IMDb has released a "Top 10 Stars of 2016" list, where they looked at the 10 stars who consistently ranked the highest on the IMDb weekly STARmeter chart throughout 2016. IMDb STARmeter rankings are based on the actual page views of IMDb's more than 250 million unique monthly visitors.
So who had the most viewed IMDb page in 2016? That would be Suicide Squad's Margot Robbie!
Third on this list last year, Margot Robbie makes the leap to the top as IMDb's Top Star of 2016. It was a year in which the Australian actress displayed her versatility in a trio of notable big-screen performances. She played BBC correspondent Tanya Vanderpoel in the war comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and followed that with a turn as Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan. However, Robbie's most notable work in 2016 was as psychiatrist-gone-bad Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. It's a memorable, visually striking role that not only inspired a future standalone film but too-many-to-count lookalike costumes at comic book conventions and Halloween parties.
But another lovely DC Comics actress joined Robbie in the top 10. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's Gal Gadot scored the #6 spot.
The title of Batman v Superman may have focused on two male antagonists, but it was Gal Gadot's rendition of Wonder Woman that kept comic book fans bustling for months. After the movie's March release, Warner Bros. kept momentum rolling through the summer by releasing two blockbuster trailers during San Diego Comic-Con: One for the much anticipated Justice League and another for the equally talked-about Wonder Woman standalone, also to be released in the coming year. In both, Gadot was front and center, reprising her role as Diana Prince. Successful as 2016 was for Gadot with respect to DC Comics diehards, she rounded out her year with turns in the action comedy Keeping Up With the Joneses, crime drama Triple 9, and Criminal.
Also worth mentioning is Gotham's Morena Baccarin. She came in just before Gal Gadot at #5 on the list. Though I think that had less to do with her Batman role, and a lot to do with starring in Deadpool this year.
Brazilian native Baccarin catapulted herself onto IMDb's Top 10 list for 2016 by virtue of strong showings with both movie and TV fans. She kicked off 2016 as a scene-stealing centerpiece in the year's bawdiest comic book film, Deadpool, playing the title character's scrappy and forthright love interest. And off the big screen, she continued to portray series regular Dr. Leslie Tompkins on FOX's "Gotham." The show was a source of both professional and personal success this past year: She and "Gotham" co-star Ben McKenzie welcomed their first child in March.
And since this is Batman News, let's give The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy a shout-out as well. He came in at #4, most likely due to his chilling performance in The Revenant.
Don't worry, Tom Hardy fans: IMDb's top star of 2015 didn't fall too far from the top in the 2016 list. Buoyed by his haunting performance in The Revenant, where he played hard-to-love but impossible-to-ignore John Fitzgerald (complete with an unforgettably thick accent), Hardy kept himself at the forefront of awards season water-cooler talk. After movie awards season was complete, the British actor kept TV fans buzzing as Alfie Solomons in Season 5 of cult favorite "Peaky Blinders." In 2017, he's set to star in period miniseries "Taboo," which he created in collaboration with his father Chips. Tom plays rogue adventurer and would-be shipping magnate James Keziah Delaney.

The BvS and SS page themselves are some of the most trolled IMDB entries in years too. View it as a sign of interest. Logan also shot to No.1 after the trailer came out and BvS stayed there for quite some time too. Some movies just can´t go quietly into the night.

Every fucking super hero movie will undoubtedly have a sizeable fanbase. Movies based on characters this relevant in pop culture will always have. It's the fact that it was as divisive as it was and frankly, as underwhelming and disappinting that takes away from the merit it should have gotten, if it were in the hands of more capable filmmakers, of course.

And independently of our opinion of the movie, it is without a doubt one of the most relevant of the year, which was what we were discussing in first place.

How do you know? They probably felt the need to intervene because of the filmmakers. Ayer spent 6 fucking weeks writing Suicide Squad (which is a joke when it comes to movies), Snyder ok'ed a 4 hour script... These directors have been inconsistent and made poor decisions. This excuse that WB is the only culprit is bullshit.

How do I know? Well, by reading, that's how. They didn't need anything, but a mere two months before the release, suddenly, they wanted to trim the 3 hours version. Not because they felt it was bad, but because they wanted more sessions.
There was no 4 hour script. They said they had filmed enough for four hours. That's different, and it usually happens with big movies. Obviously, the fat is trimmed after.
Yeah, writing a script in six weeks is crazy, but again that was WB's fault, who were the one who comissioned it and gave that timetable. And how do you know that script was bad? We can't know because it is quite known that the version in cinemas wasn't Ayer's version (which i would really like to know how it was).
Next time you want to doubt about about someone's knowledge in one topic, try to lecture yourself first about that topic

Every single thing you said is not confirmed, just speculation by a fanboy who wants things to be like he wants them to be. The fact is Ayer had zero experience with a movie like this, and even though I love End of Watch, and enjoyed Harsh Times and Fury, he's very hit and miss. Snyder has huge flaws when it comes to storytelling, his filmography is the testament to that, even though he almost always only does work that has been done before, and better too... WB screwed up, that's true, but they screwed up with the choice of filmmakers, and that blew in their face. A movie is always the director's movie, so don't come up with excuses. Accept the flaws and make your voice heard that you want better. The three hour cut of BvS was a mess, you can't fix a 2.5 hour mess by adding 0.5 hours to it. It just dragged on longer... Big fucking whoop.

I have absolutely no problem with opinions, even opposing ones. What I do have a problem with is using insults as a way to express those opinions. You may not be an asshole all of the time (and I'd bet you're not), but in this single instance, you're insulting Chris ("This site is known for posting pretty dumb and irrelevant Batman news when things are slow") and you're insulting people who may value the importance of IMDB views (they're out there, and most definitely not "a cancer to society"). Insults are indicative of asshole behavior.

True, they have great ladies, but there's still a fact here. What DC did was to present lead female characters on screen (characters we're strong on paper, but it took 75 years for WW to get a movie), something that Marvel didn’t care to do before, now off course, Captain Marvel is very important to them, but not before.. And Gal was so hated, but she is among the best of BvS, even folks who hate the film recognized her. My point is that good or bad scripting, fresh tomatoes or not, Harley is more popular than any Marvel female ever.., even more than the Joker himself. Margot owned the character. Now we need a better script around this characters, ha!
