Margot Robbie will play Harley Quinn again next year, but doesn't know if it's for 'Joker/Harley'

Margot Robbie is at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend to promote her new movie, I, Tonya, and The Wrap caught up with her to ask when she'll be suiting up as Harley Quinn again.

"I think next year I'll be back in the fishnets wielding a baseball bat, I hope," Robbie said. When asked if it would be for the Joker/Harley movie, Robbie replied "your guess is as good as mine at this point. I don't know."

Robbie is most likely talking about Suicide Squad 2, which just got a director in Gavin O'Connor and is expected to start shooting in the fall of 2018. The Joker and Harley Quinn movie is still in early development, and will likely follow Suicide Squad 2.

Zack was just a director, Geoff Johns is the one overseeing things. Zack has been gone for a while now but DC continues to screw up. I was one of the people blaming Zack in the beginning but its clear now that it wasn't all his fault.

Many of us disagree with your opinion of his style. But beyond that, the OK for an approach that stripped much of the fantasy away from the characters, to effectively produce a Watchmen for the DCU rather than a more straightforward adaption of the comics like the MCU, came from well above Snyder's head. Plus, WB had already gone with the straight style with GL and gotten burned, so deciding that that wasn't in their wheelhouse was reasonable.

Still on the table but most fans think it's pushed until after SS2 and the Joker/Harley movie, as a way to give her a full arc. Plus, if Reeves wants Catwoman or Ivy for his Bat-films, they'll have to align the casting, timing and stories as well.
