A brand new Justice League trailer was released this morning, which gave us a look at Henry Cavill as Clark Kent for the first time.
Here at Batman News I always try to give you all the best quality images and videos, so I figured it’s time to start posting HD screencaps from these awesome DC movie trailers. Check out 123 images from the new Justice League trailer below!

My second favorite trailer so far (after the Comic-Con one, obviously). Music's a little off and CGI is not always pleasant, apparently that stupid blue filter is finally gone (people have regular skin color now and everything looks more real) and the jokes even had me laughing, we'll have to wait until the movie to see if they are misplaced or not. I also noticed this movie is still very Snyder, so those who are bitch*ng about his "vision" being ruined can shut it for now.
Overall satisfactory, a lot of cool stuff, but what caught my attention the most was definitely this:

https://i0.wp.com/batman-ne... The question is: was it unfinished before and this second version was a planned "progress"? Or they decided for a complete 180° aesthetically speaking? To me, personally, this is one of the not pleasant CGI moments.
Old version looks waaaaay better.
I can see why Snyder chose blue as it not only fits in nicely with the darkness of Batman's suit, but it compliments the red of the Flash's and Wonder Woman's suits as well as highlights Cyborg's glowing red eye and allows the ray guns of the parademons' firepower to shine through.
And even though I appreciate the change to look more like the fiery red skies of Apokolips, it's a very offputting color grading that now blends everything together. Cyborg no longer stands out, Flash's suit without the blue lightning around him is the same color, you can't see any blue in WW's costume cause she's graded all red, the parademons firepower blends in with the sky, etc.
You'll have to thank the people who kept complaining about the original night scene being too dark to see.
I agree. The CGI in this trailer and last trailer looks like a video game.

The first shot looks like the Blood Moon in Skyrim tuned up to 11. Whereas,
The second shot looks like a nice highway drive along Mafia 2.

On paper I would probably agree with you... but seeing the final product, I just can't lie to myself and say it looks good.

Does it matter? The goal isn't to make the "most faithful adaptation". The goal is to make the best film. Those are 2 very different things.

Not if done like this. If you want to see it done well, watch Blade Runner 2049. That's how you do real PRACTICAL looking red sky's.

i really dont see anything wrong with these red skies. The blending with the actors and the green screen is a tad off but other than that its fine tbh.
Joss Whedon is color blind and can't see the color blue.

Unfortunately not. There are a lot of photos that never got released online. They're only in books and magazines.
I like the previous version. So much of red looks weird.
I think it looks worse in stills than it does in motions.
FUN FACT there were NO filters used in bvs Larry Fong himself confirmed this LONG ago
Filters, lenses, post production effects... Whatever the name is! The colors were altered and if you believe they weren't because Fong said so, than you were fooled. My point is not that they shouldn't alter anything (of course not), but give it a real look instead of some ugly blue and gray atmosphere that may exist in other planets but NOT ours.

The thing is, the second (bottom) picture looks better, its more cinematic.
That wasn't my point. My point is that, yes, there WERE heavy filters in it. Also, it looks ugly and fake compared to the last two JL trailers we've seen for example, they have beautiful shots with beautiful and more natural colors. Of course the better one looks better than the untouched original shot, it's supposed to, doesn't mean it looks good though.
In BvS Larry Fong did push certain primaries in some scenes as evidenced in the VFX breakdown reels; for instance, for a few Superman shots he pushed the yellows in the midrange to give the image a more golden tone. However it's applicaiton is far less than commonly believed. Mostly he likes to push contrast to deepen the shadows, but most of the look of the final image is done through lighting, not color correction.

I dont know, man... the blue and blacks look good to me, it fits the atmosphere of where Bruce is.
Maybe I dont understand what you're railing against, this is still a Zack Snyder movie, it'll probably still have a lot the same blue and black lighting/coloring.
That color DOES exist in our planet. That’s called early in the day in a cold, wet climate.
And coloration and atmospheric lighting and such is commonly used to fit the visuals with the tone of the story. There’s no problem with that as long as it’s done right. And that example you gave us there fits. Looks better in general, too, to be honest.
I know, this was just meant to show Keaton how wrong he is thinking there were no alterations in color, there always is. As you said, the original untouched shot doesn't always look good or fit the tone of the scene, but that ugly blue filter not only steals away the colors but it looks unreal as hell. I like the color of the past two JL trailers a lot more compared to the first one, BvS and MoS.
If there’s one thing most people can agree on about Zack Snyder’s movies - regardless if they liked them or not - it is that they LOOK good. And if color alteration is true in the case of MoS and BvS, I like it either way. MoS was first and foremost a science fiction film dressed as a superhero movie, just as TDK was a crime thriller dressed as a superhero movie. So a little colder and more overcast looking color scheme fits the more realistic and colder atmosphere of that sort of tone. As for BvS, I really struggle to imagine there would be much color alteration in that - do people realize how bright the colors are in that movie? They’re bright. Superman’s suit is blue as blue gets. It just happens to be dark usually, because nighttime and dust clouds and tone and moody weather and such. And again, another movie that is considered a visual stunner.

I would rather not have Supergirl. Superboy has potential for a cooler and more believable story, I think. I loved how they portrayed him in the Young Justice cartoon.
I'd be okay with seeing Supergirl at some point in time, but not right now. Not even for Man of Steel 2 as I hope that it's an actual "SOLO" Superman movie which means NO SIDEKICKS.
But yeah, it'd be cooler to see Superboy. It'll also avoid people naturally comparing her to her TV counterpart as well.

I'm with you on this one. Legs are too thin, the boots and cape feel different and WHY would he be looking at a supes hologram?
They’re not gonna randomly cram Supergirl into this movie. There’s no way.
I agree that it'll really be cramming up this movie if they add her, but you cant deny that looks like skin color right? If so, that can't be Superman.

As I have mentioned before concerning this pic.
I believe this is Bruce Wayne looking at Superman's hologram to understand his physiology and literally resurrect him at some point. Learning all about the Kryptonian. Using and learning that the radiation of the sun may fully recover him.
He might of built Clark his very own sun tan, or Vitamin D coffin to heal him lol.

It’s a part of the hologram effect... if you follow the lines of the “skin” you can see that it continues into the boot and then it is apparent that it’s skin at all... just a hologram of superman
Still don’t get the CGI complaints. This movie looks awesome and beautiful.

When fans complain that a comic book movie looks like something straight from the comic books...oh well, they’ll all still be there day one!
the only aprt where it bugged me a little bit was when Cyborg is flying and catches Aquaman. The green Screen didn't blend as well as it could have there in my opinion. Other than that I think it is fine. Snyder has a pretty distinct visual style. Though personally part of me kind of wishes he would go back to the more grounded CG that they used in Man of Steel.
I don’t think the CGI was the problem in that shot so much as the weird, impossible-looking position they have Aquaman in. He, like, defies gravity. I’m hoping it will look better when I actually see the movie, though
I think the VFX are going to look more than well in the finished product. Cyborg also looks a whole lot better than he did at first. I mean damn, look at his design. It's so fucking complex! Must have been a huge pain in the ass to animate. However, if they nail it, it'll look amazing. Imagine a Justice League action scene shot entirely in IMAX. That means they have to animate the VFX in at least 5.6K! Detail galore, I really hope they go 65mm and 65mmIMAX for the sequel. It would definitely be an appropriate format for the worlds greatest heroes!

The fire rising up to the sky resembles Knightmare. I hope they explain that dream in JL so that it doesn't feel like it was just uselessly placed into the movie. I want that beautiful sequence to have a purpose.
I loved Bruce’s talking about it in the trailer - felt so epic! I’m sure they’ll address it further. If not in JL, then in Flashpoint (I can’t be the only one who thinks that might be the DCEU version of the Flashpoint timeline).
Or maybe it was just supposed to be a PTSD dream and the Parademons, Omega symbol, and time-traveling Flash were just Easter eggs for the audience only.
As far as the story of BvS is concerned the dream only needs to represent what it is; a nightmare Bruce is having about what will happen when Superman goes bad. If you didn't know what a Parademon or an Apocolyptian fire pit was it doesn't change the scenes place in the film. It will have resonance after JL comes out but, just in terms of BvS's story, those details are not as important as what the overall dream represents.

Clark appears in a dream sequence from Lois, thats it. The rest expands just a bit in what we already saw
Synder's storyboard and as you can tell, its from the first bit of the new trailer.

Disappointed in the CGI. The CGI in MOS and BVS were awesome, but the one in here looks like a video game. I dunno what Whedon or Warner Bros told the VFX team but they need to undo it. The CGI and color grading in the first 2 trailers were alot better.

I played Dark Souls 3 multiple times.....this looks nothing like that game except for the red sky from Lothric Castle.

This is the bad CGI I'm referring to btw. Any cgi that isn't under the red sky I'm fine with, except for that Amazon/ Human > Parademon battle. But the rest seems alright.

And that's just one of many shots that looked cartoonish. They really love going full retard with the CGI in the DCEU.

Only nit picking but the bits with the batmobile and the explosions the CGI looks too video game like, still a month to go so hopefully it gets more refined. The CGI with Stepphenwolf fighting and the parademons swarming with the little girl looking out the window looks miles better.
Can't wait, think and hope this is going to be a real crowd pleaser!

Speaking of Aquaman though, let me do some fangirling:
I just love that they gave Momoa lenses, he has actually SHARK EYES NOW and they look *good* they enhance his otherworldly appearance even more. I fucking dig it
Also really dig his heavily detailed costume. I love every bit of footage we've seen of Aquaman, I really think Momoa is a good if not great actor and I think he's going to be the biggest scene stealer (the other one being Flash lol gotta love Ezra he's so energetic). I cannot wait to see more of the underwater scenes. While I must admit that some of the shots still look a bit iffy, I must say that I really dig the design. It's their habitat, they can move freely talk freely and fucking breathe the water in. I get the dry-for-wet way of shooting although I also understand it's a pain in the ass for the VFX companies. I mean fuck. Almost everything has to be animated and to be animated on a high fucking level for it to look convincing. God I love that Snyder directed this and was the first to introduce us to Aquaman's underwater world. No bad words about James Wan, I think he's going to nail it, but it does help that someone as visionary as Snyder was at the helm of the start.
Also cannot wait to see more of Mera and to finally see Vulko. I think Dafoe has one of the widest ranges of actors. He can go from your best friend/biggest ally to the pure embodiment of evil. I think that's incredible. I loved his over the top but still powerful performance as Norman Osborn in Raimi's Spider-Man but damn, him as an ally to Aquaman. Cannot wait! He's going to crush it

Has anyone else ever thought about how we complain about the cgi Snyders films and revert back to the avengers and talk about how their cgi looks way better? I was thinking and I'm not a big marvel fan but from what I can see marvel is more lifelike even in tv shows and comics than D.C. Is. So to me it completely makes sense that the movies look kinda fake with all the cgi and the red sky (which I love) but to me it fits perfectly. D.C. Is more of an escape from reality than marvel is it's not as down to earth it's more imaginative and creative and I think that's the point of view you have to look at all this cgi from.
