Margot Robbie to possibly voice Harley Quinn animated series for DC's streaming service

Warner Bros. has ordered 26 episodes of an adult Harley Quinn animated series for its upcoming streaming service, according to Deadline. Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad franchise, is at the top of Warner Bros.' list to voice Harley for the animated series, but a deal has not been made yet.

Deadline has more details about the show:

Written and executive produced by Halpern, Schumacker and Lorey, Harley Quinn, based on the DC characters, focuses on Harley Quinn who has finally broken things off once and for all with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal Queenpin of Gotham City. The series features Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and a whole cast of heroes and villains, old and new, from the DC Universe.

The Harley Quinn animated series would join a live-action Titans series, as well as the fan-favorite animated show Young Justice, as exclusive offerings from DC's upcoming streaming service. The unnamed service is expected to launch in 2018.

    honestly I don't think the snipping and snapping is going to be a thing for future movies unless the studio really doesn't have faith in the director which hopefully will never happen again(I am hopeful since they seem to really be taking their time to find the right directors for projects like Flashpoint and moS2). I mean that as kind of the problem with JL. THey clearly didn't have faith in Snyder's vision and abilities. James Wan on the other hand is responsible for the conjuring universe which is a very successful franchise for WB as well as Fast 7 which made Avengers numbers at the BO. He is not the kind of director WB will screw with I think. Same with Matt Reeves.

      No, the auteur theory just doesn't apply to these tentpoles. There's too much money at stake for them not to ultimately be what the studio thinks will be successful. The fact that when they asked Nolan who he thought would be good to take them forward and he recommended Snyder and Aronofsky should tell us that WB was already thinking in terms of making these movies radically different from "normal" superhero movies.

        I honestly don't agree. I think WB will let directors like Wan, Reeves, Jenkins, and hopefully Sandberg as well(since he did good by WB with Annabelle creation) do their thing. Their prior success is what makes that so. Snyder had two highly divisive(one critically panned) movies in a row that under performed at the box office. I mean obviously there will be "some" sort of guidelines, but I dont think there is going to be so much studio interference and production problems in the future with directors like these. I am very hopeful at least

      If they cut Whedon...they’ll cut anyone. Nothing to do with the director. The studio as a whole is simply entirely incapable of overseeing projects/ stringing together any semblance of success. Should build around WW and re-start from there, IMO...

        they didnt cut whedon. They cut Snyder and had Joss do reshoots. Your assessment of WBs competence also doesnt make much sense considering they are one of the most successful studios in the business. This year alone they have had a ton of hits. As of November WB is actually at the top this yea. This of course will change when Star Wars comes out and Disney takes that position

      home releases help recoup losses from theatrical releases so yea we can assume they would put some effort into it (ultimate edition of BvS???)

        The Ultimate Edition didn't take ANY effort actually. It was simply THE movie as it was before WB ordered Snyder to cut it down to 2 and a half hours because they got spooked it would be too long.
        It was edited, scored, visual effects completed, ADR work done, color corrected, and simply IN-THE-CAN Finished. You can even see it in terms of how the music is synced up with the Ultimate Edition, but NOT the theatrical cut due to a truncated length:

        (music hits its drumbeat right as Batman's fist does nothing to Superman's face in UE - music hits its drumbeat seconds AFTER Batman's fist does nothing to Superman's face in Theatrical cut).
        But in any case, even though the Justice League "Ultimate Edition" would require an extensive amount of work, I'd still love to see it.
        I think it's unlikely for all the reasons you mentioned, but if Snyder is aware of fans wanting to see his vision completed, then maybe there's an teeny tiny chance it could happen...?
        We live in a world where directors can now finish their movies (or at least get close to what their initial vision was) via DVD release and if Richard Donner can get his cut of Superman II on DVD years after he was fired, then hopefully Zack Snyder can do it too (but much sooner).

        I thought of that too but movies were so much simpler then. Donner patched holes with audition footage and a body double or two.

        True. Justice League would be a much larger endeavor.
        However, The Lord of the Rings patched together extended cuts and even refilmed footage specifically for the DVD's with new music composed by Howard Shore and new visual fx shots, so it can happen.
        The question is just: Will it happen?
        The answer is: Probably not. But we can still dream.

        I'm just saying that it's not out of the realm of possibility considering that stuff like this has been done before.
        Hell, Blade Runner was a bomb when it came out and Ridley Scott still got his "director's cut" even if it was years after the fact.

        That's exactly why they should let Zack finish it. They screwed up with the theatrical release which isn't earnings any money so they should do it for the fans. I'd be so happy To get a conclusion to this episode story and characters that I would but 2 Blu-rays just for sure.

        Come on, man. I mean, don't you think your motivation to do anything would be shot to pieces if you had to think about every day how you weren't there for your daughter when she took her life? Every parent's biggest nightmare is to have to bury their children. Imagine how much worse it would be if your child actually killed themselves. You'd blame yourself forever that you didn't do enough to make them happy enough to want to live.
        Snyder himself said he tried to bury his grief by diving into his work, but it just wasn't working out - and to do the studio and the fans a favor by not having them delay the movie for him to deal with his grief, he simply opted to walk out and let someone else do it for him. I mean, you can't really put a TIME-LIMIT on grieving. At some point, the studio would have badgered him (and justifiably granted - money's on the line) to get with the program again regardless of how ready Snyder was to resume working.
        I agree that I wish Snyder just took some time for himself and they pushed back the release date, but that's just me being selfish because I wanted the movie to be better and not thinking about the man behind the camera who had to bury his own child.
        And as for WB, they didn't HAVE to make the movie a mess. They could have pushed back the release date THEMSELVES if they wanted to use the opportunity to course correct. But instead, they rushed as fast as they could to reshoot nearly half the movie, hastily forced FX artists to churn out stupid things like CGing off Cavill's mustache (when it probably would have been better if they just waited for him to finish production on MI6 or ADDED a beard on him instead) at a breakneck speed, and mandate the movie to be under 2 hours when it clearly wasn't designed to be so short.
        So yes, they deserve a TON of blame for the mess they made. Creatively, Snyder can share some of the blame for what he did PRIOR to his daughter dying, but he can't really be blamed for the uneven final product we ended up with.

        He never said no, they made him leave. His family tragedy was just an excuse if not the means of getting him out. Of course they wouldn't say that they don't like his cut the same way they didn't say they didn't like Junkie XL's score.

        I don't know whether the petition will amount to anything. But I just want my signature there as a symbol of my support for Snyder and my condemnation of studio interference.

        It's just that nobody wants to watch more of that Whedon shit. We all want original Zack's cut. I've seen BvS five times in cinema, but after wasting 25$ to see JL in INAX 2D, I never want to see that version of the movie again.

  Let's say Whedon did make a lot of creative changes, having two different versions out will be dumb as fuck. Building a universe means it needs to stay consistent.... JL also isn't gonna do well financially, why would they further invest millions to finish Snyder's version? They sure as hell won't make up the costs from an Extended Cut.

        well, think of it this way. WB didn't trust Snyder and his vision. I think that much is obvious by now. The reason for this being due to the fact that he delivered two divisive(one critically panned) movies in a row and both underperformed financially. Now take James Wan. This guy is responsible for the Conjuring universe which has been a very successful franchise for WB. He also directed FF7 which was enormously successful and made Avengers money at the BO. Do you really think he is the kind of director the studio is going to mess with? The same goes for Matt Reeves(batman is their crown jewel and they understand the importance of that property which is why got a guy like Matt Reeves in the first place and are going to give him full control) as well as Patty Jenkins now after the huge success of Wonder Woman.
