Everyone thinks that Bob Kane created Batman, but that’s not the whole truth. One author makes it his crusade to seek justice for Bill Finger, a struggling writer who was the key figure in creating the iconic superhero, from concept to costume to the very character we all know and love. Bruce Wayne may be Batman’s secret identity, but his creator was always a true mystery. Directed and executive produced by Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce.

I'm glad that Bill finger is finally getting some recognition. That's a bunch of crap how Bob Kane took all the glory.

Bob Kane was nothing but a publishing editor bully that summarised the 'pulp' comic strips of that time, just before the Golden Age. Grant Morrison gives the backstory far better than me in his 'Superheroes' historical book.

Finger is The Batman creator. No dispute.

Plus, the celebrity status of Stan Lee is a bit laughable when you consider the story, characters originated from amazing artists, Stans USP was his moral 3rd party narrative that for me was egotistical. Bring on the haters lmao ;)

should add I agreed with those morals of Stan, but in hindsight to me it is bizarre that Claremont, Kirby aren't above Lee in accolade and recognition.

I have read that Spiderman and many of his main elements were created by Steve Ditko, and despiste that, he doesn't get the same recognition that Stan Lee.

It is truly a terrible misconception that Bob is the one who created Batman. I love that Bill is getting the recognition he deserves now! They even started putting his name in the credits for movies and comics, which is great. I'll definitely be watching this doc!

Yeah, that's great. Bill Finger deserves to be recognized for his work. Although, it's a little weird thar it says "Bob Kane WITH Bill Finger", instead of how it says in Superman's credits "created by Joe Shuster AND Jerry Siegel".

  Agreed. The WITH is absolutely asinine. Unbelievable that he doesn't get the credit he deserves. DC needs to start putting some respeck on his name with the AND.

    I think it's a legal thing. This was the only way they could get past Bob Kane's contract of being credited as the sole creator of Batman. http://io9.gizmodo.com/dc-c...

      Such a shame. Thx for that link. May have taken forever but glad he is getting more and more of the true recognition he deserves over the course of time and fans are really starting to put his name at the forefront.
