New looks at Dark Days: The Forge and The Casting

Summer is here, and that means Metal is coming soon. Leading up to the long-awaited reunion of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Snyder will be teaming up with 'Tec scribe James Tynion IV on the prelude titles Dark Days: The Forge and Dark Days: The Casting. Joined by an all-star artistic team that includes Jim Lee, John Romita, Jr. and Andy Kubert, the one-shots will lay the groundwork leading to the six-issue limited series that Snyder has called "insane."

Check out the massive preview gallery below, which includes some variant covers, preview pages from The Forge, and even some sketches and breakdowns. Crazy as it sounds, it looks like these books will have something for everyone: Batman in a robot, Hawk-people, Hal Jordan getting kicked in the face. Everything you could want and more.

Dark Days: The Forge will release June 14, followed by Dark Days: The Casting in July and Dark Nights: Metal in August.

People are going to freak over Duke kicking Hal in the face, but I'm just laughing because the yellow costume makes it an unintentional ASBAR reference.

  All in jest. If it were any other Lantern I wouldn't have made a comment, I just like poking fun at Hal "my defining characteristic is other people saying how awesome I am" Jordan. I love Kyle, John, Kilowog, Rot Lop Fan, Simon, Jessica, and even (especially) Guy. No offense intended. Hope you enjoy these books.
