NBC has released a new promotional video for their upcoming DC Comics comedy Powerless, and we're introduced to Van Wayne... Bruce Wayne's cousin, played by Alan Tudyk.
Van Wanye is the head of Wayne Security, a Wayne Enterprises company, and can be heard talking to his cousin "B Dubs" on the phone. Check out the new video above. It even features music from a Batman v Superman trailer.
Powerless premieres Thursday, February 2 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

I would still give it a try. The cast is really good hopefully it would still be good.
Bruce Wayne's cousin is played by Alan Tudyk he is a good actor.
Same even though i said i will probably stay away from this he might be enough to make me watch at least an episode or two i just don't see this show being a good idea is all. I thought Krypton was a big stretch for doing a DC show, Powerless seems to be an even bigger stretch to me.
Which appears to be the only good thing about it, and one actor cannot save a show...
I feel like they're doing this just for the extra views not because of anything with the plot.

They haven't aired in America yet, have they? On-demand only has the first 4 Djinn episodes.
WB, please start thinking about making some DC shows on HBO. Start small, and build it from there... Because making shows like this is just making your property look terrible. Marvel has the shitty Agents of Shield show and Agent Carter's already been cancelled, but at least they have some kickass shows on Netflix! Arrow has been getting better this season, but nowhere near Season 2, and was an absolute embarassment in seasons 3 and 4, Flash is great but getting quickly repetitive, and Gotham is only good to laugh at... Can't talk about Supergirl because I gave up on it in it's first season... Oh and Legends of Tomorrow looks more and more like the guys in charge of Arrow and Flash wanted to give the secondary actors more to do, so throw them all in one show for themselves, but it really is redudant.
I don't know, I just want a DC show that I can't wait for the next episode, and that hasn't happened since Flash's first season and Arrow's second season...
You have one of the best networks at your disposal, just do it!
"Marvel has the shitty Agents of Shield show" Um S2-S4 have been great with the recent Ghost Rider arc in S4 being fantastic.
I haven't watched Season 4 yet, gave up on it on season 3. But if it's as "excellent" as seasons 2 and 3 like you say, then I'll pass. It's pointless, nothing big or consequential ever happens on that show, and frankly, having a Ghost Rider that's not Johnny Blaze? Even with Johnny I'd be pretty uninterested, let alone not having him.
I don't know how/why Marvel's Netflix shows are so amazing compared to their joke TV shows.
Well, because it's made by Netflix, primarily. The others are on ABC, which is a joke of a network.
Netflix don't make anything, they're just distributors. All Marvels shows are made by Marvel themselves and ABC.
Yeah, DC TV is extremely weak and feels the need to pander to the teeny bopper demographic on the CW, while it feels like a mutated Burtonverse on Fox (i.e. Gotham). We need quality DCEU-related shows on a good network, or Netflix.

Van Wayne is actually a reference to an obscure character from the Silver Age that only appeared in one issue named Vanderveer Wayne.
I'm aware. Just Kane is more in line with the current canon.

I ain´t exited either but i will hold you to this assessment. It´s the bland US Sitcoms that last the longest... The writers clearly read comics and they certainly hit the DC wiki hard with "Vanderveer Wayne". So there is that. Watch the failed 90s JLA pilot to see a real hate crime. Or Steel, or Supergirl 1984, or Superman IV, or the 40s serial for Bats + Supes. Or...
This show is nearly incapable of entering the top 10 worst DC adaptations.

His "cousin" is Batwoman in the books and he may have an older brother too, with Owlman. His dead N52 uncle Philip Kane isn´t much different Van Wanye tough.
Not that this show looks promising but this new character IS working in the clip i must admit.

Ugh, give us a Question, Titans, the Outsiders or an actual Green Arrow gritty street-level show not this filler nonsense. Why isn't Geoff Johns doing quality control in his CCO capacity to direct all resources towards useful DC media and not something this frivolous and unnecessary? This is why the whole "Johns is gonna save the DCEU" crap is misguided - he was a consultant for Green Lantern as well as the cheesy soap opera CW shows.

Wasn't Thomas and Martha Wayne both only Childs, leaving Bruce with no other family? Hence why Alfred had to at as guardian. Where is this cousin coming from?
Actually no, Batwoman is Bruce's cousin, on his mother's side though. So I guess you have a point.

Martha has at least 1 brother and Thomas has a sister. Even Bruce has a lost brother too, in multiple canons. Also look up, i just found Van on the DC wiki! The Wayne and Kane comic likes are very complicated and Damian himself just got a cousin.
Would have made more sense if he were a Kane....
Who in their right mind decided that there should be a comedy closely related to Bruce Wayne/Batman? They might've done better with a Beast Boy related one, or Plastic Man. Batman wasn't created to bring out the humor in people.
This could be DC's mocking of Agents of SHIELD with a fun Office/Boston Legal twist. Just wait and see.

Vanderveer was part of the DC canon till 1986. He was only in 1 comic but that is all it takes.
The N52 Owlman is based on a equally obscure character from the 70s and he went places.

It´s NBC, they never make sense, but a dumb as bricks sitcom isn´t out of place in their tv line. I say it gets at least 2 seasons. So much brand appeal, in therms of theme and actors, is buried here.

It´s from the comics, technically. He also had a biological son 2006 and the same year saw the instruction of his his cousin Batwoman too. He also had 4 adopted children before 2011.
People call the Bat-Family a "family" for a reason. The idea itself is sound.

You do know that JL Action had some of the best DC animated people attached right? It looked like a slam dunk form day one. 8,5/10 "Under A Red Sun" is the best one so far.
