'Suicide Squad' Blu-ray clip shows lots of new Joker and Harley Quinn footage

Earlier today we got a clip from the Suicide Squad Blu-ray that focused on Jared Leto as The Joker, but IGN just premiered a new one and this time the focus is on Joker and Harley Quinn.

In the video above, we see lots of awesome behind-the-scenes footage of Jared Leto and Margot Robbie in their roles, plus we get a peek at new footage that wasn't in the movie of Joker kissing Harley before she throws herself into the vat of chemicals.

Suicide Squad: Extended Cut will be available on Digital HD this coming Tuesday, November 15th. Batman News has partnered with VUDU for a cool event and to give away free copies!

Actually annoying how much Jared Leto's screen time got cut short. Hope Ben Affleck includes him into his Batman films.

Because it's some of the worst overacting of all time. Listen at 1:11. He's vocally riffing on Jim Carrey from the Mask. I'm waiting for him to say "Someboddyyyyy stoppp me!" Are we just brainwashing ourselves into thinking he's good? He's horrendous. Everyone else does fine with their characterizations. Not him though. He's overacting in every single scene.

Hated the fact that they turned him into a horny Joker desperately looking for Harley Quinn. That scene with Common made me cringe. A good Joker 90% of the time feels indifference towards Harley. It's Harley that goes out of her way to please him and to get him to notice her, no the other way around.
That, to me, was a critical failure in this movie.

  Well, it has been seen a lot in the comics that, if Harley isn't around Joker, he is going to search for her as she is his favourite "toy", one he can bashed and abuse and all that. It could be seen in the very first Harley Quinn comic (Mad Love), when he asks about her whereabouts when she isn't there. And we can see in No Man's Land that he fell prey of jelaousy when one of his minions was trying to hook up on her.
  Those things where pretty comic accurate for me and consistent with the character (although I'm not a fan of their cutting the abusive side)

Well,Joker was shoehorned in this movie,so cutting him from SS would have actually been the best possible decision.Especially when his presence is short,has no point and his interpretation isn't well thought out.
They should have waited for the solo Batman movie to show him and let Ben work with Jared on the character.

      A mention is a different thing and it should have been that or,like someone else said,take the role of the villain for himself.
      If you take him out of the movie,nothing changes.Except for the part when he breaks her out of Belle Reve,but that's not related to the actual story they're telling in the movie.

  I disagree with that, only on the basis that if Joker was not in SS, then people would've been complaining that he should've been included and that you can't have Harley in a film without the Joker.

    Worst argument of all time, especially when talking about a version of the character that actually got his persona through being thrown into a pool of acid (which wasn't exactly told, but definitely implied with the Harley Quinn origin scene)... That was definitely Ledger, a version superior in every single way... Also, how is this Luthor that realistic again? His powerful, no-nonsense version from most comic books and the animated series is a lot more realistic and grounded if you ask me.
    I like a Joker whose personality is closer to the classic comic books, but this Joker was just a love sick puppy in the movie, with barely any joker characteristics besides laughing a lot.

      Ledger's Joker was a terrorist, with PTSD, the scars are part of that story,...very far from the "Clown Prince of Crime" that the Joker is in the "classic comic books", a criminal, bit crazy, sure, but capable of more than just kill folks and burn money, with faithful henchmen, other criminals, not random mental patients (who can all use fire arms perfectly, make bombs and handle undercover operations to get in and blow up entire hospitals without any evidence...... weird mental patients.......)
      If anything, Leto's Joker was even more close and representative of the comics than any Joker to date, and to make him a mob leader makes him grounded in reality, instead of just popping out of thin air.....realistic??? Nolan took the easy way and made a Joker very plane and one dimensional.
      The laugh is a staple, not an obligatory one, but a nice touch, Ledger didn’t had one, like Leto has, Hamill has, or Romero had.
      Ledger left an impression because he was so different, not because comic accuracy.
      Luthor was great for me in two ways, bringing a young man like in the early comics, and making him still the head of a corporation (like in later iterations) instead of a mad scientist as he started off, which i wouldn’t find very realistic (although in BvS is hinted that he is also a bit of a scientist), so they made him a mad CEO.
      Harley got mentally destroyed after getting brainwashed and fantasized by Joker, the whole acid baptism is a symbol that completes the transformation, in a deleted scene she stops the Joker's car, and she shoots a guy in the head because he interrupted her talk with Joker (before the acid), its a slow mind game that Joker pulls on Harley, and it's well presented in the film, to bad you missed it.

      Not really. I love movies, and I simply went against that notion, because it's a wrong one. You can prefer one over the other all you want, but to say that Nolan's version is inferior in any way is just wrong. Basically the only thing the DCEU has got over the Nolan is the fight scenes, which were amazing, but the rest doesn't cut it.

      Don’t get me wrong, i love Nolan's trilogy, but if all of the DCEU critics look at that trilogy with the same magnifying glass....you will find all of the same ridiculous movie plot holes, poorly based characters and incredible situations, as many, many movies have, this doesn’t has an effect on me, for i love the films anyway, and take them for what they are, movies, "realistic" is always a stretch.
      But for you to be so obtuse and negative towards anything DCEU and so permissive with past entries and other franchises is what makes the debate hit a wall.

      Sorry, but the difference is that the DCEU movies do not need any kind of magnifying glass to find them, and the Nolan movies are very well known among movie fans for being dissected as fuck by critics. much more so than any movie Zack Snyder has ever made, I'll tell you that. Interstellar was picked to shreds, and so was his Dark Knight trilogy, only they were good movies with plot holes, and not messes of comic book refferences with no idea of what a plot is, and only caring about future movies. That's why his trilogy is as beloved as it is.

They wanted to tease future events, and give reasons for fanboys to blow their wads, only without too much work.       What is happening is you are reaching for arguments to justify your love for these movies. The problem here is that you, like many others in this website, didn't actually love the movies. You love the source material, and you would love just about anything they would throw at you, so you reach and stretch to find arguments to support your "love" for them, even though that's not what you feel inside, and that shows with contradicting arguments (firstly people here were calling BvS TC a masterpiece, and then when the UC came out ya'll immediately called out bullshit on the theatrical cut and started raving about the UC and insulting WB for cutting it, etc.), and non sensical ones (oh it's realistic... No wait, it's comic book accurate... oh, zuckerberg... tattoos!)

      nah, Ledger was great, but it wasnt very simmilar to the Joker, but in every movie they adapt a different side of him, what they are doing with the DCCU is bringing the characters to "our" world, to show us how they would be and act in the real world on 2016, Luthor was good, even better explained that it was his son, it was a zuckeberg CEO psychotic style, and this Joker is not in love, is just that they are playing with his toy, and he doesnt like that, he doesnt love Harley, never did and never will, is just a sick relationship, he knew from the trailers that the moment they released Harley the Joker was gonna come after her, is just how it is, also it would help if they didnt take out all the abusive side of the relationship off the movie

      Also, he isn't in love? The movie wholeheartedly disagrees with that. He not only didn't like other people to have her, he actually wanted her at his side, and couldn't stop thinking about her. Nothing in the movie contradicts this.

The fact the they included "just you and me baby" means we're probably still getting the studio neutered reshoots version. Still more excited than I possibly should be for this, really don't want to be let down again, I really hope the EC saves it a bit. You're right. The only things I can see the extended cut actually fixing is the character development of Joker, Croc, Boomerang, and Katana. Any scene involving the Flag/Moone relationship would be appreciated too. I'm going to bet half of the added footage, however much it is, will be devoted to Joker. I'm hoping some of that shows the abusive side of Joker and Harley. The rest should be devoted to the other squad members (as well as the extended bar scene).

  I was against his look the first few months and really vocal about it,but then I started to like it,as the on the nose tattoos,underwear and stuff became sort of funny.
  The performance,however,was short and it failed to do anything interesting with the character.
  I'm not holding my breath for anything miraculous coming out of those 11-13 minutes on Jared's end.It's a botched take on the character and will need a lot of course correction if he'll show up in the solo Batfleck movie.

    It's funny, I hate to say it but I didn't enjoy what I saw of Leto in the TC, but I do like the look. He makes a better action figure than character on the screen it seems. I do think with a good script and director (Ben) he could do a good job. Once I heard something about Jake Gyllenhaal, I've been a bit stuck on how good he could be.

      Oh,man! Jake would have been amazing as Joker and I thought about it myself at some point.He's one of the few actors of his generation that can get lost in the roles he plays.
      Another actor that I would have loved to see play him is Willem Dafoe.The guy looks like Joker and there are some fan made pics of him with the makeup on Google,which look really,really creepy.
      An older Joker makes sense considering Batman is 45-46 in BvS.
