It may be his 51st birthday, but Justice League director Zack Snyder is hard at work on his upcoming movie.
Snyder just posted footage of Jason Momoa as Aquaman swimming underwater from a scene in Justice League. "Working on my birthday," he said on Twitter. Check out the video below!

They didn’t film underwater, they use cables and cgi hair to recreate underwater, at least that's what i read.
Edit: i mean in Justice League they didn’t use a tank, (i know they used a tank in BvS) that’s what i remember reading.
Here's what i could find about that :
"According to Birth. Movies. Death., Snyder is filming Aquaman’s Justice League scenes in a completely different manner than he did for Dawn of Justice. On the new film, Snyder has set up a rig on a green screen stage, placing Momoa in one arm and the camera in the other. The arms are programmed to move in sync with each other, allowing Momoa to move around while the camera follows him, Momoa's hair will be CGIed into a flowy, underwater look. Nothing’s confirmed yet, but it would seem likely that Wan would use this rig for his project as well"

I meant for Justice League, Batman v Superman used a tank, yes, but this is for Justice League, and i remember someone saying (in the set visit i think) that mostly was going to be wires and CGI because of the BvS 'holding his breath' obviousness, and complicated scenes that would take place underwater and are very hard to pull of in a tank.

Interesting so their not going with the underwater domes. Aquaman is truly going to be unique and something fresh for the comic book genre.
Honestly this kind of looks like Aquaman is approaching a statue or old ruins of Atlantis. I feel like they will probably end up with underwater domes because of how much CGI they would have to use for character interaction between Aquaman, Mera, and possibly other atlanteans characters if they chose to have Atlantis completely in water and not the domes.

Visually looks amazing. I didn't know how they were going to execute the underwater scenes but I can definitely rest easy.
Well the communication is going to be a tricky part.
I would assume that, being Atlantean, one is physiologically built in some way to freely communicate out-loud? Now if Batman were to swim down there, he would have to wear some specialized tech to be able talk with them.
Or they'd have to do something telepathically? That's all I can come-up with creatively.
I think Wan said Snyder is going to try like a sonar type communication and then he'll also try something different. Probably just going to see how people react to it in Justice League.

I don't know what I was expecting exactly, but for some reason I've had my expectations low. Now that I've seen it come to life, I'm like, dude, why wasn't I flipping out with excitement all along?

It is possible that authenticity of life under water may come back and bite Aquaman in the ass. There is no guarantee that those under water scenes will be to the general audience's liking. I mean, it's really hard to look gracious and cool under water. Although, if anyone can make it work, it's James Wan.

(Off topic) I will cry if Matt Reeves scraps the Affleck/Terrio Batman script.
I think if he gets rid of Deathstroke he's scrapped the script, and if not, he's pretty much stuck to the Affleck/Terrio script. I really hope he does.
It's stupid that people think Deathstroke won't be in the movie! I mean they casted him and made a costume
But he has complete control. If he isn't feeling Deathstroke why would he keep him around? If he wants to bin off Deathstroke and make Alfred the villain, he can.

I don't think they should place restrictions on Reeves and force him to execute a vision that he doesn't believe in. Affleck had his opportunity and he blew it.
Behave yourself. He saved this movie by choosing not to direct it. It was too much.
Affleck is basically directing it if he is going to force Reeves to do everything he wants. So do it yourself or let the next guy execute his vision.

The other option is he directs it himself, burns out, the quality of the movie suffers and he pulls out of the role sooner rather than later.
This is Ben Affleck's movie, god damnit. He wrote it, he's the star, and he's producing it.
