'Batman: Mask of the Phantasm' is finally getting a HD remaster on Blu-ray

To some hardcore fans, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is the greatest Batman movie ever made. The 1993 movie has only been available on VHS and DVD, but next month it's getting the HD remaster on Blu-ray that it deserves!

Warner Archive announced on Twitter that the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Blu-ray will be available "next month", but no specific release date was given. Update: A listing on Amazon and WB Shop says that the movie will be out on July 25.

It's Warner Archive releasing it, so probably not. They're notorious for bare bones releases.

So gonna buy this as soon as it comes out add to my small blu ray collection of Batman, Batman Returns and for some reason The Green Hornet. My dream is they do a special screening in major cities never got to go see this on the big screen as a kid don't think it played anywhere near my small town.

I was waiting actual extras together, and i'm little sad to see nothing else beyond the trailer. But i'm happy anyway to see the movie (finally) in blu ray!

Not going to happen.

The difference between the series and this Mask of the Phantasm is that the movie was made on film, whereas the series was made in digital sd.

I'd settle for a DVD rerelease of BTAS.
The JLs were done in HD, weren't they? ISTR they were at least letterboxed when they were broadcast.

God, give me a big box set of Bruce Timm- complete BTAS, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, JL &JLU remastered in the best possible quality with or without bonus features and I'd be beyond happy. The shows are worthy enough of such lavish treatment.

BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES will be 25 years this fall. It's as timeless, beautiful and important to the Batman mythos as the films. No TV animation has had such an impact.

We need B:TAS to be re-released in Blu-ray. Or even just re-mastered if that's impossible.

I've waited patiently for years to read this news. Thank you Batman-news and WB!! This movie is my number 1 batman film (live-action and Toons combined). Beautiful film, one I cannot wait to rewatch in beautify HD. Wooohoo.
