First 3 minutes of 'Justice League' are officially online in 1080p

on First 3 minutes of 'Justice League' are officially online in 1080p

Believe it or not, Justice League will be released on Digital HD in Korea on December 19th. A Korean retailer that is selling the movie currently has it available for pre-order right now, and they provided a free 3 minute preview of the movie's opening in 1080p HD.

Check out the first 3 minutes of Justice League above to see Henry Cavill's Superman talking to kids with some questionable CGI work on his face, as well as the beginning of the cool Batman scene with the thief, which was written and directed by Joss Whedon.

Fans in the US will likely have to wait until February to watch Justice League at home on Digital HD services. Until then, you can watch the first 3 minutes over and over again in the HD video above. For full 1080p quality, check out the Korean website.

      Joss had nothing to do with Superman’s face. Zack Snyder would’ve had just 3 months to work with as well.

      All blame goes to WB for 1) wanting to reshoot most of Cavill’s scenes and 2) not pushing the movie back to give the VFX guys enough time to do a better job.

        Agreed. They should have pushed reshoots until Henry could shave. Didn’t Cruise break his leg anyway and put MI:(Whatever # they’re at) on hiatus anyway?... Doesn’t take that long to grow a mustache. Paramount should have let him shave. But it is on WB execs yet again for their micromanaging and not allowing Directors to execute their vision.

          The worst part is, after all this bullshit, Tom cruise hurts him self on set of MI doing a stunt and production had to be delayed anyways 🙄. Henry could have shaved and grew his mustache back by the time production started back up. Just poor management all around Hollywood these days.

          I honestly don't believe they should get any of the blame. It's not their problem that WB mismanaged their movie. Would it have been nice to let him shave and use a fake mustache? Sure. But I'm not going to beat them up for not helping out a competitor.

            True, but if WB did offer them to CGI Cavill's beard for Mission Impossible and the CGI did look good enough, then I think Paramount should get some blame as well. I'll change my tune though, if it turns out that the beard was as necessary as the director had said it was for one of the scenes.

            I understand that opinion, and it's a popular one, I just don't feel Paramount should have to compromise their movie in any way just because WB decided to do a lot of reshoots on Justice League.

            My guess is Cavill was part of some extreme stunts. Perhaps even under water, where a fake mustache would've never stayed on (or been too hard to do with CGI).

            We can animate hair pretty damn well, have been able to since Stuart little. WB offered to even pay for a CGI mustache.

            I agree, Paramount can do what they like, and have no obligation to help WB when WB made bad decisions. But, they could have done so without compromising their movie in the slightest. It would have been nice, that's all. Companies don't tend to be nice.

            The latest pirates movie had entire scenes with hair simulated underwater, which looked completely realistic. There are several articles about it.

            A mustache is nothing.

            Actually it does. Because they wouldn't go through the trouble of using practical effects if they could just create them credibly in CGI. This is exactly the reason why they insisted on real facial hair.

            You want to pretend adding a CGI mustache is like adding effects on stills...who's the one being "wilfully ignorant"?It's never been done (certainly not credibly) on a live action merging. Once Cavill started moving his mouth, people would notice, especially if it was a closeup scene.

            I would say Paramount really dug their heels in though to hurt WB, as it's just a stupid mustache for a minor character in a movie that'll be forgotten, as opposed to a starring role in a movie as Superman. It wasn't fair to the viewers, like WB's antics or not, and I think Paramount was sour grapes.

            Why Cavill didn't just shave it off himself I have no idea. Doesn't he care about his image, as opposed to looking like a joke now? What would Paramount do, sue him or blacklist him? Couldn't be worse than his standing with WB right now.

            If I’m using Cavill in my movie, and my movie is not coming out the same time as Cavill’s other movie, I would want Cavill to be successful and look good in that other film. The more recognizable and liked by the world audience, the more tickets my film will sell.

            That being said, WB should have found a better solution. 4 year olds could tell that lip looked horrible. If they needed those reshoots so bad, give him the full beard and dye it black and give him the black costume. According to reports, they had it made already.

            Yeah but Cavil isn't a draw so him looking good in JL makes no fucking difference to ticket sales for MI6, people watch MI6 for Time Cruise doing insane stunts and that its a MI film what are kinda big thing still.

            The Mummy flopped though and any extra star power would help. I’m not saying Cavill has a draw on par with Cruise, but being excellent as Superman can only help his global appeal. I thought Cavill was great in JL despite the fugly lip. Maybe they at least should not have used so many close up shots. It was almost like a “we don’t give a fuck attitude” to those shots and scenes. Very disappointed in their lack of awareness on that.

            MI is different to Mummy though, MI is a fairly big popular franchise what still draws in big numbers and has only got better each entry, i like Cavil and look forward to seeing him in MI6 but he won't have any impact in how the film performs. Got to remember his Superman isn't that popular and JL has been a flop, i 100% agree the work on him was poor but it isn't Paramount's problem.

            My exact thoughts. The whole swinging and flipping part looks like a cartoon character beside the real actor playing the thief. Goddamn their CGI is just brutal.

        That's assuming that the scene was a Zack Snyder idea to begin with, which as far as I'm aware, it wasn't. It's cheesy, forced and noticeably shoehorned (with or without bad CGI).

        Superman in the rest of the movie is mostly Snyder's footage, which didn't require any mustache removal.

            There are a lot of Snyder scenes. The revival scene is mostly his footage, his scenes in the crop field, etc... Basically anything that doesn't show that badly done mustache removal.

        Well he had everything to do with filming this scene, and approving it for the VERY first thing you see. The right side of his face looks swollen and doesn't even resemble him. People thought it was a new actor playing Superman.

        I was hoping I'd click this preview and see a slightly improved version of his face. But nope. Maybe in a few months when there is a bluray release we can hope for that. (Hope, I know it aint happening, but I keep hope alive.)

        Like it was bad enough making that Parademon scene for no reason other than to emphasize their feeding on fear and that weird siren that literally comes out of nowhere with zero explanation. (Never even play on the fear well, as another part of the reshoots, the Russian/polish family, was terrified and the parademons didn't seem to care about them at all.)

        Bruce goes from Gotham to 2 months worth of beard, after he finds out his city is in danger.

        The perched Gargoyle part was awesome. The actual combat choreography for that scene was trash. No heavy Batman impact. They make sure to change the camera angle asap, and zoom far away as much as possible. The Gargoyle part was awesome. The rest was bad.

        I like to imagine the movie we get if the movie was pushed back for a January or February release, and was still allowed a 2.5hr cut.

        Anyone else agree what's hurt Justice League the most is nothing short of fan backlash? I think the biggest problem with what they did was make the fans angry and now there is no really good word of mouth from the movie. No one talks it up for being amazing. Because while it is good, it is forgettable. None of the characters really get screen time/ development time. Cyborg is probably the most fleshed out. And in truth there really isn't any amazing scene that has people talking like the warehouse scene in BvS or the outstanding actions of Man of Steel. (Smallville fight, Metropolis fight.) Wonder Woman didn't have an amazing action scene either, but when the story of your movie is non existent you are going to want something to draw people in and have them talking for a while.

        When people talk about Justice League they'll be talking about the problems for years, the issues it had. That's reallly messed up.

            Honestly that scene was great the first time I saw it. Second time it was bland and the CGI was really not lovely. I hate when people move like they were built by a computer. DCEU does it a lot with the jumping. But Wonder Woman CGI wasn't great all throughout.. WB needs to start using other companies.

            The no man's land scene now, and them tearing up that town are boring to me. Wonder Woman in general doesn't feel like anything special after the first viewing. Honestly she had a challengeless movie until Ares came, and when she finally obtains her half God powers she wrecks this full God like he was trash. Her fights were all against foot soldiers she murdered like Anakin running through the Jedi academy.

            When she finds her god powers she just swings arms and soldiers just die around her. That was lame as fuck.

            Ludendorf I am STILL so confused about. Why did he have strength of that magnitude. Why did he need his strength back. Why did they give so many clues to him being Ares? And then just never answer anything. Her final fight was all lassos and rock throwing. Wonder Woman is the greatest combatant in the world, described by Batman in comics, they should have had her and Ares exchange real blows, and have a real fight. It was like they didn't want to have a man beat on a woman.

            The movie was good. It was also quite forgettable. If you loved the no man's scene that's cool, more power to you. I've seen the movie 3 or 4 times now. It doesn't really offer me that much entertainment.

          Right, people act like it'll cost MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS!!!

          I'm no expert but we're talking about finishing about 10 minutes of cgi, and color correction for the third act and this first scene.

          Then talking about maybe finishing cgi work on 5-10 cut out scenes where they all mostly had cgi completed in some way or another.

          There is no way editing almost completed footage for 20-30 minutes (most of which wouldn't even need anything) should cost more than 10-20 million tops. And that should still be high. Otherwise how on Earth could anything be affordable for studios. The CGI again is probably like 15 minutes of touch ups, because most deleted scenes were Cyborg and all of Cyborg's body were finished in cut leaked scenes. So all anyone would be working on is background cGI, and polishing Superman's upper lip.

          This movie would likely make hella more than BvS. An extended of this would kill in bluray sales. Especially since they were talking about it being extended Whedon only in a Bundle with the trilogy(Man of Steel, BvS, Justice league)

          From there if they were to even do a limited release Zack Snyder Cut in select theaters for 2 weekends, you'd probably make way more than what you spent on CGI touch ups.

            It likely has more to do with my youth, being only 27 and my capitol being a check to check poor kid. also my family wasn't in the being rich execs business. If I was a WB studio exec, I surely would already be on that 5 movies a year track.

            I'd make two movies a yr a CGI only movie. I'd hire the people that make the cinematic cutscenes for Injustice 2 build me those movies. Or the people that made the trailers for Star Wars the old Republic, because those CGI scenes are also beautiful.

            I'd make the cgi movies canon, and I'd use them for the smaller scale movies. Backstory movies.

            I'd get my real actors to voice them, and I'd have a very quickly expanding universe that makes tons of money and is heavily marketed towards kids. Honestly the budgets would be so much smaller and would still probably make so much money. Especially if the writers for all of these movies worked with DC comic creators to create the perfect stories to adapt.

            Then before I left I'd fast track a 3 part crisis on infinite earth cgi movie. A 2 part Blackest night CGI movie, and Batman Hush. None of those would be a part of canon.

            I'd also introduce the studio as a multiverse, and sell all of the movies so far as part of Earth 29. Directors would be able to choose which Earth their movie continuity belonged to. I'd have Earth 29, Earth 17, and finally after they'd been around for a while I'd put out Earth Prime continuity. Earth Prime would be by far the most comic accurate. Earth 29 would be for Darker stories, and Earth 17 would be for lesser known hero stories, like stories around Booster Gold or Stormwatch or Justice League of America.

            so every year you get one story from each universe and 2 giant scale CGI movie adaptations that are also canon to a main continuity.

            The rest of the studio jazz I'd be like yep fuck it, let my peers deal with everything else, I came to this studio to protect DC comics, and by God that's what I'll do.

            Then I'd have a Darkseid Wars story and bring us into DC rebirth and get Dr Manhattan rollin.

        they should have just given Cavil a long hair wig and full fake beard for the reshoots and then added long hair and beard with cgi for the few already shot scenes they kept in the movie. F it. Go for the full Jesus look. We already know they can do convincing CGI hair and beards. (Betcha didn't know Lois's hair was a wig mixed with CGI on the farm.) Then do the CG beard removal for just the last scene of the movie with the shirt-rip. Sure he wouldn't have been traditional Superman when he's with the League, but it would have looked less jank than what we got.

      If Hack Snyder made a good movie then there would be no reason to spend time and money on these re-shoots and cgi would be good cause the vfx team would have time to do a good job.

        Um, reshoots are common in films. No matter how good the film is, directors may see a scene and say "Hmm, we might need to redo that one". I'm pretty sure that even TDK had reshoots.

        No director is like Kubrick, who will make you redo the scene until he feels satisfied.

    I loved seeing all the logos with Elfman’s epic music, but the unnecessary opening scene with Superman’s chipmunk mouth completely ruined the excitement after that for me. I would’ve just started the movie with the Batman scene.

        They will release it man. Just look at Donner's Superman II. It's a much better movie and peope are willing to oay for that. If this shitty JL comes out on Blu-Ray, the only was of getting it will be to pirate it. No need to wast emore money on such shit. Then we can edit the hell out of it with trailer scenes and Zimmer/Junkie XL/Really Slow Motion music.

          It's shaped like an S because rivers are shaped like an S and they come and go and wind and hope comes and goes and winds so they're just like each other. It's the perfect metaphor. And it works even better because Superman's known for his connection to the su--, uh, I mean rivers. Yes, rivers are what Superman is known for. Hope. Rivers. It's perfect. The only thing that could top this well thought out metaphor is...CAR KEYS. Member how Pa Kent was always talking to Clark about hope and car keys. Because car keys go away sometimes...and then they show up again. Just. Like. Hope.

          See, that's the quintessential thing about hope: It comes and it goes. Hope isn't about never giving up in the face of overwhelming odds. It's not about believing the future holds something brighter. It's not about having faith in yourself or others. No, the most important thing about hope is that it comes and it goes.

        It’s not only his jarring cgi face, it’s the uselessness of the scene. It did not need to be in the movie at all. Not to mention that random cutaway at the end. We never got to hear Supes’ answer to that question. I would have simply started with Batman’s first scene, which does provide a use for the movie, and furthers the plot.

        Slightly weirded out by Superman just talking directly to civilians, but I thought it was a nice sentiment, and I loved the actual explanation he gave of the meaning of his symbol. The face, however, was horrendous.

            The shot framing also doesn't feel like a cell phone being held by a kid even though it's pretending to be, so that creates an unnatural feeling.

            It's all very wooden and awkward, but it's meant to be charming. The idea is great, execution is embarrassing.

            On top of that, they forgot (or had no time/money) to smooth out the muscle highlights in the suit... also distracting. It sticks out really bad, and feels like an airbrushed Halloween costume.

            The muscle highlights are embarrasing and the reason they show so much is because that idiot Whedon has no idea how to work with such things, as his Avengers costumes were simple pajamas. Zack has an eye for this and Fabian Wagner also. The guy that they got for the reshoots (because Wagner declined to shoot any additional photography, same loyality to Snyder as Junkie XL) had no idea what he was doing and everyithing from the lighting to the angles was terrible. The results are truly embarassing for the original creators.

          I always got the impression from BvS that Supes wasn't much of a public figure at the time. It came across to me that he would just show up when someone needed saving and then leave without giving any interviews. Everybody seemed to not really know anything about him and viewed him as a, pardon the pun, otherworldly figure. I could see this scene happening after Justice League. Between MoS and BvS though? Hell no.

            Actually, thought a little more about it, and Supes DID linger a bit after the Senate explosion in the UE, so perhaps in a situation like that if a kid were to come up to him and interview him, he wouldn’t just fly off and leave him in the dust. Still, though, this scene wasn’t handled very well. If it were to be, something like this could maybe potentially work.

            Also there is Bruce’s line in BvS “everytime your hero saves a cat out of a tree your paper writes puff piece editorial” (something like that)... so there is the notion that superman as in fact “mingled” with civilians and I think that’s part of the narrative of BvS. No one has negative opinions about superman except for political figures who haven’t really met him and question his purpose. that’s why superman get frustrated seeing news reports when he knows he is just out there trying to do good. so I think like you mention he stayed around in the UC after the senate explosion, that he doesn’t give interviews to reporters all the time but would stop to talk to some kids on a less serious Situation where he was able to save everyone

        It's a terrible scene man. C'mon, Batman from BvS or the comics would never behave in such way. Too many moves, too slow, saying Alfred's name in front of that thug, no concept of a plan how to subdue the parademon, then being flown into the skies and THEN FALIING ON BATMAN's back! Total disaste and nothing like Batman.

When it comes to these big JL films's, Batsy will need some detective knowledge for strategy but seeing him go full peak human against these Alien beings is something I want to see.

            They really made him useless in this movie, he even left the thug at the beginning of the movie on the rooftop after punching him a few times. They allowed Batman to be pushed around by Aquaman and WW, he was getting beat badly by a parademon in the tunnel fight sequence, without his gadgets/vehicles they would've bested him easily. His best offensive techinques in this movie were using guns from either the knightcrawler, batmobile or the parademons. But worst of all, instead of him preforming calculated risks, he throws logic out the window, and decides to go resurrect Superman with little to no knowledge about the power he's playing with(motherboxes). Whatever that character was, it's not Batman.

    Great way to sell the film by showing off the bit where the CGI is at its worst, was watching Terminator 2 last weekend (3-D Blu Ray is out in UK so i was checking it out and it looks good by the way) and it amazes me how a film of that age still has better CGI then anything in JL.

    Two points:
    The "found footage" was the only and one scene that the "no mustache" effect annoyed me.
    The scene is totally unnecessary, why they put this one in the beginning?

    I like the movie, I think the critics were unfair, but I can't understand some changes, tbh. The CEO was a bit crazy these days...

      It's a nice music but didn't fit.
      He tried to do a Zack Snyder-ish intro but failed. Snyder's choice of music is perfect, just watch Watchmen's intro.
      Yeah saying Alfred's name like that is stupid but letting him, I think Batman always does that, pings the police of where he captures a criminal, just like in Suicide Squad, he let "Deadshot" behind.

        SS, it was a cameo, DC Tony Stark. Different movie, the character was already in a bad reputation due to BvS, they (WB) didn't want him to traumatize Will Smith daughter.

          But SS was in the can before BvS was released, so their Batman choices were already made. Plus most of what was reshot for SS was the final scene and some of the Harley/Joker stuff because it was too abusive.

You think some petty thieve is going to put together that Bruce Waynes butler (if he even knows he has a butler and if he evens knows about Bruce Wayne) is helping Batman? For all he knows "Alfred" might be a codename.

        It's not about the thug figuring it out himself (though he could with enough determination). It's more about the thug spreading it.

        Think about it. How many people in Gotham can Batman possibly be? It's a narrow list of rich people, and how many of them do you think know an Alfred?

        Few enough that the police would be knocking on Bruce's door the next day.

        Batman cannot slip up like that.
