Animated 'Teen Titans GO!' movie coming to theaters July 2018

Buried in Warner Bros. announcement today about a sequel to IT was an announcement for an animated Teen Titans Go! movie.

Teen Titans Go! is what was previously known as an "untitled animation film" set for Summer 2018. Warner Bros. announced today that Teen Titans Go! will hit theaters on July 27, 2018.

Teen Titans Go! is an animated TV series on Cartoon Network. It's currently in its fourth season.

    It could probably gross as much as Lego Batman. I think that's what the suits at the WB are looking for plus merchandising.

Lol at all the 20-40 year olds moaning about this show. Kids under 10 LOVE it and it is a way bigger revenue for stream for WB in its current form than the property has ever been.
Lots of "serious" animation, films and comicbooks out there for you guys.

        I know that they're both successes. To me, I find it rare for a show to have a theatrical movie. Most of the time a show will, at best, have a straight to DVD or VHS movie.

The show has made a fortune in merchandising and has even outlasted the original Titans series. Even YouTube clips of it get millions of views. Little kids love it, it's one of the few times comic books or a comic book property is actually catering to little kids and the next generation of fans instead of trying to please old ones. I don't care for it, but I know I'm not the target demographic and the grown men complaining about it is just sad. And I hope it's a huge hit that spawns multiple sequels so they become even sadder.

Warners should do a big screen DCAU justice league movie. That whole series (Batman the animated series, Superman the animated series, jl, etc) was great and still holds up.

  This. I watched this show last year with my little brother, and I laughed a lot at it. I mostly only find things to do with Robin funny, he is somehow consistently the funniest character on the show.

Not a fan myself but my 11 year old brother loves it and my neighbors kids who are only 3 and 6 do as well, us older fans have the more mature Animated stuff so i don't see why the kids can't have this.

I love how divisive this show is.
I think it's a good show if you have the right sense of humor for it, even as an adult. Worthless otherwise. It's probably pissing off many fans of the old show because they compare the two, and unfortunately they even took a few shots at this in some episodes. It's weird that the two shows are completely different in tone while sharing more or less the universe. This is a parody of the old one and that's probably why the fans of the old one hate it so much.
I think it's funny, I mean, it's way better than the equivalent shows we had on CN when I was a kid. I can't watch some of them again now without feeling shame, but this one I guess I'd be ok; I'm ok watching it now. Of course when I say "equivalent" shows I'm not comparing it to the old TT show, that's why so many fans of the old ones are disappointed or angry : it's completely not the same kind of show. This show is not taking the spot of the original TT show, this spot is probably taken by things like ben10

As far as animated cartoons go, I'll always have time for Teen Titans Go, Steven Universe and Adventure Time. I didn't think much of it in the beginning, but after giving it some time, TTG grew on me. II find it really funny and at time outright hilarious.
I feel sorry for those who think its an affront to another show because TTG stands on its own very well.

Hey, it's making DC and WB a bunch of money and (like it's girl-oriented counterpart DCSHG) is introducing the little kids to the DC characters. I watch bits of it sometimes when my nephew visits... it's okay, but I see him loving it and that's what counts (and he knows who Cyborg is heading into the JL movie!) I don't have to watch it myself just like I don't have to watch Hallmark movies.

How much do you want to bet that they're probably going to do it in a 2.40:1 anamorphic Widescreen aspect ratio, and have it be done in Stereoscopic 3D? But then again, if Warner Brothers stuck to it's original release date of June 1st, 2018, it would have to deal with Deadpool 2 at the box office, so I can understand why they changed the release date, but let's be real, were any of us asking for a Teen Titans Go movie?

I know this is strange but I’m a kid at heart and I don’t think kids will like this at all. I know a kid who loves live action movies or shows. I know CN doesn’t do reality shows anymore but the point that I’m making is that she likes action. So, Can I ask a strange question? Is it really the kids who asked for this or is it the parents who are jokingly pretending to be their kids doing reverse psychology to make this show seem cooler when it’s not? I mean if I was a kid again I would go to a movie if it had story and since the reboot came out before the movie I know that this movie will have no story. Too much of the same comedy drives people away. I know because I fell in love with a girl I liked but the only way I know how to care is by joking. She left to be with a girl now I’m worried if I met another woman it would be the same fate. So, my biggest question is it the kids that love the idea of the reboot movie or is it the parents that are pretending to be kids during reverse psychology that likes them? That’s all I want to know and that’s all I have to say.

Hey, I kind of agree with you Batman silhouette. I’m not excited for this movie and hear is why? Because it’s a scam so people can support more episodes of repeated jokes, no story, and unfunny humor. I mean that they don’t even change the people to people who know what good movies are about. I would rather see it push back multiple times into an abyss than see a movie that’s based on a horrible reboot. I know good shows and movies and Teen Titans Go doesn’t deserve a theatrical release. If it was story driven it would but no it’s only comedy. It’s the base of prop comedy because prop comedy is not that funny. The jokes and references are only prop comedy. A story has to have characters that connect with the audience, actions, have to make the audience have many emotions, and jokes that happen randomly meaning it’s funny to the audience. Does Teen Titans Go have all of these things? No. The only people who would be fans of Teen Titans Go will say your wrong there’s evidence of Teen Titans Go having all of these. I’ll break it to you the character development is mediocre, there’s only a few evidences of story (not the memory lane or flashbacks because not all episode stories go in order), a little action, it’s doesn't grab my appeal in a story, and the jokes aren’t random it may seem random but it’s not random at all. We are expected to laugh at potty humor, which is why it’s not random. That is why Teen Titans Go Going to the Movie is going to the toilet. It’s one big chocolate bananas (if you see Bizzzardvark then you’ll know what I mean). That’s all I have to say.
