'Suicide Squad' Digital HD special features includes a gag reel and lots more

We're about three weeks away from the November 15th Digital HD release of Suicide Squad, but if you have iTunes or an Apple TV you can get a sneak peek at all of the special features, plus the cover art above.

In the screenshot from iTunes below, you can see a healthy dose of extra content, including a gag reel!

I would expect the Blu-ray to have even more bonus content, just like Batman v Superman did over its digital version, so stay tuned for more special features once Warner Bros. announces them. You can pre-order it now on Amazon.

In related news, Amazon has released the back cover art of the Blu-ray which reveals the extended cut is only 11 minutes longer. That's two minutes shorter than the official press release promised, so we'll have to wait and see if there was a misprint somewhere.

Studios have me by the balls lately. I can't resist buying digital because it's released early and sometimes has more features, but then I also buy the Blu ray because I like having a nice collection of them to store somewhere 😕

I just don't find the reason why always release digital in November then the Blu ray in December, I remember back then it would just be the Blu Ray and that's it, now I'm SOOOO tempted to buy the digital release that I can't savor the features and plus if you buy from the Xbox store the movie lags just like how the UE of BvS did

Maximizing the profits, that's why. Fans are most certainly very tempted to buy the digital release, but the bluray will have some extra features and all that so they'll be tempted to buy it again. I think that move is a clever way to make more money, but at the same time it's really low of them to milk our wallets like that, especially when the theatrical product wasn't even superb.

That's what happened to me... I bought BvS UE on the Xbox Store digitally then bought the nice steelbook.
Probably going to happen with all the DC films... I'm a sucker for DC.

It's a called a "staggered launch".
They do it 'cause they know they can essentially sell the same product multiple times to the same people (hardcore audience).
Personally, if you don't like the practice, then don't support it... Or they'll just keep doing it, otherwise.

Sometimes, I'm blessed to be an old fart... I don't have a streaming source or PC hooked up to my nice TV so I can ignore the Ultraviolet release and wait for the BRD.

That 11 minutes thing is either a printing error or it really is shorter. Either way, we got ripped off. The only improvements I can even think of is a bit more character development for a few of the squad members, slightly more Joker, and the Joker/Harley relationship might be shifted towards the abusive side, but that's not enough to save the movie.
Though a couple of the action scenes I kinda enjoyed. They're not good, but I thought they were fun (the final battle was shit tho). The only way to improve the villain to me is to get a different villain. Enchantress was a bad choice for a villain. Even if WB didn't hack the film the way they did, the villain still would have been bad.

  I wouldn't be surprised if Suicide gets the Watchmen and Blade Runner treatment after people will criticize the Extended Cut as well and WB will pull out another version that's even longer,because I actually think they have a lot of footage left that's waiting to be seen.Hell,just give us deleted scenes and we'll do a fan edit ourselves.

    Agreed. Though to be fair, there could be some alternate scenes in the extended cut. Like the different opening with Enchantress and Joker shoving Harley out of the chopper to kill her. Of course, we'll find out what the deleted scenes are when the cut is released (or when the scenes get leaked).

      I don't think we'll get to see deleted scenes on the Bluray now that this Extended Cut is coming out.I was hoping to see two scenes on the BvS Bluray that Snyder mentioned in interviews(the one where Superman goes searching for Martha and hears cries for help from lots of people and one with factory workers in Juarez talking about not needing safety measures now that there's Superman),but there was nothing shown.
      Maybe someday they'll get released,but as of right now,I don't think they want to do it because they're afraid of more backlash and it might affect the sale of Time Warner in some way.

      Oh,I see. I'm very curious if they'll add the scene where Joker throws Harley out of the helicopter to kill her,considering how all the teenagers post pictures of those two and write "Relationship goals".They turned an abusive relationship into something hip for the kiddies to enjoy and making it like it really is might throw some people off.It remains to be seen.

    Blade Runner got the treatment it got as none of the cut´s were done by the director before the Final Cut and multiple cuts were floating around for 2 decades by then.
    The 1st FC versions also had all cuts on it.

      Well,if we're to believe the THR report,the Theatrical Cut of SS wasn't Ayer's cut.At least not entirely.They hired the guy who did the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer to cut the movie and make it more "fun".
      I've seen all of Ayer's movies before this one to know that's not how he wanted to cut the film and if he did,then he went cuckoo in the head.
      This Extended Cut is also coming out because of backlash from the TC and to squeeze a few more bucks from the people who mildly liked it or didn't and are curious to see if it improves anything,but everyone with half a brain should realize that 11 minutes added to a movie with lots of characters won't bring much to the table.

Honestly? I think it's for the best. Bad movies ask for bigger improvements, if we keep getting not so bad movies in extended versions many fans will end up accepting it and consequently stop asking for highly needed improvements. Take BvS UE for example, it fixed a lot of plot holes and made the story more coherent bringing, in general, a better movie, what led to many people using it as an "answer" to all of the theatrical release's criticism thereby forgetting that the official cannon movie, the one that really counts in the DCEU, was the poorly written, edited and received theatrical release. So yes, I believe that the extended version should include nothing more than cool deleted scenes and fan-services instead of having the responsibility to desperately fix a bunch of the original film mistakes. Just my opinion though.

  I do get what you're saying,but there's no canon and alternate version of BvS.
  The Theatrical Cut was made for financial issues and rating.Taking out 30 minutes from the movie will leave some gaps,but it will play more times per day during its theatrical run and therefore be making more money as opposed to a 3 hour R-Rated movie.
  I'm part of a very small minority that enjoys the Theatrical Cut more than the Ultimate Cut,although I like a few things added in the latter,but that's a different story.

    Yeah, I know and agree with all that you said. But when I said canon - probably not the best choice of word in that case - I meant that the theatrical cut should be the one to be taken into consideration as being part of the DCEU, something most people stopped doing it after the UE came out. The difference between the two movies are minimal when you take a look at the big picture, no major plot points were modified, but there were still some differences mainly in the Africa's subplot and Clark's investigations subplot, and in these cases the theatrical release is the one that has to be officially taken into consideration from now on (though I doubt the DCEU will ever touch on these subplots again in the future).
    I liked the UE a little bit better but the things that bothered me the most in the movie like lack of motivations in general, very superficial dialogues/scenes - NOT all scenes though, just making that clear lol - and some of the characters personalities obviously did not change. So someday if I decide to rewatch the movie just to watch - not bothering with incoherences, plot holes or any of this sh-t - I might as well just watch the theatrical release because is shorter and gets to the point faster.

      I watched the Theatrical Cut in theaters 4 times(once in IMAX) and I would have kept going,but I got broke. :)
      There were some scenes that could have been smoother,but the things that were taken out of the film actually made me more fascinated with it,because I could have my own little puzzle and fill in the blanks with all sorts of interpretations.
      I said this before around here,but watching the UE felt like I saw a magician reveal his biggest trick and therefore made it less interesting for me after seeing it.Although I love the extra scene with Martha and more CLois,it kind of dragged a bit and I wasn't anticipating the ending as much as I was in the TC.
      An ideal version would be the TC with some of those scenes added in it,but this is strictly for my own sake.Not saying it's how the movie should really be like.

11 minutes are a lot, but something tells me is not all that they shoot, we NEED a complete cut of the movie, it makes no sense all the shit they do, thew movie was ok, i just want the complete version

I'm glad that this likely won't be much of an extended version, that will somewhat drastically alter the movie, like BvS' Ultimate Edition did.

i REALLY doubt it, but i REALLY hope they fix the movie by taking out all the character posters from the movie, change the super rushed opening scene and put the Enchantress opening, and fix the editing all around by adding the missing scenes, i really hope this is the complete cut

For the people who want the original film advertised pre re-shoot and BVS reaction. With the R rated joker scenes, no corny info graphics and rock music Joker pushing Harley out the chopper to kill her not "save" her. I would highly suggest you boycott this version of the film. Don't let WB think they can get BVS DVD numbers with the same film with a couple extra joke scenes. We need the original untarnished work of art.

I heard about this cut, it sounds more like ayer's style if what I read about it was true I was indeed hoping to see some of those scenes in the extended cut but from what it seems that will never be released.

I'm so excited to see Joker and Harley but still bitter for the many cuts. They honestly should have done a movie about them instead the Suicide Squad who let's be honest nobody cares.
