't made up a single thing in my analysis above. You need to pluck your tongue out of Snyder's ass, and start looking at his asshole from an outsider's perspective.

        Superman isn't their most popular IP. That would be Batman. Batman has a lot more box office success than Superman has ever dreamed of.
        If product placement and promotions not only made close or more than your budget, then your film will more than likely become a financial success. Just because it didn't meet expectations, doesn't automatically mean that it wasn't a financial success. This is like when some people said that Suicide Squad wasn't a success because it didn't achieve a billion at the box office.
        And we don't know if JL was doomed to fail from the start since WB fucked up production. JL's production nightmare is a perfect example of a self-fulfilling prophecy. This is like when people expected WW to fail after BvS. Who knows? Maybe JL would've done better if WB had stayed out of Snyder's way and then fire him afterwards. Again: we don't know. All we know is that WB got super greedy during production, and were willing to give audiences an unfinished product. All of their issues could've been solved if they had just simply delayed the film.
        An "unbiased", my ass. You're clearly being bias. You even state the Snyder cut rumor as a fact, even though THERE'S NO PROOF OF YOUR CLAIM.

        We seem to have reached an impasse since I can't even start arguing with anyone who is delusional enough to make claims that Superman, one of the two most valuable DC characters, grossing $670M at the BO is a "succes". I can't start arguing with someone who can't comprehend that product placement revenue is great to have, for sure, but the BO revenue is the only number you have to gauge audiences' sentiment. I can't argue with a person who religiously chooses to dismiss well-known facts, e.g. Snyder's vision has largely failed to draw critical and financial success. I can't argue with a person that actually believes that Snyder's JL cut wasn't indeed unwatchable as being reported, a rumor supported by Whedon's involvement long before the tragedy of Snyder's daughter's death. It is impossible to argue with such a person, period. Thus, I won't.

        Sigh. Despite being a popular DC character, Superman has only TWO big box office successes under his belt. TWO OUT OF SIX FILMS!!. And yes, MoS is the one of the two films. The rest of his films either barely made a profit or were bombs, and I'm not including BvS with those films. And even when adjusted for inflation, MoS is the fourth highest grossing Superman film domestically on Box Office Mojo, and they included BvS on that list. Remove BvS, and MoS is instead the third highest grossing film of the franchise domestically. So despite Superman's horrible box office track record, you still believe that $668,045,518 shouldn't be considered a success?

        I have no proof that MoS was divisive among critics? Check the RT page. 55%. That's my proof. I don't have proof that BvS was panned by critics? Check the RT page. 27%, that's my proof. I don't have proof that MoS underachieved financially? Compare it to other superheros standalones then. Spider-Man's THIRD reboot in fifteen years: $860M. Doctor Strange (who the fuck is that): $670M. I can go on, but you get the point. BvS underachieved? Check opening weekend: $166M. Check total gross: $330M. Multiplier: less than 2.0, a shockingly low multiplier by any standard. Compare it to other superhero anssamble movies, like Civil War that came out two months later: North of a billion.
        But yes, it is clear that it I who's been talking out of his ass.

        Look, I do believe that WB had high hopes for MoS, especially after the success of TDK and TDKR. I wouldn't be surprised if they had expected MoS to make a billion. However, like I said before, just because MoS didn't meet expectations doesn't automatically mean that it wasn't a financial success. There's actual evidence that WB made sure that they could make a profit even before the film was released. WB made sure that they had their bases covered.
        So yes, while MoS wasn't the critical, finacial success that it was expected to be, I believe that it is a moderate success nonetheless.

  No. Amy Adams is nothing like Lois. Affleck all but demolished Batman with his personal problems and the pussy attitude towards the whole thing. Eisenberg was a travesty. And the jury is still out on Amber Heard and Jason Momoa. And even Cavill, no matter how much he tries, just does not have that charisma that Sups needs. Charm alone does not cut it.

    I agree with your Adams comment. I didn't even feel any chemistry between the two, typical of a Snyder movie. All of the character picks are bad, some more than others. Ben (I wish I was somewhere other than this set) Affleck, Gadot and Cavill were the least offensive. At least they resembled the comic characters in appearance, sans the greyed-out Syndervision. Cowabunga Aquaman and Ezra as the Flash were the worst, horrible costumes, Ezra's fall-down slapstick and neither like the real comic characters. Cyborg was a floating head on discount dollar store CGI, nuff said. I want a reboot...void of all things Snyder.
