Even the Justice League director is into cosplay! Zack Snyder just shared a photo of himself wearing Ben Affleck's Batman gauntlet while making some notes to a movie storyboard on an iPad.

Batman News has a hi-res version of the photo above for you, and if you look closely you can see that the scene Snyder is working on involves Deathstroke!

Now the big question... is Deathstroke actually in Justice League, or is Zack Snyder just helping Ben Affleck with his Batman movie?

    The final 45 minutes of Dawn of Justice has a level of sheer visual power that I can't recall witnessing in another film. I honestly can't. Within that 45 mins is a 4 or 5 minute sequence which is breathtaking. I know a lot of folk don't like Snyder's story telling and tone choices, but my goodness he has few peers when it comes to astonishing, powerfully dramatic visuals.

      His action sequences are indeed breathtaking at least. But I wouldn't say the same about the visuals only due to the color, everything was too dark and ugly, WW didn't even have colors!

        That's true, but never bothered me. Snyder seems to go for a different aesthetic in his movies, and I rather enjoy it. It works fine for comic book movies, I think.

        I guess I enjoy the final product, by final product I mean the whole scene itself. But when it comes to details like WW colors it kinda bugs me, hopefully he's going a little bit more colorful on the JL movie, I'd like to see that.

      It was disgusting cgi, it looked so terrible. All they do is add smoke, flares and make it dark as FK. That isn't beautiful, it's ugly and lazy.

    All Affleck needs is the fight choreographer (Guillermo Grispo) from BvS, so no he doesn't need Snyder at all. Snyder can't even do good action without involving death.

That's not just in the Dark Knight Trilogy, he has had that rule for decades now and it even played a HUGE part in The Red Hood.

        Yes Snyder is amazing with action, and that warehouse scene was amazing but if he just held back a little bit then it wouldn't have just been a great action scene but it would also fit his character. Throwing the crate in the guy's face and squashing his brain was not necessary, or during the Batmobile chase, shooting at the vehicle and then driving through it was not necessary. Also don't get me wrong, I don't fully agree with Johnny either, I think Snyder should have a say in the action but he needs to know where to draw the line.

        Him killing was explained throughout the narrative of the movie. Alfred acknowledges that, and doesn't like it. The cops and the citizens acknowledge that. Even the guy who talked with Clark, "There's a new kind of mean in him. He's angry and he's hunting."
        Look at the "Everything's changed" scene.
        Or when Bruce says to Alfred:
        "Bruce Wayne can't break into Lex Luthor's house."
        And Alfred replies
        "Bruce Wayne won't have to."
        Then right away Bruce stares at the Bat-suit like he's possessed by it.
        We're talking about a veteran Batman who's been out fighting crime for 20 years.
        Wayne Manor destroyed, Jason Todd's death and who knows what else happened.
        "Criminals are like weeds, Alfred. Pull one up, another grows in its place."
        His mindset changed. Especially after Zod's invasion, and let's not forget the look of his face after the Senate explosion.
        Nolan's had no excuse till "Dark Knight Rises", especially Burton's. Great Batman, killed and had a smug face about it.
        But when it's Snyder, we ignore every hint the narrative gives away especially with the Bruce-Alfred interactions?
        You must have big hate issues with Snyder for hating on a movie that is self explanatory. Not saying that you have, but there are a lot of people who hated the movie the day it was announced. And many already hate Justice League.... this is just horrible behavior from grown ass people.

        Big Snyder fan so don't bite my head off. Love MoS and BvS, BUT! You must understand that yes Nolan had batman kill people but so many times it feels as if he didn't really. At least not directly, most of the time off camera and also made it apparent that batman doesn't kill. In BvS though he does outright kill numerous people when he really didn't need to. When he shoots the flame thrower cannister on KGBeast one could argue that sure batman never had much choice and you could argue it was a matter of kG or Martha dying so it gets a pass. Much the same way that Bale batman had to kill Harvey dent cos he had a choice to save a family or let them die. But Snyder has batman literally blowing up guys with his gun turret on his batmobile when it's clear as day the goon shooting at him was paying no damage to that apparent bullet proof batmobile. He also stabs a goon in the chest in the UE warehouse scene which for me is the only death batman really is responsible for. The guy getting blowing up by the grenade is a bit shady but I say bats is not the responsible one of their deaths. He blows loads of cars up with his bat plane while people are beside them. And I don't remember Alfred questioning him once about it. He throws a newspaper down with the branded criminal and condemns Bruce for it but there is no mention of murder. I think that's why people feel annoyed by it. Batman doesn't kill forget early comics or earlier films, he just doesn't. That's one of the big talking points about the character cos if he did just kill then criminals like joker won't be escaping prison to do more harm to people. Batman being jaded on BvS is fine but this is a new universe with a new Batman and his disregard for human life is not properly explained at all. It is a gripe I have for the film even though I loved it. That's why I'm happy that Johns came out and said that batmans actions regarding murder will be addressed in Justice League.

        1. batman shot the flamethrower canister then KG Beast lit the escaping gas with his flamethrower flame by accident, which caused his death.
        2. dude got stabbed in the shoulder then batman grabs his nuts, he didn't die.
        3. every single batmobile gun turret death was 'death by proxy' in other words batman returned fire at the cars shooting at him, which caused them to explode (which caused the death of the criminals) i believe the only straight up murder was when that dude took a crate to the face lol.

        Uhh...the other straight up murders were Batman throwing a car into a car full of gangsters, Batman straight up shooting a car down with the guy in the back shooting at him, Batman driving his Batmobile on top of a truck with 3-4 people in there and I forgot the rest. The movie is so forgettable, but Batman is a straight up murderer in the film.

        Again 2 of those were not straight up murders, at what point do you see the deaths of the gangsters in the car because you are only assuming that they are dead. In the other not one of Batman's bullets hits the guy shooting from the back of the car, all the bullets hit the vehicle causing it to flip and explode. Now I'm not saying batman didn't intentionally cause those deaths but that isn't a 'straight up murder' its called death by proxy.

He can't avoid them is that not a possible solution? In his batmobile him Killin those people is not by proxy at all. He started the chase and the fight. He flipped cars probably killing them. You can't defend this at all. Batman murdered in BvS. It's fine to like or dislike the movie like a said I loved it but it is shown in the film that batman is a stone cold killer. I mean the crate to the face yeah could of killed him but you could say it didn't as well. But without question batman kills in BvS quite liberally.

      Also, the 'No Kill" rule hasn't always been set in place and on multiple occasions (in the comics) has Batman broke it. I hate how people are so turned off to different takes on Batman.

  I don´t think that the man who gave him the job will be shunned by Affleck.
  He came out multiple times to defend Zack out of the blue on tv, they seems to be very friendly in public and this isn´t his film. The last thing Zack needs is more cooks in the kitchen and i don´t think that he would sabotage the film he himself stars in. What you are asking for is a film with NO vision and a protagonist without direction... No thank you.
  I would frankly be surprised if Zack didn´t have a hand in the Batman film, as this type of production film will be new for him. Affleck is lastly an actual comic fan and he will get what Zack + Geoff are going for here, or in BvS. DKR is Affleck´s favorite Bat comic after all.

    Fair enough but Zack only wrote 1 script (it´s SP, let´s not talk about it..).
    His films are "told" though his very unique lens though, just look above. The has these for every scene in the film. I understand that his c old style isn´t for every one, but his films always have these all in performances. His Lex be my conversational but even haters will have a hard time forgetting him.
    Wonder Woman looks to be a Synder-light, let´s see how it will go down with the audiences.

  I really don't get it man. The guy literally brings comic pages to life. Watch 300, Watchmen, MoS, and BvS and pause at ANY second of the movie. He's a genius when it comes to visuals and a Batman movie could really use him. Maybe they could hire more experienced story-tellers to compromise with the haters, but there is no denying he's an artist.

      Guess what, he won't even talk about the UE. Why? Because obviously being negative about BvS gets the most attention.
      Look at CinemaWins, he explains the narrative and the most infamous and misunderstood scene "Martha", yet those shit heads refuse to accept it.

        Martha wasn't even the problem man, I understood the whole scene. But please answers these 3 questions:
        - How Superman went from exile to Metropolis in less than 5 seconds to save Lois from free falling but couldn't find his mom even though he had 40 minutes to do it.
        - If Superman didn't conveniently get out of his exile due to external reasons, would Batman stand in the rain all night waiting for him? Would he go back there every night for the next couple months until Superman showed up?
        - Why didn't Superman explained Batman the situation? All he said was "Bruce, I need your help Lex is..." and "You don't understand".
        Note: These are only three plot holes of many more in the movie.
        Also, this video is from The Nerdwriter! And also, which movie got released worldwide in movie theaters and is the official movie to be taken into consideration as canon in the DCEU? Not the UE I believe...
        P.S: I'm dead serious about the questions, I really want answers but nobody was able to give me any. Hell I bet not even Zack Snyder can answer these hahaha!

        1. Lex literally told him "Fly away, and Martha also dies." He also hinted that the world would be watching, which meant he'd definitely be there to capture the moment Supes kills Batman. The movie was flawed here (no worse in the level of offensive suspension of disbelief that Zemo in Civil War required) but the argument that Supes should have found Martha is a bit moot. If he flew off and started looking for Martha what's to stop Lex just having his men shoot her?
        2. The best we can do here is speculate based on what we saw, as it was rather convenient, BUT many people who make this argument completely forget that Superman told Batman in their first confrontation "Next time they shine your light in the sky, don't go to it. The Bat is dead. Bury it." Batman turning on the signal himself is clearly an act of defiance and a challenge to that. I imagine if Superman didn't show up, it would be rather comical for Batman to try again tomorrow, which probably could have happened I suppose. No reason it can't. But this is a movie at the end of the day, and lonely Batman standing by his signal trying to get Supes' attention wouldn't have been that exciting. Though I imagine there would be other ways to fish Superman out that Batman could have tried, like going to Metropolis and hunting him down. It just so happened that Lex was watching for the signal and orchestrated the capturing of Lois thereafter.
        Comic book movies are often prone to these kinds of conveniences, such as with The Dark Knight Rises, Civil War and BvS. BvS just gets more shit than the rest because it's quite a flawed movie. Though I loved the Ultimate Edition personally.
        3. I agree with you that the lack of conversation was a problem here (again not much worse than Stark and Rogers in Civil War...), but if you watched the movie it was actually a running theme. The courtroom scene is the prime example of this. The world never gave Superman a chance to explain himself. Ever. He was vilified, dismantled, kicked to the curb, his motives were questioned by the public and Batman was consumed by his crusade and had no desire to listen to him anyway. Superman going unheard, trying to be a hero in a world that rejected him, was a constant thing in the movie. Also in the Ultimate Edition before they fight the wife of the Bat-branded criminal who was shanked in prison tells Superman (in reference to Batman) that "words don't stop him. You know what stops him? A fist." And Superman clearly only fights Batman after the sonic weapon goes off, followed by Batman's refusal to listen to him followed by machine gun fire which means Batman is clearly trying to harm/kill him. Fighting is his only option then.
        Truth is we could dismantle Civil War the same way as you're doing with this movie, but we don't because that movie is considered fun I suppose. If you have more questions about BvS I'm happy to discuss. I'm not in denial that it's a flawed movie, but I certainly believe it gets way more flack than it deserves.

        Excellent response mate. A well balanced un-biased view. I agree very much with all your points. BvS certainly is a film that could of been better but the total thrashing it got by critics compared to civil war is crazy to me.

        Exactly. Is BvS a masterpiece? Not in my book, but it's a damn good movie despite its flaws. The tone was dark and somber, but that didn't stop me from having fun watching the film. Seeing Batman break bones is damn near therapeutic to me.

        I agree that Civil War and BvS share a lot of plot holes. Zemo's plan was as bad as Lex if you stop and go through it, and Stark's reason to fight was just as weak as Superman's, where a 2 minute conversation would've fixed everything in both cases. Civil War's mistakes are just more 'hidden' than BvS's (which literally throws them at your face some points in the movie) but they're really just as bad.
        You gave me the best answers about these terrible holes and I admit, I've been going too harsh on this movie, a lot harsher then I went on Civil War, but that's because I really love DC and this movie really pissed me off. I don't give a fu-k about Marvel so I hardly talk about them, but when it comes to DC I'm passional, and it makes me mad seeing some hardcore fans telling themselves over and over that this film was perfect and a misunderstood piece of art! It makes me mad because I want to see DC grow, but some people keep telling themselves that Snyder's a genius just because they love DC!
        I'm just the guy that don't want to see DC get humiliated worldwide for a third time (BvS and SS being the first two times) in a row! So you can call me the annoying conservative guy that wants Supes to smile, Lex to act like Lex, Batman not to kill, movies to have normal colors and Zack Snyder to get the fu-k away from DC. Zack is a great director with some beautiful work in his resumé, but he doesn't do well with well established characters, he should direct his own creations instead of getting kicked and hated for making Superman depressed and Batman kill. At least for the time being DC should really play the safe game that Marvel never stopped playing, when we reach deeper in the universe then we could start trying out some more risky stuff.
        Loved to see that you know BvS is flawed, I guess you're in the equilibrium position of the situation, and that I should calm down and wait for the next DCEU project, just hope it gets back on track asap.         Thank you for your response. I'm glad that I could get you to think about it and we could engage in a civilised fashion. I'm highly passionate about DC and Marvel as well (Batman and Spider-Man are my two favourite heroes in that order) and it just irks me as well to see people trash DC films and let Marvel get away with anything. Before I watched Civil War I read over 100+ issues of the comic and absolutely loved it. It was emotional, gripping and full of grey. The movie paled in comparison - so afraid to take any risks whatsoever that I was left frustrated despite how perfect the portrayal of Spider-Man was, how amazing Black Panther was and how good some of the action was. The entire point of the comic was that A) the conflict gets out of hand entirely because of the heroes - it's their fault and B) Tony and Stark become enemies; their friendship destroyed. The bitter sweet ending of the movie was an insult to the way things end in the comic, where it would have been so much more meaningful for Infinity War if enemies had to unite against Thanos.
        As for DC their number one problem is executive interference. Zack Snyder's Ultimate Cut is clearly a superior version of the film, even though it has problems, and had it released reception may have been better. Suicide Squad clearly had dark Harley and Joker material like the actual comics in its filming, but probably the fear of feminists/SJWs caused them to cut it out to make it more like a soppy-cute love thing for teenies. Hopefully with Geoff Johns at the helm now they can make more focused films. I don't need lighter - the best comics in the world are mostly dark and morbid anyway - I just need more focus and better movies.
        As for Zack Snyder I'm a fan of him not just for his unmatched visuals, but because he is the only director in superheroes right now who can make his heroes feel 'iconic' and larger than life. He also stuffs the movies full of references and nods to the comic, indicating he does actually love the source material, whereas I often struggle to find references in some of the Marvel films. I could probably point out multiple references in BvS that most people missed. That said his main problem is that he's too fixated on 'moments' in his films and he completely fails at grasping nuance and subtlety. The depth of some of the source material goes over his head, and he tends to pay homages rather than realise the message. Although he certainly has more balls than 99% of the people making superhero movies right now (Death of Superman, Batman gone violently off the rails, Batman clearly beating Superman and not copping out with a tie, the courtroom scene, Jesus...) and that's something I do admire. I really did not expect some of the things I saw in BvS or some of the risks it took. Zack just needs someone to help him construct characters better.
        You mention the safe game...but I really don't want DC to go that route. Marvel is in such a winning and comfortable position that they literally don't take risks anymore. Civil War is depressing and dark and ultra serious and look what the movie turned into. Basically the vampire diaries in terms of risk level and substance. 13 movies in and Marvel is afraid to shake up the MCU in a real way. The last great risk they took was Guardians of the Galaxy (I love that movie...). That said a less divisive/controversial route may be good for DC, while maintaining their tone and style. If they build up to the level of hope we want in JL (following on logically from BvS and MoS) I'll be happy, but if the movie is a total 180 and feels like a Marvel film the whole way through, I might be a bit uncomfortable. Not because I dislike Marvel films, but because I want each to have their own voice. I don't want the genre to get stale.
        @disqus_FPjh3VGiKj:disqus I could hug you. I have repeatedly pointed out my own frustrations at how the registration act completely disappeared from the movie. Zemo's presence was yet another way to dilute the movie of being entirely the heroes' fault, and furthermore the whole drama surrounding Tony's parents (who literally never featured in the MCU until that film...) is as laughable as the Martha situation in BvS can be, if not a worse offence. Disclaimer: I understood the Martha scene in its entirety, it's just sadly an excellent idea (Batman realising he's the villain, about to become Joe Chill) executed horridly.

I'm hoping this will be some sort of mid credits scene, and that Deathstroke won't make a Justice League appearance (except maybe a brief cameo or mid-credits scene).
A movie about building the JL, motherboxes, alien invasion, and Superman's "resurrection" doesn't seem like it would give enough room for Deathstroke.

Agree with some speculation already conveyed on this thread.
It appears to me that Deathstroke will at least have a cameo in Justice League. Could even be a post credits scene at this point and just maybe Lex IS the one who hired Deathstroke per the other vague figure in the boards. Snyder has the hashtag "Justice League" in that photo so I think that helps answer our questions. Also, that would help tie in why Ben appeared to have been using the Justice League set and how they could have already developed Deathstroke for screen testing so quickly.
Batman v Superman may have missed the mark, but Man of Steel is like wine, it's gotten better with age, in my opinion. And Snyder has had some big hits on his resume. I simply think he's a convenient scapegoat for people who think they can really deeply analyze films and feel that all he can do is put up nice visuals. In my opinion, he's a good enough story teller and a helluva visual artist.
Why do I have a feeling there may be even more in that photo going on than we can see?

  Which may be weird (chronologically speaking) if the Batman movie isn't supposed to be until at least October 2018. That means this mid or post credits scene would pass over the Flash and Aquaman if it were strictly for the Batman movie. Or then again, maybe they'll tie them all in.

This is what i like and respect about Zack the most. He does everything on his films he can, short of being in front of the camera. Love him or leave him (or go the middle road) but he is giving everything he can.
Slade is now officially in JLA, why not. I hope he is in only 1 or 2 scenes to build the mystery. His mask is coming off though, that´s a surprising.

Deathstroke Rebirth, by industry legend Christopher Priest, is currently on fire btw. and this week´s No.3 even restored a huge amount of continuity. The comic even fixed his daughter, who never really worked so far and a Judas Contract remake is coming soon. 9/10, read it NOW. The new designs are a beauty too:
