NBC cancels DC Comics office comedy 'Powerless'

Update 05/11/17: NBC has officially announced that Powerless has been canceled.

NBC has removed Powerless, the office comedy set in the DC Comics universe, from their schedule and replaced it with reruns of Superstore. The DC comedy premiered in February and had just two episodes left to air this season.

While an official cancellation announcement hasn't come from NBC yet, a tweet from Powerless executive producer Patrick Schumacker suggests that the end is here.

#Powerless will not air this week or next. This, I know for sure. I can guess some other things but they're not good. Thanks for watching.

Earlier today Warner Bros. announced a new DC Comics streaming TV service would launch in 2018. A show like Powerless seems perfect for that. Perhaps we'll see it come back one day.

  You could say the same about Firefly. It never got a pilot rewrite but both had an identical life after that. Schedule slips, wrong ep. orders, you name it.

I figured this was coming, but it's still kind of upsetting. Powerless was really coming into its own over the last few episodes and it gave me a glimmer of hope that it might be enough to keep the show alive for a little while longer. Oh well. It would definitely be nice to see it come back on that new streaming service

      Because the station fucked with it since day one.
      Just look at Chuck Lorre shows. The last ting i will call them is "quality" but they made CBS billions.

We really need a "mature" HBO-like TV Show. DC must do it, cause the actual TV Univers is a mess. Snyder may help us, haha!

    After seeing Season 2, I beg to differ. Electra sucked like sweat on a dog's balls. The only thing decent about the season was Punisher and Karen Page.

Very deceptive article title. Should have been "NBC removes DC Comics office comedy ‘Powerless’ from schedule". Yes, this probably means it is cancelled, but it isn't "officially" yet. Also, it had three more episodes to air, not two (9 have aired, 12 were ordered).

  The actors probably won't be out of a job (Alan Tudyk especially), but the writers probably will never get any more writing for the rest of their lives because of this atrocity.

I didn't watch past episode 2. I always try really hard to give a show up to 5 episodes, but it was just too awful to stomach. I laughed at maybe one joke each episode. I guess since it's pretty much done, I should catch up sometime soon.

I think of the shows DC needs to bring to its new streaming service, Powerless (even if new and highly improved from what I saw) would not be at the top of my list. I would much rather a new live action Constantine revival, thank you very much.

The show got good with ep.3 and is now firing on all cylinders. Bad on NBC for forcing rewrites and then just dumping it in the schedule. 30 Rock warned us though...
Someone better grab it. CW, DC digital, anyone? There are reasons why Constantine got canned, as it would have needed retooling, after a retooling. Supergirl though got to live after CBS canned it.

  I thought it would work but i was expecting more of an early day Big Bang Theory type of humour (which granted doesn't appeal to everyone) but intelligently uses its Geek connections to make it more relatable to the audience it would automatically pull in through its origins ,if that makes sense? I get the feeling they were possibly aiming too high and hoping for a more general audience right from the start out instead of being a little more shrewd about it

    it doesnt seem like anyone liked it to be honest. It really didn't seem like big bang theory to me. It seemed like they were trying to sprinkle some batman on "the office"
