"Suicide Squad" was the 10th most searched term on Google in the entire world in 2016

This is kind of unbelievable. Google has released their annual Year in Search report for 2016, and Suicide Squad was the 10th most searched term in the entire world this year!

Google also has the Top 10 searches in 2016 by categories, and in "Movies" Suicide Squad was the #2 most searched term, coming up just short of #1 to Deadpool. Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also made an appearance at #5.

This just goes to show how much Suicide Squad really resonated with the general audience. Being included in the Top 10 Google searches in 2016, across the entire globe, is absolutely incredible!

    Its great to see audiences interested, Harley was a highlight by herself, everything should be up-hill now for DCEU, hoping they learned what has to be done, i foreshadow the age of good reviews.
    Marvel was expected off course, they cemented themselves over a decade, they started kinda messy as well, but improved (so give DCEU a break), their challenge begins now, with big stars finishing contracts.
    And Deadpool is a big winner this year, his film was unstoppable, but can they really keep it fresh in the sequel? groundbreaking is hard to achieve twice, im afraid this was a 'one hit wonder', i would like to be proven wrong, also the film was filled with references and jokes on a very closed 'our days' window, in all of its greatness, that film could age quickly. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

      Hardly, DCEU issues far outweigh Marvel's phase 1. if you watch BvS and Suicide Squad and see little to nothing wrong with them then you won't see improvement because you can't tell the bloody difference. Fanboys defending it and acting like it's a gift from God only further gives Warner a reason not to give a shit about the quality.

        That word again, fanboy, is the lowest point in your rant, i pointed flaws in both, not that they we're the same flaws, all you take from what i wrote is that?...you took defensive position so fast, Marvel doesn’t needs your protection, i like them too.
        And i want DC to improve as well, im sure that they are learning from their mistakes, like Marvel did, that's my second point.
        Look, if we are gonna get on a debate over which one is better, don’t, im a fan of everything, let them all have their place and lets sit back and enjoy the ride.

          Never called you a "fanboy" so next time, read my comment properly before jumping to conclusions. I referred to all fanboys. Marvel's phase 1 didn't have excessive editing, plot, tone and characterization issues. The main ingredients to making a simple movie and if Warner or even the fanboys themselves can't realize those issues then we won't see improvement.

            Have you seen Iron-man 2? It was thrown together due to Hulk borderline flopping and the MCU was seen as a huge risk and somewhat shaky until Avengers broke new ground. I still ´member the days when the internet was worried about The Avengers not working and killing it all.

      Deadpool was genially good and fairly comic accurate. The scripts starts to fall apart on repeat viewing though but an 8,5/10 it is. I would give the same score for Squad EE but it´s a bit more "watchable" due to the ensemble cast. X-men by Fox is also better than the MCU, you heard it here first and Legion looks to be a great start for the TV side.
      PS: Deadpool is set up to get his own franchise (just like his comic counterpart) and i will also get X-Force due to that. Just without Logan, but X-23 should work equally well. Hype.

    Wow, that placing of Deadpool. No wonder that Marvel decided to give every one of his crew members their own (failing) comics. But what about sex stuff?
    I can imagine Trump, iPhone or Pokemon (Sun i pretty good btw.) beating "sex" or "anal" but not the rest.

      I'm thinking kids are getting more and more savvy each year with the googling. They either know to use "incognito mode," or they just go to Reddit for their porn.

    The DCEU v Watchmen stealth crossover is about to commence!
    I would use him as The Question, for obvious reasons, and have him dying of cancer (as in the 00s) to have Renee take over. He would also 100% work as Scarecrow.

        Gotham on Fox did good by Tetch but how could a film universe use him properly, unless you make a The Raid clone set in Arkham.

      I miss those days when a comic book movie when be in development, and people would just go crazy about it. It didn't matter what comic the movie would be based on, everyone would just be happy at seeing another comic book film. Now, people are overly- critical about comic book films. Instead of just being happy about the film, people question how the film will affect the cinematic universe.

        This is due to saturation in the market, people are picky now given we have more to choose from. It happens in all markets, not just the movies and the comicbook genre.
