SPOILERS: Something important happens in Batman #24 and if you Google it, you're gonna get spoiled

In tomorrow's Batman #24 *comic chief crashes through skylight and shouts into bullhorn* blah blah blah, this is Andrew Asberry protecting you from spoilers some more because the first couple lines of text in any of our articles always show up in a preview blahblahblah. Yeah, I also changed the headline. Doot-doot-doo...The mint chocolate Hershey's bar is finally back after 20 years but it's only at Wal-Mart, what's up with that? And speaking of things coming back after 20 years-- Twin Peaks. Lots of crazy stuff on Twin Peaks. Anyway, this should be enough stalling to keep this off the preview page *vanishes*

In tomorrow's Batman #24, Batman is going to pop the big question to Catwoman!

In the preview images in the gallery below, you can see the Dark Knight get down on one knee with a ring in his hand, asking Catwoman to "Marry me".

This is great. She better say yes. King better not have Bruce propose and then do the flashback story for months only to have Selina say no. I hope that Selina is a good Step-Mom to Damian.

  Yeah, Talia got with Jason and Bane too. She probably got with others also that I'm not thinking of. I've always preferred Bruce with Selina rather than Talia. I do love that Talia gave him a son though, Damian is my 2nd favorite character.

Ughhhhhhhh, so not here for this! I mean I know we are never supposed to admit if we are being shallow, but screw it. I h a t e this pairing, I have not liked them as pair since BTAS. I would prefer him with almost anyone else other than Selina at this point. DC had a rule during the New52 no one was allowed to be married, if they rescinded it for this trash I regret thinking it was silly. I want to like Tom King's Batman, but he just seems to be hammering on with reasons for me to hate it.

Than again this might also just be comic clickbait or it gets retconned right out when they realize it was a shit idea. If so please disregard the aimless rage.

I hope they kill Catwoman off, because they are just awful together. That pairing already ruined Hush for me. Or Heart of Hush. They also aren't that close in New52 like Pre52, so that comes out of nowhere. (Having sex on a rooftop doesn't necessarily lead into marriage) Or are some Pre52 stories suddenly canon again just to make it logical?

the results of superman reborn erased the new 52 and made the Pre 52 cannon again in a new reformulated time line that merged elements from the new 52 and pre 52 into a new continuity.

  No. It is still New52 timeline with New52 character background etc., but with some Pre52 characters returning. Rebirth = New52 with Pre52 characters and some characters like Batman and Flash are remembering Pre52, but not all characters.

    We usually agree, but I must tell you that this time you're wrong. The continuity is in flux right now and wont be set until after "Doomsday Clock". But right now, we are definitely no longer in the "New 52" timeline.

the only character that had his history nearly unchanged with new 52 was Batman; the only thing changing was some origin of irrelevant characters and some changes in the characters ages

  No. New52 changed as good as every character. Some of them you don't even recognize like Harley or Batgirl. New52 Batman also changed, since he is way more positive than normal Batman. Not to mention the countless backstories of villains that were changed. I wouldn't call any of them irrelevant, since New52 messed up every character. Many Pre52 stories aren't canon anymore like No Mans Land and even Knightfall, since Knightfall doesn't work without Azrael, but in New52/ Rebirth timeline Batman just met Azrael in Batman and Robin Eternal. So I really don't know how you guys can say, that Pre52 is canon again, since it is obviously not.

    Ummm, DC has confirmed that Pre-New 52 is canon again, that was the whole point of Rebirth, so yeah, stories like Year One, Hush, Knightfall etc. are back in continuity.

      At the start of Rebirth, more specifically they they're planning to harmonise Pre-New 52 and New 52 into one, keeping the best from both continuities, (though from what I've seen mostly Pre-New 52) the best example is "Superman Reborn". As for the Batman mythos, is shown from flashbacks in previous issues that the storylines I've mentioned are back in canon.

      I don't know about about Heart of Hush, but Batman Eternal made Hush cannon in New 52, so it's definitely cannon now.

      They didn't say that at all. Again Rebirth only brought some old characters back like Wally, but not the old timeline. Batman remembers Pre52 since he talked with Flash, but everyone else doesn't. In no event It is stated that Pre52 is canon again. Characters are still like they are in New52. Best example for that is Harley.I think you guys got something totally wrong with Rebirth. Even the button event proves you wrong. Pre52 is also not mentioned there. Batman and Robin Eternal was written by Snyder. Therefore Knightfall and No Mans Land aren't canon anymore, so is Hush due to Batman Eternal.It is still the New52 timeline with New52 characters. Batmans character changed a lot in New52/ Rebirth. Old Batman would never trust people as easy he does in New52/Rebirth. Read his old stories and you understand why I say he changed. The Doomsday Clock might mix New52/ Pre52 and clear up the Watchmen thing, but that's in November. Up until now it is still New52. They just call it Rebirth now.

      Geoff Johns described the 80-page one-shot as "re-laying the groundwork for DC's future while celebrating the past and present. It's not about throwing anything away. It's quite the opposite." On the initiative, which was described as a rebirth of the DC Universe, Johns call Rebirth more "in the same vein as Green Lantern: Rebirth and The Flash: Rebirth. Some things alter and change, but it's more character-driven, and it's also more about revealing secrets and mysteries within the DC Universe about "Flashpoint" and The New 52 that are part of a bigger tapestry." The Rebirth initiative will reintroduce concepts from pre-Flashpoint continuity, such as legacy, that were lost with The New 52 and build "on everything that's been published since Action Comics #1 up thru The New 52." Lee said that Johns "came up with this brilliant story [for the DC Universe: Rebirth Special] that basically allows us to seat the New 52 within the continuity that preceded it. So it really synchronizes and harmonizes pre-52 with New 52 continuity".
      Also, Knightfall and Year One were shown on flashbacks during the " I am Bane" and "Rooftoops" storyline respectively.

      Yes he said that, but if you read the current stories, you see that Pre52 isn't back. Harley obviously isn't her Pre52 self, so are most Batman villains. Nightwing doesn't remember Pre52, since Superman was even telling him in one issue, that the Nightwing he knew took care of Bloodhaven. Knightfall obviously can't be canon for 100% since Batman just met Azrael, who is essential for Knightfall. So Banes first attack on Batman still happened in New52/Rebirth, but obviously not the entire storyline. Same goes for No Mans Land, what never happened in New52/Rebirth. Not to mention the New Gods, who are still totally messed up since they were first introduced in New52. If it would be Pre52 none of this would be. Maybe Johns has still plans for the timeline in the Doomsday Clock story. Would be nice to have Pre52 back, but only if it is done right, what means, that everything New52/ Rebirth related would be annihilated. I doubt that will happen. They stick to the New52/Rebirth timeline/ characters up until now.

      That's what I'm trying to say, it's not Pre-52 timeline nor New 52 timeline anymore, it's Rebirth timeline, which is a mix of both. Harley for example had her pre52 character (costume,stories,being submited to joker) before transisting to the new 52 (new costume, supporting cast, more independent) and some stories from the new 52 have been completely thrown out of canon to make room for pre-52 elements

      No Harley still wasn't anything alike Pre52 as she was in New52. There might have been the Gotham City Sirens, but Harley still wasn't so out of character like she currently is in New52. Just look at her series. Her No Mans Land origin story was still canon back then, while it isn't now. Where was it ever mentioned that New52 stories were thrown out? Detective Comics itself proves you wrong, so does the Nightwing series and the Batman series. Rebirth only brought some characters back, not old stories. If so Detective Comics wouldn't exist. And even future events prove you wrong since the Riddler vs. Joker Event takes Place in the past and this didn't happen Pre52. Pre52 there would be no reason for Joker and Riddler fighting. Or Allstar Batman perfectly proves, that Pre52 is gone for good. Just look at how much Two Face was changed in Rebirth. It isn't a combination of old and new stories at all. The current series prove you wrong. They just called it Rebirth, but actually it isn't a Rebirth at all. That's why I still don't like Rebirth, like so many do, since actually not much has changed in Rebirth.

      The Superman-Wonder Woman romance, Batman:Superheavy, pretty much everything from Wonder Woman New 52, all gone, and there have been changes to character origins that weren't canon in the New 52.

      Batmans character has severely changed. He is way too open to other people. He trusts his enemies more. But that's just not Batman. He is also so often out of character in New52/Rebirth. Like everyone is. Batman and Robin Eternal was written by Snyder and it is currently canon. Therefore Knightfall and all the other Pre52 stories aren't canon anymore.

      i agree, they have turned batman soft, most likely to both tell stories like court of owls (like Morrison's Batman could have dealt with the court in one issue! they wouldn't even exist if it was him!) and to make room for other side characters to develop out of his failures (which i highly detest and oppose
      "was written by Snyder" check again, Snyder was only the assistant writer of the first few issues, most likely because he was still hand holding his side kick tynion, but the whole plotting and most of the writing was by tynion (it's also could apparent from the cover aswell, where tynion's name comes before snyder's on the cover)

      Still DC agreed to the story, which is even continued in one of the main series. Tynions writing is canon currently, what makes Knightfall and No Mans Land not canon anymore. (Unfortunately)
      I also think Pre52 Batman would have never brought so many new guys in like he does in New52/Rebirth. Steph almost died Pre52 after all, because she wasn't good enough. So I doubt he would trust Harper or Duke so easy. And especially not Clayface, whose face turn came out of nowhere.

      Well that's been a big criticism of the character over the past few years. For many people Batman became so distrustful and so bitter and so alienated as a character that they couldn't latch on to him or sympathize with him anymore.
      Bottom line if things are never going to get better for the character. If he's never going to move Beyond where he is right now then what's the point of even becoming attached to the character in the first place? ( similar to criticisms of Spider-Man after the events of one more day, as well as the version of Superman in the dceu)
      The whole point of the Lego Batman movie was basically a big middle finger to the Idea of Batman as a " loner who won't deal with his issues out of fear of being hurt". And for many people that's not who Batman should be.
