First look at Teen Titans #12 and Dark Nights: Metal tie-ins

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's bonkers, insanely fun rock and roll event Metal kicked off this week, promising some melt-your-face-off action and some deep-dives into DC's history and Multiverse. It's not all fun and games, though: a mysterious mountain has appeared in the middle of Gotham City, leaving the city in a state of disarray, and the ominous coming of the Knights of the Dark Multiverse lends the air a sense of dread.

To prep for what's coming, DC have released some first looks at the "Gotham Resistance" kickoff in Teen Titans #12, as well as some new looks at some of the Dark Nights one-shots. We get more details on the Murder Machine and the Red Death, as well as a first look at the Dawnbreaker. Not going to lie: I kind of love this Batman/Green Lantern hybrid look.

There's a playfulness I like (however dark) in the facial expression on that Fabok cover. His stuff is usually entirely grim, so it's nice to see a break from the usual.

These look awesome, but as always, I'm slightly disappointed Detective Comics and Red Hood don't get involved more- I get that Tynion has to deal with Tim before Doomsday Clock, but Red Hood hasn't been involved in any Bat-event since Rebirth

  With how excellent RHATO has been, I'm fine not having the book cross over. Still might be nice to have the character included in some of what's going on, for sure. But if not, I'm glad we've got RHATO.

    It's like with Cyborg and the Titans. Cyborg is as much a Titan as Red Hood is a member of the Bat-Family. But both characters are being excluded from their respective groups. However, with regards to both characters, events appear to be in motion to restore them to the fold. RHATO is going up against the Batwoman and the 'Tec Team in the near future. And with regards to Vic, writers keep hinting that his Titans past will return (The Button showed fragments of the full timeline- including Barry's death and the founding of the League that didn't include Cyborg (but did include Martian Manhunter).
