Last weekend at Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans, Arrow stars Stephen Amell and David Ramsey answered questions from the fans. With Superman appearing on Supergirl on The CW recently, the stars of Arrow were asked if Batman could ever show up down the line.

"I think for sure Bruce Wayne," Ramsey said. "I would love to see these two guys at a table together just like 'sup Bruce', 'sup Oliver'. You know what I mean? And duke it out, like no utility belt, no arrows, just hand to hand, man."

So far so good. It would be pretty cool to have Bruce Wayne show up on Arrow one day. Here's where things turn to fantasy, however...

When asked who would play Bruce Wayne, Ramsey said "Listen, I would love, honestly? I would love for Ben to play Bruce Wayne. Yeah, have him on the show, why not join the universes? That would be dope, just like, how big would that be? Bruce Wayne, Oliver Queen, Ben Affleck."

Apparently Ramsey didn't get the memo that the DC TV universes and movie universes are separate. It's why when Superman showed up on TV last year, they cast Tyler Hoechlin in the role and didn't use Henry Cavill. And let's be real... Ben Affleck is never going to make a small cameo on a show on The CW. He's an A-list actor with two Oscars to his name.

    The amount of Arrow/Batman mingling that has taken place on the show would make Bruce a somewhat redundant character.

      Denzel is a more respected actor than Ben Affleck. There's no way he'd do a little show on The CW.

        The CW isn´ t a home for prestige actors but it ended up making at least a billion for WB in 2016. You see no Arrow-verse is a "mess" click-bait too, despite it being a mess in parts.
        I can guarantee you that half the posters here would trade the DCEU for the little show Arrow-verse if they could. Arrow S05 was also my 2nd favorite TV show of 2016.
        So don´t throw stones in a house made of irritated glass... WE are the underdogs here.
        PS: Talia will soon be on Arrow and he killed her dad in S03. You know, the dude from Begins? Amell is basically Batman in green already.

          Everyone tells me that, and says that's why I should watch Arrow, but I've never seen the show.

            It got good during the 2n half of S01. S02 and the first half of S03 were great. Most writers all left for Flash by then and things took a shocking nosedive. S05 fixed everything overnight though and the series is kinda dark too. 40% of the content is also out of the Batman canon, or related bits, as the upcoming Outsiders. Arrow is basically what people want Gotham to be, if it is firing on all cylinders.
            The return from the break will be the show´s make or break point. Let´s just say that S04 treatment of major DC charters was... subpar. Goeff Johns works on these shows, so none of us expected them to fuck up Black Canary as hardcore as they did. The show´s downfalls can be extreme, for sure.

            Can I ask in all honesty is arrow season 5 worth it? The first two seasons especially S2 were excellent and 3 a bit crap only for four to be worse. Think I watched one episode of season 5 but that's it

            Yes, it´s the best after S02. I was shocked! Watch the first 3 and you will know what it is about. The 2nd half can still fall apart but you gonna believe and it´s again a proper comic adaptation.

            Eh, well watched 5 episodes. Bit better but the fight choreography is woeful. The camera is so far away to avoid the fact it is blatantly a stunt man or woman fighting.

            Were the fights ever noteworthy. This isn´t the right channel for such expectations and i can at least remember some of the actions scenes.

            I don't get that argument, if an action show is on TV regardless of what channel my expectations are high especially in this day and age. There is actually better fight choreography from Ismahawk Nightwing fan series than there is in arrow so budget isn't the reason for shoddy fight scenes. The fights has went really downhill since the first two seasons

            I only remember a few fight from S02 and none of it can compare to the admittedly higher budgeted Daredevil. The fights in Cage weren´t good though, so who even knows.
            S05 shat the bed this week, so it´s again a question if the season will work out or not. One of the writers must despise Black Canary with all his heart...

            Gotham has really surprised me. It found its groove after a a shite first half of season 1 and it's my favourite dc show now. It's so utterly bonkers

      They're fine. Especially The Flash which is quite good (for US tv standards)
      I don't understand why people here praise DC's current movies but shit on the tv shows. They're all fine (except Suicide Squad)

    Arrow S05 is a shocking improvement on the last 2 and one of the best shows of last year. Crazy. Don´t fuck up the return Uncle Guggy, this is your redemption! You did Ragman justice, who expected that?

    And yes, Bats should be used on the CW, in let´s say a LoT ep. The DKR inspired Star City 2046 could use a followup and inserting him there wouln´t mess with any canon. Not that Amell isn´t basically Batman.

    Honestly, I've long thought of the idea of a Gotham/Arrow crossover. Assume, just from the phones, cars, etc. that Gotham is 10-15 years in the past, but on the same Earth as the CW shows. Then you do a Gotham story where the perp is, so far as anyone knows, never caught... but gets sent to prison for some other charge. On Arrow, the perp is out of prison and starts killing using his old MO, Oliver goes to Gotham where Ben McKenzie is playing now-Commissioner Gordon (see the awesome job he did dressing as that for Hallowe'en a couple years ago), Oliver doesn't believe in the Gotham Bat-myth and Green Arrow tries to scare Gordon into telling him about the case from years ago. Maybe we get to see the Bat-signal.

    Later, Oliver is on a rooftop, maybe overlooking Gordon in his office. He draws his bow... and a bat-shuriken slices through the string and sticks in the wall behind him. He turns toward the camera...

    We cut to a low-to-the ground POV. In the background, we see Green Arrow, looking startled. In the foreground, we see black boots below a scalloped-edge cape.

    We hear "Oliver Queen. We need to talk." It's Kevin Conroy's voice.

    (Seriously, one of Berlanti's brain trust has said "we can't use Batman before Gotham does, and that's years away.")

    To be fair, he was asked who he would like to see play Bruce Wayne on Arrow, so he can say whoever he wants.

    Also, to say they are separate universes is to ignore the biggest overarching theme of DC history - the multiverse. The Arrowverse and Supergirl universe are separate universes, but have crossed over multiple times.

    I'm certainly not saying Affleck would ever appear on the CW, and this is definitely getting into "fantasy booking," but what if DC is leaving the option open for CW stars crossing into the movies for a Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths movie with the Anti-Monitor as the bad guy? Imagine Justice League 2 ends, and post-credit scene of Flash from CW with Arrow coming through a portal and telling Justice League Flash and Batman that they're going to need some help because a "crisis" has started that will affect all of them. Imagine a trailer with Ben Affleck Batman standing there, then Christian Bale Batman walks in and they go face to face. But then Michael Keaton Batman and Adam West Batman walk in (Adam West either playing an old Bruce Wayne or being done through CGI). Throw in some shots of the CW stars meeting movie stars, the Anti-Monitor's forces rising and Henry Cavill flying when CGI Christopher Reeves flies up next to him, and you've got the biggest DC movie of all time.

    Keep dreaming Ollie. Duking it out? With the way the Arrow show makes Green Arrow, Batfleck could take him down in less than a blink of an eye with his hands tied behind his back, blind-folded. And while it'll be cool to see Batman, or Bruce Wayne on the CW, I would never want the universes to be joined. Keep them separate and make a crisis movie...that'd be awesome.

      CW´s Green Arrow once took down Bronze Tiger. A foe 70s and Rebirth Batman lost to...
      He also bested Ra's al Ghul. Amell is basically Bat-god by now. Power level is NO concern here and why would they fight? Ollie is a serial-killer, i guess.

        Stephen Amell said it in the article that he would love to see them duke it out. Also, he bested those characters because the plot required him to do so. If those characters were half as strong as they're supposed to be, they would wipe the floor with him no sweat. And let's be honest, season 1-2 Oliver might have stood a chance, but nowadays he fights like an old man (though I haven't watched season 5)

    We all know that DC is a multiverse, so they could do a thing in the shows where the movie universe crosses with the TV shows and we get a way for the movies and shows to connect, they already crossed universes with the Supergirl TV show and and Flash show.

      But I think you're missing the point. Main DC comic continuity (Rebirth) will never ever spill over into the DCEU (another, unrelated, wholly separate Multiverse), and neither will the Arrowverse (again another entire continuity contained within its own Multiverse). Unless you subscribe to the theory that *everything* DC from the beginning of time until today (Action Comics 1 through every movie, show, and comic since then) are somehow capable of existing simultaneously in the same Multiverse (which I strongly believe is *not* the case) then what you're suggesting is not only highly improbable, it's technically impossible. And, since the brains at DC have repeatedly said that a DCEU/Arrowverse crossover *will not happen*, there's no real reason to connect the universes and/or respective Multiverses (since you feel that capitalizing the word makes it mean something it doesn't).

    It's a different universe get Val Kilmner to come on as Bruce's father Thomas(older Batman), he could end up as a mentor in an occasional recurring role. Yet another Flashpoint tie in.

    Technically the multiverse exist on DCTV and they've teased bringing in older DC shows like the 90's Flash into it, so it's all studio redtape preventing it, there is an actual creative window where it makes sense.

Many people consider the DCCW a huge success, and the DCEU an Epic Failure (that even Jimmy Fallon makes fun of).     I feel like all the references to Bludhaven are really trying to nudge us into the direction that Nightwing and/or Batman will appear at some point. If they do batman though, I think they should make him really extreme like Arrow in Season 1 without the killing. Like when GA paralyzed that guy in Season 5, alot more of that. In order to show a difference between the characters and to create friction between them.

      he simply doesn't have the time to do it..and he is going to need probably a lot of money that a CW show doesn't have.Also it's CW it's NOT like HBO or FX and AMC
