on 'Justice League' rumored to have two credits scenes, Green Lanterns

The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez did a live chat on Periscope last night and had a bit to say about Justice League.

According to Gonzalez, Justice League will have not one, but two post-credit scenes for fans to look forward. He also said the movie will feature two Green Lanterns. Last year, it was reported that a member of the Green Lantern Corps would show up in Justice League too.

This news should be taken as rumor right now, since it was dropped in a Periscope chat and not written in an article on The Wrap. But what do you think? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

    Coming from the guy who said that BvS was going to be on par or if not better than the dark knight and also said that BvS would open like the way Watchmen did with that little montage... idk we'll see if any Lanterns appear but Umberto is the last person I'll turn to for good news

The movie that’s almost universally considered a groundbreaking piece of art for the superhero genre vs one that was so bad its lead actor was too embarrassed to talk about it in interviews. I’m a sheep because I like good movies? If you actually want to debate why TDK is in a different league than BvS, then let’s do it because you have almost no substance on your side

      That was never going to happen. Just looking at Snyder's filmography versus Christopher Nolan's, history would suggest a near impossibility of BvS being in the ballpark of quality of The Dark Knight.

    Snyder isn't a post credit scene type of director, but Whedon is so it'll be interesting to see if it's true. Also, I don't buy the two green lanterns rumor. I really, really doubt we will see anything more than a quick reference to them in JL.

        Which is dumb. It serves as a nice reminder of what's to come and there is nothing wrong with taking some ideas from other companies.

          I actually prefer mid-credit scenes or none at all because I don't wanna sit through the credits just to see a scene that may or may not be relevant to the next BIG film. And a lot of audiences will still leave the room once the credits play.

            That sounds like a you problem and it's about giving people a choice. Majority of people where I live tend to wait for a credit scene because it has become so associated with a comic book movie.

            People were even waiting for a post credit scene for BvS.

            Because it's easier to just have the scene play out before the credits or during them like how SS did. And the scene may not be important anyway, so those who did sit through the credits may have wasted their time for nothing.

            Even if it's not important, sometimes they are still funny like the ones we got in Deadpool and Homecoming. No one is forcing you to watch it.

            I like the post credits scenes because it gives me a few minutes to chat with friends or others in the audience about the movie right after it's finished, talk about what we thought of it, key plot points and easter eggs, etc. If everyone goes home, you might not get that chance, or it might now be as fresh in your memory. You kinda get to digest it a little at the best possible time. Just for that alone I think it's not a waste of time. Unless you're not a fan of the source and don't care about all those little details, then you can just leave; the after credit scene is just a nice teaser for the true fans to get an idea of what's to come, or maybe just an enjoyable morsel. It's not meant to be necessary.

            In addition to everything you said, I just like to enjoy the music, soak up the residual atmosphere, and stew on everything that happened. It's nice. :) Like seriously, how can you walk out on a Batman soundtrack playing in the credits? I was captured by that since I was 2 years old with Batman '89.

            Also, I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes seeing who did what in the credits, and picking out names I've seen before.

            A movie can sometimes feel incomplete for me if I don't at least let the credits play in the background if I'm watching a movie at home. haha

            If it's an unrelated set up, it'll disrupt flow of the movie. Thanos grabbing the gauntlet at the end of AoU would seem a little out of place at the end of the film.

            Plus, there'd be a ton of fans from this site ripping the conclusion just setting up the next one.

            U would seriously rather sit theu the credits just for a two minute scene rather than watch said scene RIGHT BEFORE the credits and then go the fuck home instead of siting thru some shitty credits? Thats sounds like a YOU problem. U just have to disagree with everyone on this site except for The Crotch bc u two r the only ones negative enough to think alike.

            I praise when it's deserved. I have repeatedly thrown my support behind Man of Steel, it's actually one of my favourite comic book movies even with it's flaws. I have repeatedly shared my positive thoughts towards Wonder Woman, I'm looking forward to Wan's Aquaman and Reeve's Batman and I always have a healthy discussion about them. I'm even cautiously optimistic about fucking JL, I don't think Whedon will get himself involved if it was a complete disaster. But of course you'll just ignore all of that. As for Kerk, we have repeatedly expressed our differences when it came to certain topics such as Flashpoint and even now, he disagrees with me about post credit scenes. You'll just ignore that as well.

            You seem to have a really difficult problem accepting criticism and I don't even get why you take them so personally, none of them are being directed to you.

            It's 5-8 minutes more, bub. What's the big deal. You paid for the ticket, might as well get your full money's worth. What am I racing home to do?

            I always read the whole plot of these movies before I see them. If there's mid and/or post-credit scenes, I know it in advance.

            Plus, after 150 minutes, unless you didn't pace your ICCEE drink, is waiting another 5-8 minutes that big a killer?

            For me, if it's a film that I really want to me, I try to come watch it blind. And even if it's a CBM, I tend to forget that it'll most likely have a post or mid-credit scene. And I tend to also be watching with my dad who doesn't like sitting through the credits anyway.

            I hate surprises & prefer the journey to the ending. Plus, if I know what's going to happen, I tend to focus on the full scene instead of just the primary focus; the score, setting, other characters in the scene, etc.

          I disagree. A post-credit scene is nothing but a glorified commercial. It ties the studio's hands and forces whatever it does in the future to adhere to 15 sec of footage. You can only pull that shit off in a tyrannic regime of one producer who has a clear plan.

            They obviously have no long term plan for the DCEU but at least they do know or should know where Aquaman and Shazam stands so JL's post credit could possibly be about them. You don't have to make one for a movie that is coming out in 2022 but I do see your concern, considering what happened with The Batman.

            If it's planned ahead, in some cases shot by the director of the movie its related to, is it really tying the studio's hands? Especially at this point. People here will dismiss the movies, but the MCU is running like a well oiled machine.

    Wonder Woman didn't need a post-credit scene to be good and a success.

    Whatever you want to say/show, you can show it in the movie.

    Only two times did DC have a post-credit scene: Green Lantern and Suicide Squad.

    Both trying to copy Marvel.

      That´s what I think. For example, the post-credit scene of SS could have been a normal scene at the ending of the movie.

      Actually, most post-credit scenes can be showed during the movie, like the one from Kong: Skull Island.

            The fact that they're now open to post credit scenes doesn't mean every movie is gonna have them. The fact they're doing them at all, much less having TWO of them (after swearing them off from the start) should tell you on it's own that something has changed about their opinion.

    I can picture a post-credits scene on Oa showing a hologram of Earth being viewed by the Guardians, noting that the invasion of Earth was foiled before the GLC had a chance to intervene. Then you see two GLs enter the frame, summoned by the Guardians to investigate the matter of metahumans on Earth and the invasion, which breached intergalactic law. The GLs are revealed to be Hal and John Stewart.

    I feel like all the post credit scenes will be revealed everywhere else but in the movie theater. The Communion scene from BVS was released online and the Wonder Woman scene that hints at the mother box was released as added bonus feature with WW DVD

    If true, I'm all for it...I actually like end credits. However, given the "source" I won't hold my breath, although he did predict Doomsday, but hat could have been a lucky guess.

    Definitely a Whedon approach. Not Snyder's style which gives me some hope.

    Scene 1: We see Green Lantern and Superman discuss what might come next since they only prevented the inevitable coming of someone named Darkseid. Superman says we may have won this battle with our armies on Earth but what will happen when Steppenwolf returns with Darkseid and all his armies. Green Lantern says, "I think I can help you there Superman". All of the sudden they are surrounded by a bright green glow as we see we're above the Green Lantern Corps reciting their oath.

    Scene 2: We see where Steppenwolf was defeated by the Justice League and their armies. A dark creature slowly rises from a crater spot. He breathes heavily like he's in pain as he looks at the destruction surrounding him. The creature morphs into a human form with a blue cloak and dark green skin. He looks up at the stars with a close up of his red eyes and flys up and away from the camera.

Fyi I ignored the entirety of this article in hopes that I still get suprised somehow. Even if its "just a rumour" "take it with a grain of salt" situation. I follow this page on a regular basis and I learned my lesson with BvS. I waited my whole life for this damn movie please don't ruin this moment!xD ~Cheers

    I am still hoping that Superman isn't the only surprise. Either GL or MH would be a goo addition to the JL. If DC & WB manages to keep it under wraps until the movie, that will be amazing. What if Alfred is talking to a GL or MH at the end of the trailer??
