In March when Warner Bros. was building up hype for the Justice League trailer, they released a teaser video that included an iconic shot of Batman on top of a gargoyle. As it turns out, Justice League cinematographer Fabian Wagner loved that shot as well.

Wagner posted an image of that epic Batman shot on Instagram today, and said shooting it was the most fun he's ever had! "No doubt the most fun day I ever had shooting and one of my favourite shots," he wrote.

I cannot wait to see all of the iconic Batman imagery that Fabian Wagner and director Zack Snyder put into Justice League. The movie hits theaters on November 17th.

          This IS a gargoyle, as it is fixed to a building to convey water from it. These don´t just look spooky, they serve a structural function.

    It's a shame Larry Fong didn't do this movie, but it seems Wagner is a good replacement. And yeah, that shot is classic Batman through and through.

      I feel that more work on the contrast, not only in colors, but in personality, views, actions and ways of being a hero between Batman and Superman would be a fairly easy (without needing major edits on the plot) and quick way to improve BvS by a good bit. Hopefully this gets more attention in the future.

      I have to disagree... it may not be contrasting look wise... but through characters personalities you get a real feel of the different cities.... the conversation betweeen Bruce and Clark at Lexs benefit... perry whites comment about "crime wave in Gotham in other news water...wet", the volatile rivalry between the metropolis and Gotham football game as shown by the tv the Gotham cops are watching, everytime you see low income housing or rundown buildings... it's in Gotham. there is quite a contrast between cities in BVS you just have to draw your own conclusions from what's given as opposed to it being spoonfed...it's the little details that truly fill in the gaps.... even something as when Clark goes to Gotham he sees a man testing his luck on a scratch off ticket.... that's something an everyday person would do.... metropolis is the white coller, corporate capital to gothams Everyman.... exactly like New Jersey and New York City or Oakland and San Francisco... etc

        The sister city thing is from Silver Age canon btw. and the CG team did an amazing job with the 3D models they did. The shots match each other shockingly well if you compare then side by side.
        My favorite visual take on the city is still Gotham.

            Yep, Gotham on Fox (8/10). The sets are an A+.
            Anton Furst´s 1989 designs finally found a better, as this city looks "lived in", unlike his beautiful sound stage.

            Nope, i had the regular one. A whole year of that run was printed in black and white here in Germany though.
            DC´s 2017 comic event Metal will have crazy metal covers too, consider one.

        Listen man I know you are not excited because you're not a fan of Snyder but look at it this way. Batman has endured for years on screen. In Ten years time a reboot will happen that you may love and you have all the other media that appeal to you, comics, books,games TV and film ect. Try not to be so negative and more constructive. It will make you feel better trust me. If you surround yourself with cynical negative people all the time, you will become cynical and negative. You gotta watch yourself.

      Check out Red Letter Media slaggin the JL trailer. Those guys are hilarious and probably the best critics on YouTube. I can't wait for this film but you gotta laugh

        Ah yes, that trailer remark in the new GotG Vol.2 review. GotG 2014 clearly invented using music in comic films. Not Watchmen or The Crow. BvS is also comparable to AIDs, which is a direct quote.

        Their first 4 Star Wars editorial are very insightful, the same goes for the Titanic review and many of the VHS round tables are downright classic but the overall channel now de-evolved to something way worse than the competitors they love to make fun off.

            There is a good reason why their core fanbase calls them lazy hacks.

            Is that why they made an entire Half in the Bag about Life and Power Rangers, two flops? Must also be why they made an episode about Shut In and Arrival (arrival's a great fucking movie, but it wasn't nearly that popular to generate clicks by itself). Also: Blair Witch and Don't Breathe, Green Room, Hardcore Henry, Me Him Her and 10 Cloverfield Lane, and plenty more.
            Have you ever even seen any of their videos besides going to their channel and seeing the titles or did you get all that from Reddit?

          Sorry, but they know their shit regarding movie criticism, a lot more than you do, I'll tell you that. You keep trying to sound reasonable and fair, but you are extremely biased regarding these dc movies, and it shows every single time.

    I know this a “cool” shot, and I understand why people love it. It's just too fake. The over-the-top CGI and filtering takes me out of the experience. It looks like a FMV from Arkham Knight. Give me an earnest and authentic shot with minimal/no CGI any day.

        Then why not just read a comic book? Different mediums are subject to different types of criticism. A fake looking shot is a detriment to a film, every single time. You can like it, without a doubt, but it is something that looks fake, and therefore it will take you out of the movie. To quote Mr. Harry Plinkett: "You may not have noticed it, but your brain did".

    I'm not surprised it's his favourite it is absolutely fuckin glorious. I've certainly read a fair few batman comics but I think this shot is great because it feels very different, it looks original and it is also iconic yet at the same time completely screams Batman.

    My favorite DCEU sequence, from a visual standpoint, is the Metropolis battle. Specifically the shot where Superman flies after Zod though a crumbling building, with the camera turning over 360 degrees behind him.

    Snyder confirmed the connection. This specific scene proved to me than straight out anything can now be accomplished with CG. The lack of at least a Vfx Oscar nomination is truly mind-boggling to me.
    Even Bayfomers got those, deservedly so.
