Ben Affleck and Jason Momoa have a beer after wrapping 'Justice League' in Iceland

A few weeks ago the Justice League cast and crew had a wrap party in London, where they had filmed for the last six months. There was still a little bit of work to do, though. Shooting continued in Iceland this week, and we got our first look at Amber Heard as Mera. According to Jason Momoa's latest Instagram post, it would appear that they're officially done for good now.

Momoa posted a photo with Ben Affleck as they had a Guinness, and said "My man. The Batman. Love ya bud @BenAffleck. We did it, that's a wrap."

With Justice League apparently officially done shooting now, it's off to the editing room! They have about a year to get the movie ready for the masses. It hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

  Even before BvS the tone for JL was always going to be lighter they knew going into BvS it was going to be a very dark in tone movie where JL will be much more light and hopeful in tone

Let's just hope Zack didn't ok a 4 hour script, which is definitely the main reason why BvS was the mess it was. WB also gave the go ahead so they are definitely at fault there.

Let´s be realistic though. He is on his 4th director´s cut by now. I don´t want a 5th, his reputation took enough damage, but he wants to continue working on these high budget films, and with WB too, so a 5th one it is... Let´s hope that at least Wonder Woman sticks to 1 version.

      Bane filmed backstory is missing, the film has the pacing of a freight train and scenes are clearly missing. As the death of the cop Gordon converts ( to not get an R) or a scene with Bane´s tumblers. It needs to be a 2 part finale, for one. Still a 9/10 as the gaps can easily be filled in your mind.

      I never had a problem with the pace or felt like any necessary scenes were missing (as you said, any gaps were easy to fill in almost automatically), but I did forget about the Bane backstory stuff they filmed. Still want to see that!
      There were other issues with the film for me, which are mostly personal preference, so I forgive them.

Affleck never edited even one of his films, neither did Snyder, and JLA is keeping David Brenner.
He also cut MoS + BvS. Brenner is an Oscar winning editor for Born on the Fourth of July btw.

  Ken has a point. Editing is one of the hardest parts of the process to get as an outsider and most meant direction, script and cinematography issues when they complained about the TC of BvS and SS. Want we don´t need is a last second panic, as BvS clearly went though.

For people worrying about the editing of this movie, remember what led to the ultimate cuts we got! BvS had a confusing and a poorly/rushed written script that even led to plot alterations in the theatrical release (though the UE doesn't fix a whole lot) it was also too "mature" at some moments and apparently "too long" for WB. Suicide Squad basically suffered from WB bitching about the tone of the movie, leading to reshooting and some severe editing over David Ayer's version of the film as rumors said. So considering JL already has a lighter and more hopeful tone decided and established, as long as the script is better this time and Zack doesn't have something around 4 hours worth of untouched material - though it would be awesome to see 4 hours of Justice League - I guess we can calm down!

Zack does his own storyboards (he wanted to be a comic artist before he went to film school).
B-N even shared his JLA ones for Deathstroke, and his 3 previous DC films were layed out by him too. You may mean the script and he only wrote SP and 300-2 (kinda).
Terrio is still in (at least 50% of BvS were by him) and Goyer (at least 33%of BvS were by him and 100% of MoS) is out due to Krypton. Geoff may get a credit too (if he goes over 33%) and i expect Affleck to have input on the Batman scenes in BvS and JLA 1 / 2.

What I would like to know is where was Warner Bros's concern for Interstellar's run time? or The Hobbit? or Lord of the Rings? even The Dark Knight Rises had a 2 hour and 45 minute run time.
The TDKR, Lord of the rings and The Hobbit all got close to a billion or crossed it and I don't think even they got as heavy marketed as BvS.

    Oh definitely, if they just kept the Africa scenes and some of the investigation scenes then that would have made the theatrical cut so much better. The theatrical version was what? 2 hours and 30 minutes? Could have pushed for 15 minutes more, or they could have cut or made some other unnecessary scenes shorter to fit them in.

      Yes, it could totally work.But considering they really needed to be at the 2 hour 30 minute mark - pff - I think they made the wrong choice by choosing to keep all of the dream sequences in the movie and removing a lot of scenes that were really important to sustain the naturally troubled story they chose to tell, like the investigation and Africa ones that you mentioned. I don't know how important the dream sequences will be in the future of this universe, but they definitely didn't help the flow of the movie and had better replacement, but still, I fully agree that they could keep both by just going 15 minutes above the theatrical release. Let's just hope JL doesn't have to go through all this mess --'

I agree they had plenty of time to write the BvS script - the movie even got delayed one year to assure that - but still, Jeremy Irons once let slip in an interview that the script wasn't even done yet, and by the time of the interview they were already halfway through filming! At the time many people got worried but eventually everyone just forgot about it. So I guess "rushed" really wasn't the right word, that being "troubled" I guess. About Suicide Squad, I agree that the movie was too messy to be fixed by Ayer's dark view or 13 extra minutes, but this doesn't change the reasons why it also has an UE.

The script wasn't rushed, really. It had 3 years to be crafted. Like Residentgrigo said, the script was based off of Goyer's work and Terrio has written good films. I don't like the way Goyer writes. I want to see Justice League with Terrio's 100% control over it, I know you'll be pleased.

  Oh I know I'll be pleased! I'm a big fan of Terrio's work and I believe that with the help of Geoff Johns they did an amazing job! Yeah, I believe "rushed" was totally not the right word to be used, I would classify it as being troubled rather than rushed. Like I mentioned in my reply to Captain DC, Jeremy Irons once let slip that the script wasn't even done, and at the time of this interview they were halfway through filming! So even though that had a great amount of time to write the script - few people remember but the movie was originally set to come out a year earlier! - I still think they didn't use their or ideas wisely, resulting in what we saw.

He's been shooting Justice League, producing stuff, promoting The accountant, doing all sorts of post-production and finishing touch for Live By Night, working on the script for his solo Batman movie, being a dad to his three children, etc. I think it's amazing he's even alive.

And it's all shot on film! So far not a single DCEU has been shot digitally. JL has an aspect ratio of 1.85 which I'm grateful for, it's going to be an experience of a lifetime.

  It can be seen in the trailer, since the image is higher than 2.35 but still has the width.
  So far its the first DCEU film shot in 1.85, although the IMAX shots sequences in BvS have an aspect ratio of 1.44 we didn't got a version on the blu-ray where those scenes are in the 1.78 aspect ratio thus so filling the entire TV screen. I understand the decision though, it doesn't help the image quality of the 35mm scenes which are in the majority.
  Wonder Woman is shot in 2.35 also on 35mm film. I think we'll find out soon how Flash and Aquaman will be shot. I figure both on 35mm as well but I wouldn't be surprised if Aquaman will also be in 1.85 though and I wouldn't mind it either :P

Wonder how many cuts this movie will go through before making it to the cinemas. Time to earn that "Filmmaker Driven Studio" title back WB. DC fans have supported as much as they can with the 3 movies in DCEU so far. Give'em something to celebrate Warner Bros. Bit it actually is. Nolan is exhibit a, Sucker Punch got butchered but it still exists, LotR went though MANY studios before WB gambled on it and so on. A faulty distribution system doesn´t make them less artistic or risk averse. Most other studios wouln´t even bother after all. They also form long therm relations with their top directors.
PS: I celebrated all 3 DC films. No other studio would have filmed UC BvS. Zero debate here.

  I haven't seen sucker punch yet so can't comment on that. Nolan, Peter Jackson, Eastwood, George Miller are all already well established directors. I also understand giving full control to directors can also be a bad thing. (new Peter Pan remake for instance). But What I don't understand is how high were these studio execs when they decided to go with the Theatrical version of BvS, when they had already filmed all those scenes in UC? It makes no sense at all. All I know is somebody screwed up big time at WB. I believe the same thing happened with Watchmen and Hobbit movies too. If their idea of "Film maker driven studio" is driving the film makers away from making their movies, then I'd say they're doing a fabulous job.

    Ayer stuck by them and how many swords has Snyder gladly jumped into by now? Work for hire people wouldn´t have lasted, sure, but i get i feeling that they are setting up the franchises with set teams in mind. Such a director with stick by the studio if they stick with them. WB´s Hobbit though got bloated midway though to 3 films and Potter Begins is now a 5 part series... (David Yates is the Snyder of magic by now!). That parctice is of bigger concern to me. Snyder promises a cohesive ending to JLA 1, with a door open to the 2019 sequel, so we will see. What i don´t want a back to back 2-part or more films. You always get a weird mess that way but Rises should have been one.

What do you guys think? I've seen his picture here and there. I took a closer look. He's an actor called Russell Balogh. Says he's been working on Justice League for 6 months. Meaning, he must have a big role. Though we haven't heard anything about him. He looks EXACTLY like Henry Cavill. My far-out theory? Maybe we're dealing with a clone Superman or a bizzaro Sups. I don't know, something about him makes me think he's in JL not by coincidence.

That's Cavill stunt double i believe, seen him in the BvS extras, he takes the Batman kick to the chest into the skylight, im not 100% sure.

  Yeah that could be, and it could be anything. But on IMDB, he has acting credentials, it doesn't mention if he stunts or not. It would be a cool twist if he indeed has a surprise big role.

    Question is, what was he doing in Iceland without Cavill. Maybe he's a also stand-in for guys like Ben and Jason, or he simply acts as an extra in some scenes.
    Can't wait to find out what plot twists are going to revolve around Superman. I think it's going to be a very tightly kept secret until the release. I don't expect they'll do the same mistake as with Doomsday and reveal a major twist in the next trailer.

      Exactly!
      I remember my jaw literally dropped to the floor when Doomsday was introduced in the trailer. Couldn't believe that, after 2 years marketing a Batman vs Superman showdown, they do a 180 turn and, last minute, give us the ending twist.
      Anyway, I hope they learned. Like you said, Superman should be blacked out from any marketing material. He is the mystery of the movie. WB has 5 other superheroes to focus all the marketing on, with 3 of them having never been featured in a movie before. Leave Superman's rebirth story for the actual movie.
