Michael Keaton praises Tim Burton, talks Batman vs. Spider-Man

Michael Keaton starred as Batman 28 years ago in Tim Burton's Batman. Now he's making his way back to the world of superheroes as the villain in July's Spider-Man: Homecoming. Keaton was a guest on Ellen today and was asked what the difference is between the two movies.

"One's a bat and the other's a spider," Keaton joked. His real answer is that the way the movies are made are much different, though in the clip below his full answer appears to be edited out. Keaton took time to praise director Tim Burton before talking about what it was like working with Marvel on Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Earlier this year, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland said that Micheal Keaton would say "I'm Batman" during their fight scenes, and recite other Batman lines as well.

Michael Keaton is a great actor and was a pleasant surprise as Batman and until BvS he wore my favorite cowl on film but Nolan's trilogy ruined him and Burtons movies for me, I can't even take them seriously anymore and I know some still love those movies and that's cool but the cartoony stuff just doesn't cut it for me anymore. I have ZERO doubts that he will be great in Spider-Man.

Still the best Batman.

WB should greenlight a Batman Returns sequel (ignoring Schumacher continuity) and bring back Keaton and Burton.
I'd love to see a scene where Keaton decends into the cave a pulls off a tarp covering THAT Batmobile...

Batman '89 is the first movie I ever remember seeing in the theater. Through the Batman cereal giveaway, I sent away for a solid black Batman t-shirt with a holographic Batman logo on the chest. I waited for what seemed like months for that shirt to arrive. I vividly remember playing on a 6 ft tall basketball goal in my garage when it finally arrived. I loved that short and wish I still had it today.

This, along with watching Batman '66 at my grandparents' house as a child is what I remember about where my fandom started. Seeing Catwoman in Batman Returns probably made me think for the first time, "yowzas, she's hot!" as an eleven year old. I strayed away as I grew older but Batman Begins was what got me back into the character and mythology.

Having the DK trilogy and what we have now...it's amazing. I've supported the DCEU through all the backlash and now with Wonder Woman, I feel like being a fan is finally going to be easier lol. The DCEU and those making the films feel like a tight-nit family of people that want to do the characters justice (pun intended) and I'm ecstatic for the future.

Michael has been awesome in so many of his films. Comedy, drama, anything. I'm glad he's the main villain in this film!
