'Justice League' post-production work forces Jason Momoa to cancel Comic-Con appearance

Sad news for Australian fans who were hoping to see Jason Momoa later this month.

Oz Comic-Con Perth announced that Jason Momoa will not be able to attend their event the weekend of March 25th as originally planned. They say that he's been called into the studio in Burbank, California for additional work on Justice League.

While this will likely spark reshoot speculation, it's possible that Momoa has been called in to provide ADR, the process of re-recording dialogue to improve audio quality. In January, Justice League director Zack Snyder shared a photo of Gal Gadot during her ADR session.

ADR most likely. Anyone who makes a fuzz out of "reshooting" as being something negative, should simply avoid the use of the internet until they stop being an opinionated, ignorant person.

Yeah, Suicide Squad went through reshooting and turned out horrible, Rogue One went through reshooting and turned out great - Rogue One even suffered a lot with negativity and rumors saying it was a mess, even though it wasn't a DCEU movie. Hm, weird, I though that was exclusively a media vs DC thing... - so there's really no pattern. But I believe it's just ADR as well.

  I thought rouge one was ok, it has a really good third act though, it's not really amazing. Also: i think it's ADR too since the latest aquaman's clip show that they are already finishing visual effects for the movie

    Yeah, I may have exaggerated with the "amazing" but I'd still say is great. The third act was indeed very good and funny enough (not really) was the act targeted by almost all of the reshoots.

      I think the rouge one reshoots work because they basically rewrote the entire context whereas suicide squad's reshoots was pretty much to throw in more boring action scenes

      I think the reshoots were mostly for fan service (adding more Darth Vader and all that), which in my opinion brought the movie down. It's like they were treating the audience as simpletons at that point.

      By analyzing what might have changed with these reshoots I think they were beneficial for the film, just a though though. But in the end what matters is that the end product was great, at least in my opinion.

      I'd have appreciated more characterization. At the end I was mostly like "eh... ok... just die already"
      I never really cared for the characters. Of course I loved seeing Vader slashing and dashing, but there was a ton of forced fan service in there that could have really been replaced with more time to develop the characters I think.

      Nah, even though the fan service could've been replaced by more characterization for example, I feel it wasn't enough to become a bad thing. Yes, the movie had a lot of characters to work with leading to lack of character developing etc, mainly for characters that weren't called Jyn or Cassian. But the team Rogue one as a whole still compelled me, probably due to their great, non fabricated and "for a greater good" deaths. I don't know man, I know it has its flaws but I still think is great.

      That's totally fine, I just never really cared for them and completely expected them to die off at the end, so when they did, I was mostly unimpressed.

  Didn't save R1 tho, the characters' decisions don't add up. It's a very flawed film. The only thing it did right was the ending, SPOILERS: after the fucking lead characters have all died mind you I mean LOL

I wouldn´t be surprised if JLA got re-shoots. Many blockbusters need pick up shots of various degrees. As The Avengers. What a flop, eh? Or how about Apocalypse Now, or E.T., or Jaws, or Mad Max: Fury Road, or my favorite film of all time Blade Runner. (That one is actually complicated.)
Back to the Future even had half the film scrapped!
There is also NO way that this film is done in a way that only CG people and editors will be needed. Proper film stars make so few money a year for a reason. They need to keep an open schedule for god know what. Half of the sets are just green walls anyway. They could get a whole movie worth of footage by having people and body doubles come in and out for random clean-up.
PS: The first DC film with major re-shoots should be Superman II.

Umm, BvS did had reshoots, every film ever made had reshoots, especially big budget films, it is pre-scheduled and pre-budgeted. Before internet made it a curse word, reshoots use to be called 'pick ups' and nobody cared or reported anything.

You know how Robert Downey Jr. put Iron Man into the collective conscious?

I believe Jason Momoa will do the same thing with Aquaman. This feels really special to me, in a cultural sense.

I think Aquaman is going to be the break out character of JL. Flash can rival him of course but I think the visual aspect is going to play a large role, Aquaman's is fresh and from what we've seen is going to be mighty impressive stuff
