Mark Hamill has been voicing The Joker since the early 1990s, and we finally get to see him in a live-action version of the role. Kinda...
Hamill returns as "The Trickster" on The Flash tonight, and in the clip above we see him channel his inner Joker.
From his look, to his voice and his laugh, this is definitely the closest we'll probably ever get to seeing Hamill play a live-action version of the Clown Prince of Crime.

This bugged me the first time he played trickster on the flash. He's basically Joker in this portrayal. Trickster as a character shouldn't really resemble Joker as much as this one does.
Also, rumor has it that new JL footage was shown at CCXP. Steppenwolf apparently was revealed.
The CCXP rumor was likely debunked in the Joe Manganiello thread; someone said it was the same, video from SDCC.
At the same time, as someone who watched the 90's show, it's great seeing John Wesley Shipp's Flash capture Mark Hamill's Trickster one more time! IIRC Trickster was the only villain who appeared more than once on the old show, although I'm not sure if the old Trickster was as murderous as the one in this clip (or the Joker).
I don't think Hamill went into his full-on Joker voice on the old show either, so this is indeed a unique treat!
In the old show it was before he was cast as the Joker in Batman the Animated Series.
His portrayal of the Trickster is one of the reasons they cast him as the Joker.

The classic Trickster has no defined personality, it´s only the young blond followup who has a set characterization in the comics. The CW has cart blanche to do pretty much anything with him.
So can we just have Mark Hamill do a full on TV Joker already. I know Gotham is doing their thing with Jerome but seriously get Mark Hamill even for just one episode to be the Joker live action.
I would love a one-episode Trickster/Joker clash. Both played by Hamill. Joker being the amused/annoyed "what the hell are you doing"-type. And then killing Trickster because he's a rip-off!
I don't worship him like some other batman fans do, but why would he do this? He's basically playing The Joker. But it's not. Silly.

The multiverse is full of different characters and colorful personalities. Earth-1 is a lot more realistic but has twists of fantasy weaved throughout. Other earths, like Earth-3, look more like a comic from the 1940's or 50's. Crazy color schemes, ridiculous characters, and old-timey values and culture. That's the reason for the tommy gun, strange teeth, wacky hairdo, and policemen in older looking attire.
His doppelgänger is Jay Garrick from "Earth 3" because on the Flash Earth 2 is the comics version of Earth 3 and Earth 3 is actually Earth 2.

Well, voice acting while gesturing near a microphone in shouldn't qualify as the range of his actual acting. I mean, Trickster isn't exactly the most serious character to portray. Then again, this entire show is pretty cheesy

I would absolutely cream-ma-jeans if Hamill played Joker on The Flash, and had a run-in with his Trickster.

So, Barry and dad are on Earth-One (season 1). Once Barry decides to explore the multi-dimensional part of his life (Earth-Two throughout season 2), we find out Barry's dad has an Earth-Two version (Jay Garrick).
It's really fun for fans of the '90s Flash.

This is a fantastic idea and as close we get to Hamill dressing up as Joker. I'll take it and enjoy the moment.

You can tell he can barely talk with those fake teeth. The whole scene they are about to come out.

Just for anyone who doesn't watch the show, rogues from other Earths (Earth-3 in this case) are always more cheesy than usual. It's done on purpose, sort of like a callback to the cheesiness of the Golden Age, which is the era that Jay Garrick happens to be from. Also, if you watch the show, you'll notice the color grading is more vibrant than usual on Earth-3, while Earth-1 is comparatively more muted. That's also done on purpose, to visually capture that brighter, less serious and lighthearted vibe of the Golden Age.
Also, we've seen Hamill portray the Earth-1 Trickster before, and he wasn't nearly as cheesy as his Earth-3 counterpart. I'm sure Hamill has the acting chops to pull of a more serious live action Joker if necessary, albeit more so in mannerism than in physicality.
Actually, I couldn't decide whether he was channelling Dame Edna (purple hair) or Sir Les Patterson (those teeth!)
