This Week in Comics: Batman is a stone-cold killer

So, setting Czarnian physiology aside for a moment, Batman totally blew Lobo's head off in Justice League vs. Suicide #4. While the Main Man won't be down forever, Bats still put him down, and it was spectacular.

"Batwoman Begins" got off to a good and beautiful start in Detective Comics, and Red Hood's first arc concluded with tons of fun. I also got my hands on Dark Horse's Dept. H, and I was blown away. What did you read this week?

The oppressive mood, stylized visuals, and disconnected lettering create a truly haunting atmosphere.

This is a pretty solid opening filled with compelling characters, engaging interactions, beautiful artwork, witty dialogue, and a thought provoking premise that has a hint of real world relevance to it.

Stories that have the introduction of a new costume as the main goal aren´t something to be celebrated, but the 2 teams are obviously great. Meaning that more is coming within.
The only new bit are the "improved" belt and the identical looking boots are now finally colored red. The boots are of importance as that was the Rebirth suit´s single flaw.
What you should have noticed instead is that Oz isn´t the villain in the crossover.

New Superman finally got to use it´s full potential with No.7 as the decent enough origin bit is done now. Morrison´s underappreciated Great Ten is also started to be used but the real highlight was the art.
The highly expressive faces would befit a Josei manga. The book´s sales aren´t too heartening though...
Daredevil also started to fire on all cylinders again, due to the very dark turn the last arc took.
Foolkiller is lastly another quality book none looks at, as all the other Deadpool spin-offs are crap, but the teams needs to be put on another higher profile comic. So much untapped primatial.

Loved New Super-Man. Easy for me to let it fall to the side because of everything I'm reading, but whenever I pick it up again, it's a delight.

  "Love" is a strong word, as i expect more from Gene Luen Yang than a solid book but he finally climbed that mountain and made me care overall. I don´t ask myself anymore why DC isn´t doing a Super Young Team book instead. Let´s see how long the book can go on and how exactly it will tie into the main Super-line. Kenan is being hunted after all.
  Superwoman is also pretty good but Supergirl isn´t the best, despite a top tier writer.

I use this column on a weekly basis to point out Marvel books of interests... Our real "enemy".
Don´t worry. Bad ones too. The 2nd half of Civil War II and the current run of Hydra Cap (i like the idea itself!) got my blood boiling. They are currently publishing 2 Cap book i ain´t reading, despite being a big fan of the character. WTF? Let´s not even start on the X-men.
Superman Rebirth though, that´s how you do it. It has been over a decade since both his books were top tier at one.
