David Ayer has a cool cameo in 'Suicide Squad: Extended Cut'

Suicide Squad director David Ayer had a cameo in the theatrical cut and no one even noticed!

During our introduction to Killer Croc, we see Griggs (played by Ike Barinholtz) with his men walking towards the sewer to feed the monster. One of those men was Ayer. The cameo is easy to miss in the theatrical version, but in the Extended Cut the camera zooms in on him and he has a speaking role.

"Hey boss, is it true he chewed a dude's hand off?" Ayer's character asks. Griggs points to the prosthetic hand on the guard behind him. Ayer then picks up a goat and tosses it down into the sewer for Killer Croc to eat for dinner.

Suicide Squad Extended Cut is available on Digital HD today. It's coming to Blu-ray on December 13th.

I found the extended cut just as bad as the theatrical cut. The extra Joker scenes made me like him even less. I now am starting to wonder if they cut him out because they thought it was a bad performance overall. Anyways, I am still pretty excited for the other DCEU movies coming up.

Honestly, I try and tell myself I just need to see more of him in the role to form a better opinion, but deep down I just don't like this portrayal. Not that others can't like it, but it just didn't click with me at all. I'm hoping he will have another appearance soon in an extended role (no pun intended) where I'm convinced otherwise.

  Agreed. In my opinion, it is too over the top, very cringe worthy. Like you said, it just doesn't click at all, and I have not seen anything that makes me go wow I want to see more of him. I am more like he needs to stop, its too much. Anyways, we'll see what they do with the Joker moving forward.

They cut out key story elements that would have effected the movies plot which involved the joker. Just as they cut out important details of BvS which ultimately changed a whole lot. There were also scenes that would make the joker seem way more physically abusive to Harley which apparently didn't sit well with test audiences. Jared said that they could have made a whole movie about joker and Harley with how much they filmed. He is understandably pissed about how much was cut out and frankly, as a fan I think it's bullshit and he's right to be mad. Just like how I thought the theatrical cut of BvS was bullshit compared to the ultimate edition. I just wish they would have added an extra 15 minutes or so on top of the already 11 they added for the extended cut of SS.

the thing is you dont let a actor do his own creative choice if you´re not confident that he does a good job. At least someone should have an eye over him, talk to him what he wants to do and if he messes some stuff up, correct it

Movie was basically doomed from the screenwriting provess. No ammount of footage shown could ever change that.

Yeah I just watched the Extended cut on my Xbox and I burst out laughing at David Ayers cameo.
Only to find out he was the guy who got eaten by Croc... "The New Guy" fucking awesome David Ayer.

Just feel bad for Ayer. He is a great director if you look at his filmography (I personally loved End of Watch), but WB just had to cut his film up. I hope that Joker is presented well in Batman solo film, in some capacity.
