'Suicide Squad' concept art reveals deleted Joker and Harley Quinn scene

Comic Book Movie spotted some cool new Suicide Squad concept art from artist Christian Lorenz Scheurer today. It features art from a violent scene that was not in the movie, involving Joker and Harley Quinn on a bridge.

Joker can be seen shooting someone right in the head at close range. This scene may be included in the Extended Cut of Suicide Squad, because we got a peek at something similar in the trailer.

Another thing worth noting is that Scheurer labeled the "creatures" that the Suicide Squad fought throughout the movie as "Parademons". It'll be interesting to see if any of that carries over into Justice League, where Parademons will be heavily featured.

Why does that look like an entirely different movie?
Oh, shit! The Eyes of the Adversary are the Parademons! Was Enchantress basically offing them with her 'kiss of death' and turning them into tactical drones to do her bidding, much like the goggled-counterparts? Is that why the end-credits of Suicide Squad were out in the dark, among the stars? Questions, questions.

The way the Joker looks is place holder art.
But yeah it has some stuff that look really different like Parademons and Boom Tubes.

      So much of it looks like it was watered down in the movie we got but I still enjoyed it, just wish we got this more raw version.

After the stylized part of the end-credits when Heathens plays and we see the Bruce-Amanda scene, the rest of the credits roll on a background of a dark sky full of stars. That's what I'm talking about! That instantly reminded me of Lex's ominous warning in BvS.

Those are good concept art images. If only they had used that Joker and Harley design and also not hacked the film the way they did post-BvS backlash, the movie would have been a lot better. Though I think it would have made no sense if the Eyes of the Adversary guys were Parademons...

The only deleted scene is Dr. Quinze chasing him (the EE will have it), the rest has movie equivalents.
The Eyes Of The Adversary zombies are less human in the film, arguably a PG-13 thing, but i liked the film designs. The concept art Chris doesn´t feature is of higher interest.

Like it or not but this look it did become iconic. The comic Joker is also as unpredictable as you get, so i can´t fault the designers for doing their own twist on that, and the damaged tattoo is my favorite after the dead Robin (lol). Such a giant and public fuck you to basically everyone.

  I don't think he had enough screen time to be iconic, plus a lot of people didn't like him. Ledger, now he was iconic. I don't really have anything against the design, I just think Damaged is too on the nose.

    I have now seen multiple young women with backgrounds of the DCEU men (the Joker was this week) on their phones. I can guarantee you that none of them ever read a comic but if this isn´t a sign that the DCEU is doing iconography right then i don´t know what is. Like at all.
    He was also a major marketing component, as well as one of the main talking points of the film. The booklet for this semester´s movie screening list for students in my town even has the Squad poster on the cover. Guess who is the large floating head on it? Letoker arguably became nearly as icon as Ledger before the film even came out (with 1/3 of the screen time) and both share similar google images space, if you search for "Joker". The lack of 89´s Jack though is somewhat surprising.
    Lots of people lastly don´t like let´s say Marilyn Manson. He is still the definition of an icon. Even Hitler is "iconic", as likeability has nothing to so with it.

      You would also turn your head if you repeatedly saw attractive and polar young women having a thing for the DCEU guys out of nowhere, and the bestselling Halloween costume deigns and semi-professional cos-players certainly showed their allegiance this year. The merch sales for these films are though the roof, and lines come out at a crazy pace too.

      My current university classes, my apartment girls (i now share a flat with 5 women for some reason), and from my former professional school. I also consonantly see 20-something girls in MCU shirts and so on, as these current films hit like bomb.
      PS: I am a librarian btw., which is a "female profession", so don´t be surprised that i am surround by women.

      Aren´t you friendly and it mathematically is, as become a librarian was one of the FEW prepossessions women were allowed pursue in the 18th and early 19th century. Nurses come to mind too. That very historical fact is why the majority of leadership position are filled with women.
      PS: Even Barbara Gordon was a librarian until DC kicked that, as it seemed to cliche. Our own continuity is even backing me up. Lol and bye bye.

    Having him cut himself would have been interesting but too dark, so tattoos it was, i guess. Some of them could looks less polished but i love the look overall.
    Few things are out of character for him though, besides kindless. A version of him had the dragon tattoo, another was a drug addicted rapist, another cut his own smile, another had no face skin and so on. This radical direction isn´t that radical in the end.

  Apparently so. The original 1986 Squad actually faugh a similar alien army in Legends but such a plot is best used in JLA.

That Joker in the artwork looks very different from Letos and much more comic book accurate. This reminds of the various concept art designs of Apocalypse from X-Men: Apocalypse which oddly enough looked WAY more like comic book Apocalypse then the actual movie version. What kind of idiot chooses those final movie versions over the actually comic accurate versions ?

the scene with Joker shooting someone at close range looks very cool, also because it looks like the type of violence and brutality you will only get in a R rated movie, which is what this movie should have gone for from the start (Have you read the Rebirth Suicide Squad series ? Its bloody and brutal as hell with people getting their brains blown out and shot to pieces in all its gory glory. THIS is what Suicide Squad must look like. Uncompromised, brutal, bloody and profane. In short: Rated R.

of course with that I dont mean that every DC movie has to be a gorefest. Of course a Superman or Flash movie or even Justice League should be PG-13 because that would be faithful to the nature of the source material. But if you look at comics like Batman, Deathstroke, Suicide Squad or even Wonder Woman (we´re talking about a warrior goddess from greek culture here, who cuts down her foes with a magical sword) then if Warner really had the balls to remain faithful to the tone and nature of the source material, they would totally make it R.

Just like Marvel is never gonna do a PG-13 Punisher (and consequently created their Netflix niche to represent those R-rated characters properly) and like Fox is now really doing things right as well with R-rated Deadpool and Wolverine films, WB needs to understand the fact that you can´t just apply the same tone and rating to all of your films in a shared comic movie universe. You have to do right by the original characters and their source material and remain faithful to them and their nature. There is no "one size fits all" here.

Also anyone ever notice that most Suicide Squad news seem to be about what could (and should) have been instead about what we got ? That just really shows how much WB missed the mark with the execution of this movie.

Yeah it made a shit ton of money and investors are happy but should this be the standard in a DC Comics movie universe ? DC is the fucking godfather of superhero comics for gods sake.
