Comic book writer and artist Enrico Marini revealed a cover he drew for GQ France today. The cover features Ben Affleck's Batman from Justice League in his new tactical Batsuit.
Marini has a two-part graphic novel series coming out next month for DC, it's called "Batman: The Dark Prince Charming".
Justice League hits theaters on November 17th.

Today I’m still debating if Ben Affleck is actually like fucking ripped or it’s the Bat body suit that makes the shape and form. This is by far the Bulkiest strongest Batman I’ve seen on film... literally a mirror to Frank Miller’s
He was definitely ripped in BvS, but he didn't get into that kind of shape for JL.
Agreed. The effort and dedication needed to stay in Batman shape is one of the reasons I think he might want out. Sucks because he had the look down perfect in BvS.
Yeah, even Bale didn't get as big for his sequels after Batman Begins. It must be tough! Cavill, to his credit, seems to maintain the same shape movie after movie.
Bale takes a toll on his body for his roles. Unnecessarily at times too... Ben I think would rather write, direct and party in his off time than be a method actor like Bale. That being said, he nailed the role way better than Bale imo.
Bale got smaller purposely each movie because that's what would happen if being batman was real. You don't have time to eat 7 square meals a day, and stick to a strict workout regiment
I always thought of Bruce Wayne as a combination of Bruce Lee and Bo Jackson. One who worked several hours a day on his skills and physical mastering of the body, and another who just showed up on the field and never needed to step foot in a weight room. Those were real people and Wayne is fictional, so somewhere in between the two in terms of effort to maintain his abilities and physique works fine for me.
Agreed. The Neil Adams's physique IMO is best suited for someone like Batman. His focus on honed fighting skills coupled with better than average strength make him the best fighter. I cringe when I see him at Hulk level sizes in the comics.
Yup. Adams had him at 6’2”, 210. Which works perfect for an athlete in peak condition.
It certainly made sense from a realistic standpoint for him to gradually decrease each movie. When he first started, Bale got up to 220 lbs because they asked him to bulk up after The Machinist and once he did, they actually asked him to decrease in mass for the suit because they thought he looked too massive and fat and not slim enough for the suit. He came back down and rested somewhere around 200 lbs. With TDK, he knew what was expected of him and came in a bit lighter and more mobile it seems for himself. Then of course, with TDKR and being out of commission for as long as the character was in the movie (7 years I believe) with Batman not showing his face in Gotham, it allowed his body type to decrease even further, which ended up working well with his aged character and his actual age.
Yeah, Cavill stays fit on the regular off the set being trained in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and still has youth on his side at 34 years old. His physique and gaining muscle mass will be solid for Supes for a good long while.
Cavill keeps getting bigger it's insane. He not only has the face of a God, he has the body too, hot damn

lol exactly. He's a naturally big guy and he's not in bad shape. I just don't think we'll see him get "BvS ripped" again.
He looks puffy in several, but not all JL scenes. It’s not a big deal and I totally agree about no need for shirtless scenes, but a chiseled jaw line like Cavil is ideal for a man who is at peak human performance.
Most of the JL scenes he looks "puffy" in are the reshoots. He has a totally different look in them and he looks even more weathered and tired.

well he was drinking lot too with his divorce issues... drinking makes you unnecessarily puffy
Agreed. It was great to see that dedication out of him though and establish that from the start. It allows viewers to use their imaginations going forward, even if we don't see him train again or be in a scene shirtless.
I don’t understand this at all. Just don’t film a shirtless scene and you’re good. It’s not like he does all of his own stunts.
I’m just saying he looked perfect in BvS, and got puffy looking(in some scenes) for filming JL. I totally agree about no need for shirtless scenes. I’d just rather see a chiseled jaw. Not a big deal. I’ve just read and watched several interviews where Affleck complained about the training and diet. As long as cgi can cut his face a bit, we’re good. But I do believe the training effort is one reason he might want out. Just going by his demeanor and words only. I hope I’m wrong. I love him as Bruce.
The rumors of his leaving are baseless. He expressed the desire to and excitement about staying on board in direct response to the question of that rumor. So I don’t think we have to worry, thankfully!

HOPE is the theme of JL. So maybe that’s a good sign. I’d love to see Ben pop up in several DC movies including his standalone trilogy.... Trying to stay positive.
I'm sure his complaints are legit at his age but he doesn't want out of this. This will fund his directing projects (his large bank account) and of course he's The Batman which is reason enough. The studio loves him. All he would need to do is work on his cardio regularly (and stop smoking like I've seen him do) to keep that jaw chiseled and not build up fat around it. Keep the arms solid and stomach flat and he's in good shape to go the distance for the films they have him. He wouldn't need to go as hard as Cavill does for Supes. The Batsuit takes care of all of that. He could do just fine if he and the right trainer just planned out what is necessary for the character and what's good for himself. Wouldn't be hard at all.
I love the optimism. It makes me feel more confident about him staying in the role now. One reason I thought was a positive for him were his comments about his son believing he really was Batman and dressing up in his costume for his birthday party. I get mixed sentiments from Ben in his interviews but he does seem to be very positive at the moment in his marketing for JL.
I hear you. Yeah, that moment from his kid was pretty cool. I think he really had to convince everyone how much he wants to stay and did so when he appeared at the JL panel in Comic-Con at Hall H. It was mixed reviews as you said up to that point and I think with his personal life going the way it was with the divorce, the criticism about the movies, dropping the solo Batman film with the pressures surrounding it and the legitimate training complaints, he probably kept it too real than what fans were expecting. Life happens and he has had a pretty crazy stressful year outside of being Batman if you think about it. But I think he was put up on notice to save face for the franchise as Bruce Wayne/Batman as they wanted everyone to be reassured that he wants to be here.
Agreed. At least being in this role makes him stay in shape and helps him to stay healthy. That alone is reason to continue. But yes, let the muscle suit promote that intimidating physique and just keep the stomach flat at his age and the fat level down and he'll be doing well for himself.

I feel like the lighting helped a lot. Strictly referring to his training scene.
His build was huge and his bodyfat looked at a level where we wouldn't see his abs because he looked quite chubby tbh.
Nevertheless, I still watch this scene before I workout lol

I find th angular shape and length of them a bit weird looking, plus Batman doesn’t usually wear goggles, so it’s like “Why?”
And Aquaman doesn't USUALLY have long hair and a beard, but this is a new interpretation of the character put to film, and you don't HAVE to like the changes they make, but I don't think "Well that's not how it is usually" is a very strong argument.
Not the same. Aquaman’s design does actually include that as a variant. The precedent for that was set in the comics in the 90’s and continued with his design in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon. There is no goggled variant of Batman, though, except for the occasional elseworlds thing or whatever - it’s not like blue and grey or black and grey, or yellow oval around the bat-symbol or no yellow oval. And it has already been established in this universe that Batman doesn’t wear goggles here, either.
I’m not saying it’s wrong or hating on JL or anything. I am a DCEU fan, love what Zack Snyder has done, and appreciate pretty much every character appearance in the universe so far. I just find the goggles a little weird looking and was asked why I felt that way. I’m not even making an argument. Just explaining. My hope is that there will be a good explanation as to why he wears them in the movie, they won’t be worn TOO much, and that I’ll get used to them in action.

They are big, then again all things Batlfeck are big. I hope we get to see the way the light bounces off them more than enough in the film. And yes, we haven't seen that in the trailers yet but I think they're keeping it under wraps because I'm sure it's AWESOMENESS fucking love his tactical suit btw
I just hope they have a tactical reason and not just because Zack thought it looks cool. As long as it has a purpose that makes sense then I’m cool with it. I just hate it when they make changes just for the sake of selling toys.
So far I'd guess it's because he's about to jump out of a plane or because the roof of his car was torn off by a Parademon.

I like the goggles too. However, it would have been better IMO if his tactical suit had the WHITE EYES instead.
Snyder is the first filmmaker to give us a Batman who had the white eyes (well... except for that brief moment from TDK) so it would only make sense for him to continue that aesthetic. But oh, well. It's not a big deal for me.

Enrico Marini is not a "DC artist". His upcoming Batman mini is his first work for the company and even his first non EU work too. His Le Scorpion is pretty fun btw. Basically Assassin´s Creed 2 before that game even existed. His current Les Aigles de Rome is also great:

Writing him off as "DC artist" is fucking insult to his famed craft. He is one of the most recognized Bande dessinée artists working right now. Not that his upcoming Elseworld mini can´t be good of course. Would you also introduce Stan Lee as a DC writer to your audience, as he did that, if you had to pen a story on him.

It's funny, since Affleck came on the scene, it almost makes sense for his height and weight to be more like that of Affleck for comics at 6'4" & somewhere around 208 lbs. Almost. The extra height makes him look more imposing as well as the physique which is the best Batman has ever had in live-action. That part of it is awesome. Then I start thinking about Batman's aerial ability such as flipping and his grappling hooks and two-ton cables because I've always been a fan in comics of him swinging from building to building than him driving the Batmobile. And I think, keeping him a bit shorter as he is in comics at 6'2" & 210 lbs. is a bit more believable for the way Bats looks and everything that he can do.
