New 'Suicide Squad: Extended Cut' trailer includes more Joker footage

Amazon has released a brand new trailer for Suicide Squad: Extended Cut on their product page, and it features new footage of Jared Leto's Joker!

There's some new dialogue between Joker and Harley when he tortures her, and we get to see more footage of their confrontation from a deleted scene. There's other bits of new footage sprinkled in the trailer as well. Check it out above!

The trailer may have been released a bit prematurely, because it says "Digital HD available now" throughout. Suicide Squad: Extended Cut actually doesn't hit Digital HD until November 15th. It'll be out on Blu-ray on December 13th, and is available for pre-order now.

Update: I added an HD version of the trailer from Warner Bros. UK. It displays the UK release dates of November 28th for the Digital HD version and December 5th for the Blu-ray. The US gets the Digital HD version one week earlier, and the Blu-ray one week later.

So that´s where the Katana scenes went! I now expect to see all the trailer footage, but the scenes of Flag reading the files and the Joker battle, as the re-shoots made them impossible to use.
Some of the film will need a score adjustment though, and don´t expect more noteworthy violence, as WB would have went for the more marketable R.
What you get here is basically the novelization by Marv Wolfman. Besides the monologues about their out of control sex life (yep). The book apparently sold pretty well, i wonder why.
PS: GQ and Frost 100% died in the book, let´s see if the DCEU buries them prematurely too.

  PS: Frost was also a one off in the books, but Joker slashed his throat there. The Frost in the novel had some depth btw.

Yeah, the Joker's break-in at the end was definitely part of the reshoots. And that's why we won't be seeing Joker in the subway throwing a grenade and saying "Bye-bye!". *sigh*
I am pumped to watch more Letoker and some Katana too!

    Oh! It was my understanding, after watching the theatrical cut, that the 'Bye-Bye' scene was the Joker appearing at the very end of the subway sequence and asking Harley to escape with him. Amanda would be standing right there and blackmail Harley into staying by threatening she'd blow the heads of the rest of the squad. If I'm wrong it'd be interesting to see how both the scenes would fit into the narrative.
    On a side note, David could've been playing with semantics there. The first thing they shot could've been the same montage with all the squad members but would just end with Harley refilling her cup, or an entirely different scene with her. Although the whole break-in was a cool reference to Heath Ledger's the Joker!

UC BvS also got a 12+ in Germany and Squad is 16+. I can see the Squad rating but even the TC for BvS was a 16+ to me, as let´s say TDK or half of Bat´s new toons / new games.

This actually looks good. I'll be checking it out for sure. I guess there will be a lot more Joker. I didn't expect there to be more Katana, that's good (she wasn't mentioned in the Reddit list of deleted scenes)! I hope there's some stuff involving Boomerang as well as Killer Croc character-wise. I don't think there'll be any alternate scenes (Joker in the final battle, Joker shoving Harley to kill her, and different opening with Enchantress), but I'll gladly take this!

That list was basically all the extra footage shown in all the trailers and tv spots that didn't make it into the movie, along with some parts from the novel (for example, Croc feels his stomach churning with the goat he ate a while ago but there's nothing about puking it and eating that), and then some predictions pulled out of thin air like the shot of a dead Robin.

    The Extended cut seems to have more than the novel! There was no Harleen riding a bike or her pointing a gun at the Joker—it's all probably one flashback and leads upto the Chemical Wedding, judging by the costumes. Also no Katana's unmasking.
    All this wasn't in the novel so I'm really excited for the Extended cut.

      You're right. I haven't read the novelization, so I don't know what's in it. I'm also hoping there's more with Croc in the extended cut. Maybe a much more expanded backstory plus the goat scene would suffice. I also want to see more of the Flag/Moone relationship, all the extended Joker scenes, more from Captain Boomerang, etc.

  I've enjoyed all of the movies from this new DC universe. My favorite is Dawn of Justice: UE, and I can't wait for the extended cut of SS because the buildup was so short in the theatrical, and you need the buildup to make the climax better. But I definitely agree, Man of Steel was amazing, for me, best Superman movie to date, and Henry Cavill is my favorite Superman.

    I think he should be given the main villain part in one of Batfleck's films tho. It's a great character and Leto goes all in which is required for the part. I really liked his performance although we didn't got to see enough to get a clear picture of him.

More Katana?! Yes! I wonder if that Joker subway station scene, will be included at all. It seems like that kinda would've contradicted the ending. I wonder if the Joker/Harley dysfunctional relationship stuff,

Because it showed violence against women. 3rd-wave feminism ruined this movie. Remember the backlash against the X-Men Apocolypse billboard? So all/most of the scenes with Joker slapping Harley, talking down to her and pushing her out of a chopper get the chop, essentially removing the crux of their relationship and giving Harley no place to grow from as a character.

People need to stop talking about things they do not fully get. Besides the fact that you simply do not know what is going on behind the scenes, you have to understand: they simply do damage control.
Zack "The Hack" Snyder ok'ed a fucking 4 hour script for a Batman v Superman movie. It was doomed from the start. There is no way you can make a coherent and good 2.5 or 3 hour movie from a 4 hour script. Tons of things are going to be cut, leaving behind unresolved sub plots, plot holes out the ass, incosistencies of logic and common sense, etc.
Zack Snyder is simply attrocious when it comes to telling a story (Which is noticeable just by hearing him speak, tbh)and y'all need to stop acting like he is such a great director when his filmography proves otherwise.

Imagine if BvS UE released in theaters. And then the true vision of Suicide Squad...this is my biggest complaint about DC Films. They sacrificed the artistry to appeal to a broader audience. At the end of the day though, I'm not going to bitch about it. We have a masterpiece with BvS UE and then hopefully a truer to the original idea version of Suicide Squad, both on home media, which is how these movies will be engrained into my memory. It's a great time to be a DC fan.

There is simply no way you can make a 2 hour movie good by adding 10 minutes of the same shit that made it bad in the first place. This is also the reason why the UC of BvS did not make it good. It's simply 30 more minutes of the shit that made it have the attrocious reception it had.

  10 minutes are a lot of footage, it can help the pace of the movie a great deal, also BvS was incomplete, the UC is the complete version of the movie, and is a fantastic movie if you have read some Batman and Superman comic books, but Snyder movies are not for everybody

While I agree the BvS Ultimate Edition is far better than the theatrical version, I think the things added that make it rated R were completely unnecessary. The prison stabbing scene, the F-Bomb, the blood splats, Superman's "more violent" death, and the shot of Affleck's butt (seriously, WHO asked for that?!?) were completely unnecessary. Maybe cut those out, and you've got a (slightly) shorter and better film that could have been released in theaters. Otherwise, I do think the UE is a solid movie. As for this SS Extended Cut, I think the only thing it will do for sure is help character development for Joker and a few of the Squad members (which is good). Otherwise it won't save the movie. I'll Bet you the editing will still be bad, the tone still inconsistent, and the villain will still suck.

What most people don't understand about the extended cuts on DVD/Blue ray is to make money. These movies are cut one way for the movies, then re-cut to make us spend more money on the disc, 6 months later. We will never be happy with what we see in the screen. Because for W.B. it's about money, the more they make, The more they want.

I've decided I won't be seeing Dr. Strange in theaters (I'll wait to rent it). The commenters on CBM (ugh) and IGN (ugh) are completely ripping apart Fantastic Beasts (even though it's not out yet) and telling people to go see Dr. Strange twice instead. I could care less about the Joker scenes, I just want the scenes that had more buildup for the characters, especially Boomerang and Killer Croc, Katana would be nice too.

Agreed. If I were to guess how much of the 11 minutes was devoted to Joker, it would be half of it. The flashback with Harleen pointing a gun at him would take up at least 3-4 minutes. I don't think the scene with Joker appearing in the final battle will make it in, as that changes Harley's later arc entirely. I think that flashback scene, plus several extended Joker scenes (I can't wait to show you my toys, Arkham, Batmobile chase, etc) will be around 1-2 additional minutes total. So a max of 6 minutes of Joker.
I guess the remaining 5 or so minutes would be devoted to El Diablo's introductory scene in Belle Reve (where he is put into the water tank) the Flag/Moone relationship, Killer Croc's expanded backstory + his vomiting goat scene, Captain Boomerang's racism/sexism + his interactions with Harley, Katana removing her mask + possibly her sword of souls scene, and the extended bar scene. I don't see anything else being added in. I doubt any alternate scenes will be added in (like the different opening, Joker shoving Harley to kill her, and Joker in the final battle).
