'Justice League' reshoots? 'Wonder Woman' actors are heading back to the Themyscira set in Italy

We've heard that Justice League reshoots were going to take most of the summer to complete, but could they be going into the deep weeks of September as well?

Madeleine Vall Beijner, who played an Amazon warrior in Wonder Woman, shared a post on Instagram this week hinting that she'll be part of more Justice League reshoots soon. "In less than three weeks I will be reunited with these badass amazon warriors again!!," she wrote. "Also, in Themiscyra (Italy) at the same location where we were shooting the movie #WONDERWOMAN. Can't wait to go back!".

While it's possible this could be a vacation for three friends who met on the set of Wonder Woman, reshoots for Justice League seems like a much more likely scenario to me.

Update: Aquaman is also scheduled to be filming in Italy soon. It's possible this could be for that movie too.

Update #2: A fan claims to have reached out and got a response saying that this is not for Justice League.

Justice League is still scheduled to hit theaters on November 17th.

    An actor sharing a picture of herself in costume with other fellow actors, saying that they're going back to the same location where they shot Themyscira for Wonder Woman (which we know is going to be in Justice League), hints at more than just friends meeting up. But I included that unlikely scenario in my article because I knew there'd be someone like you who would bring it up.

      The comments section of an article is where readers are supposed to complain/praise/comment on an author and the article. The only really surprising thing I'm seeing here is that the author was actually so defensive that he went back and forth with his readers for a while.       I appreciate that feedback. I just don't mind rumors. I've literally been writing about them since 2010. I think part of the fun of following these movies is going back and connecting all of the pieces and seeing what was true and what wasn't.
      I understand that this might not be for Justice League, but I also think that it's possible that it is. That's why I shared it.

      Everything is possible, but it's not plausible. Justice League didn't even film in Italy as far as I know, she didn't mention Justice League, filming anything other than Wonder Woman, or reshoots. I don't know why you're being purposefully dense Chris, but it's really not a good look.

      Dear Chris, i have not posted in a long while. However, i visit the site numerous times every day and read most of comments. The main reason why i stopped posting is the reason you gave above.
      I looked at some of my posts in the past and realized i was slowly becoming the freaked out DC fan you described because of so much negativity the franchise receives. It was pointless.

      Not saying this is the situation here, but wasn't the shawarma post-credit scene shot just a couple weeks before the big premiere of Avengers?
      So, I agree the train has left the station for the movie & don't view a possible quick credit scene to continue to highlight the DCEU's hottest commodity as a derailment for the November release date. If Aquaman is being shot there, a quick little scene could assist with the transition into the next movie.
      Pissing hardo DC fans off by having a mid- or post-credit scene is a different story.

      Wonder Woman was made by Warner Bros. Robin Wright played Antiope in Wonder Woman. We don't even know if this actress and her friends are even in Justice League, and Justiec League never filmed in Italy.       We know that this actress and the ladies she mentioned were a part of the stunt team and that the Amazons are in JL if only for a Flashback.
      I doubt she'd be allowed to say "Hey everyone, we are going to shoot a few more scenes with Justice League" when the main cast (besides Ben Affleck who doesn't give a fuck anymore) are downplaying the reshoots.

      I think they are filming some sort of sequence, since the Amazons were a really high point of Wonder Woman that people responded well too. They might want to show Paradise Island again.
      Who knows, it might be an after credit scene to make room for Wonder Woman 2.

      In the comments, her friends respond wishing the entire squad was back and not just them three. Keep in mind they were all part of the stunt team. Also keep in mind that they brought Robin Wright and um, the mother (forgive me I can't remember her name) back for the reshoots as well.

      everything is possible but forgive me: you go back for a vacation to a place where you've worked and with some of the people (you've worked with (not close friends, nothing would indicate these three lovely ladies go often on vacation together or share any other free time, they even live in different cities) why wouldn't you hint to that on the tags? nothing in the tags, caption or comments would suggest this is a vacation but the opposite. But nothing in her tags or comments of the other Amazons involved and their personal trainer (the guy who trainer ALL the Amazons) would suggest that is a vacation with three friends who apparently happen not to hang out other than for work. Could be a promotional photo-shooting too. The blown out of proportions reshots ended at least 2 months ago and the film would need to be delayed to be reworked again on a shooting level.

let's do some math. 3 weeks from today is the last of Sept. First of October. The film's earliest release date is Nov 15th. 6 weeks from the release date. There are a lot of things that have to happen before that. Ratings classification of the final edit. the physical production of thousands of reels of film for those places left that aren't pure digital. Then they have to ship. Not to mention the time it takes to shoot process and edit these new scenes into the final product. I find it highly unlikely unless they push the release back. Possible? Yes likely? No.

      UPDATE: I get that this is Chris' site and he does what he wants, but he has to be aware of how publishing opinion based articles that don't have a shred of evidence that point toward what the title of the article presents is poor form. I can't claim to know what he was thinking at the time, but after seeing the headline, then reading the article in full, this is the definition of click bait being used at a time where anything that points to negativity in the DCEU attracts clicks. Even if you love or hate the universe, we click these articles because we want strong reports with viable sources, research, and facts so we can know what's going on. None of that is really presented here. He speculated purely off of the possiblity (W/O any other source) that it could be reshoots. She mentions nothing about shooting any type of movie, DC/WB or any other studio that she could also be working for. Nor does she mention Justice League in any way. Of course there is a chance he's right. There is also a chance that I could meet Natalie Portman tomorrow and we fall madly in love, causing her to leave her family behind while we run away together. Then we spend night after night exploring each other's bodies in ways that are too graphic to post on this site. Possible, but unlikely.

      Chris, I'm with you on this, it's valid speculation based on extrapolating data available. However, I would tweak the headline. Why are you saying they're going to the "Themyscira set"? The word "set" here implies the film set, even though they flmed in physical location it suggests that the equipment has been set up again. I would say they go to the "place where Wonder Woman was shot" or "Themyscira (Italy)" or something like that. I'd just remove and replace the word "set", as it really implies that reshoots actually are definitely going on. Good luck, keep us all updated on your progress.

Remember when I made an article about Rick Famuyiwa following a bunch of DC related accounts? That was speculative, just like this article is. Why didn't you give me crap about that one?

I've always done this type of writing and I always will. I've updated my headline to make it more clear that this is speculation and in no way 100% fact. I appreciate the feedback, I think we've reached a good middle ground.

    Ok. Guy follows several people. Some follow him back. Guy just had well received directorial outing. Director are being sought after. Could be coincidence. Report as rumor.
    JL had reshoots. Lead actors said they were small. Rumors however say they were massive. Reshoots were supposedly done. Stunt woman says she and stunt woman friends will be going back to a location on a previous film. Location was not used on current film. Current film was not mentioned. Shooting was not mentioned. This is only source. Could possibly for current film reshoots. Perpetuates previous rumors of extensive reshoots.

      This story is worthy of a culture article if he wanted to run it. A stunt woman is meeting two other stunt women in the same place they shot WW. JL was not mentioned. Any shooting was not mentioned. JL didn't even film there. BMNews picked it up first and others hopped on. What do they all have in common? They each set it up as JL shoots are the most reasonable explanation, and as you can see in this article, people ate it up. Despite the obvious reading being that they were having reunion between themselves, people wanted it to be reshoots. I don't think any additional photography is a problem, but you've got to admit this is ridiculous and the ways it's been reported is more ridiculous.

      Shooting some type of pick up scene is easily the most reasonable explanation. WW is their hottest commodity right now. The marketing for the movie has shifted more toward her. There's an article about more footage with Wright's character. It's the easiest conclusion to deduce.
      Next would be some tie in with Aquaman, as it was stated here that's where some filming is occurring.
      Just because they are obvious conclusions doesn't mean they are the correct one. Quite frankly, aside from keeping the JL movie in the news for certain circles, it doesn't really matter...except to those that value it as important.

      In the instagram posted with this specific article, there's nothing about JL, Aquaman, working or about vacationing. If she stated there was no filming to be done & this is an R&R gathering, it's in a separate post that doesn't appear with this article.
      The only thing I'm carrying uphill is not ruling out any possibilities until I can rule out specific possibilities. It's no different then how I approach any situation with limited information.

      We know Aquaman is filming there. We know there were reshoots for JL. It's been reported JL will have more WW related scenes. We don't know there will be zero credit scenes. We don't know there will be zero Amazon related scenes in Aquaman. We know at least 3 of the Amazonian cast members will be in the same location they filmed their WW scenes. We don't know this is purely a pleasure trip. We don't know this is purely a work trip.

      As far as I've been aware, the reshoots & post-production for Avengers were completed for the Hollywood premiere on 4/11/12. They filmed & added the shawarma scene for the general release 5/4/12. A movie which also involved Whedon.
      JL didn't shoot in Italy, but both WW & Aquaman filmed there.
      Since this gathering hasn't actually occurred yet & we have a microscope of information from one post, can't objectively rule out the possibility of a quick bit added to transition JL into Aquaman. Can't objectively rule out a scene is to be added to Aquaman itself.
      More possible then probable, but not a baseless speculation.

      That's because they are two completely different rumors with the Rick Famuyiwa having way more validity to it than this article. Directors/Actors/Writers following producers/production companies social media because they're working together was happening quite often at the time. Especially with WB/DC. Yeah JL had reshoots, and she's worked for them before, but outside of that, nothing in this woman's post connects her trip to reshooting for JL. And you have a lot of really good articles and have shared some great spec pieces that have turned out to be true. I just think the article could have been handled better. Changing the Headline is a good start, but I have to agree that this article is a bit of a reach It felt a like a slow news day post for clicks. . Of course people prefer good news to come true from speculation, and people should understand that bad news will happen too. But his opinion on this subject has less validity than some of his other articles and was posted with a misleading headline before he changed it.
And if this rumor was true, why should we be happy with WB? Because they would be spending even more money on sending stunt women (along with all the other crew, sets, equipment, etc) we have no idea if they even worked on JL during principle photography? To shoot at a location they never used in principle photography, but easily recreated on a sound stage? Because they would be STARTING shooting the scenes for whatever this would be for around a month and a half before the films release date?
I don't care that reshoots happen, they always do with films like this. People just tired of articles with no real validity to them on a subject that feels like it's beaten a dead horse. A long with the fact that Chris has been reporting on comic book films for a very long time, and knows a lot about how these films are made, and with no proof other than his own opinion, has the audacity to say that reshoots at this point in time is more likely than three girlfriends who worked together at least once in a DCEU film visiting Italy together. That's just bad writing on his part.

Not a lot of vfx is still a lot of work, however small, they need to match the rest of the movie, edit and cut, add sound effects, and so on, two months is not enough for a movie like JL to keep adding stuff

  Curious as to how you know this. JL is a tent pole film. WB is a major movie studio. If anything, "a movie like JL", has the capacity to get it done in two months. We've seen this done before. Not too long ago with Rogue One that had MAJOR reshoots compared to the "reported" minimal on this film.

    Rouge reshoots we're locked by August for a December release. If JL is still shooting they still need to edit the new stuff and add it to the rest of the film. They don't have two months, they need time for test audience, distribution and marketing, and ratings. All the artist are most likely busting their ass already with all the new stuff, you can just add more peeps, it takes sometimes.e to ramp up and catch up. I've worked on TV stuff, vfx and 3d, so I'm familiar to what happens. There is a lot of steps to get something added. No matter how much money WB/DC throws at it, the clock is ticking fast for opening night, and stress isn't a friend of quality

I personally don't pay attention to RT, that's a basket of hate. But I know it can affect the viewership. I'll watch JL no matter, but if Chris is right, (and I agree with his speculation) the quality of th movie will suffer, either the scene won't flow or it won't match the movie's aesthetic and itll be noticable. It's too late in the game

This doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The movie comes out in little over 2 months...There's no way they can still be shooting and have the movie out by November. The entire movie was finished almost a year ago before Zack left and the reshoots were all finished just a month ago. They are into full post production now and probably near finished or actually finished with all production. They need to send the master tapes as early as next month to different forms of the media, along with certification, ratings, etc.

But people shouldn't be attacking Chris. This site is to report ALL DC related news. Doesn't mean it's right or wrong. It's just "press" Take it in, enjoy, and speculate. Don't get so bent up about everything.

When the toxic rumor all over the internet has to do with JL getting reshoots changing the whole movie, an article like this not only does not presents real evidence, or even hints at the matter to 'speculate', it only fuels the fire, this is not a 'director following actor on Twitter' to play detective with, and JL is already in post, in 2 months will release, how can they film 'in less than 3 weeks' from now and make it on time?.
I wonder if you'll rectify if this turns out to be just a holiday from three work friends, as a credit to it, it could be a training appointment for the future sequel since she hastags #training #stuntactor, but Justice League added here is truly reaching.

If it's a quick credit scene, does it need months to shot & added? The Hollywood premiere of the Avengers was April 11th. On April 12th, they shot the shawarma scene & the final product was released May 4th.
