In 2007 George Miller signed on to direct a Justice League movie. Armie Hammer was cast as Batman, and Teresa Palmer signed on to play Talia al Ghul. However, the movie never made it into production and it was canceled about a year later due a denied tax rebate and the writers strike.
Nearly 10 years later, Talia al Ghul is still on Teresa Palmer's mind. She told Screen Rant that she's "100 percent" behind the idea of playing her in Ben Affleck's Batman movie.
“I was going to be her," Palmer explained. "I think Marion Cotillard played, I don’t know how to pronounce her last name by the way, um she played Talia Al Ghul in one of the Batman’s, I remember thinking, okay well, obviously she’s going to play Talia Al Ghul, but if there’s ever an opportunity I would absolutely love it. Put it out there. Can you put it out there for me?”
When asked if she would campaign for the role, she told Screen Rant "Can you make it a thing? I’m doing it.". That'll be a pretty short campaign, though.
After this interview was published last night, The Wrap did some digging. According to their report, there are no plans for Talia al Ghul, or her dad Ra's al Ghul, to be included in Ben Affleck's Batman movie, or any upcoming DC Comics movie in the foreseeable future.
This isn't the first time Teresa Palmer has campaigned for the role since missing out in 2007. She also made a push to play Talia al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.
