Go behind-the-scenes of the first 'Suicide Squad' image

It feels like it was only yesterday when we got the first official group shot from Suicide Squad. It was actually May 2015, and today set photographer Clay Enos gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of that photo.

"I'm poking around looking for some #SuicideSquad images to share," Enos wrote on Instagram. "Meanwhile, here's a @thesharpend shot of me doing my thing."

It shouldn't be long before the Suicide Squad Blu-ray is announced. If Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is anything to go by, you can bet Clay Enos will be releasing never-before-scene shots from Suicide Squad to help promote it!

On the subject, I've been wondering when we'll hear an announcement for the Suicide Squad home release dates. It seems like we knew fairly quickly with BvS and we also knew they were launching it with the Ultimate Edition. Maybe box office performance has more to do with it? I wonder now if we will in fact see an extended edition due to what many may claim as an "over performance" at the global box office with Suicide Squad. If not, I certainly hope they put all the deleted scenes in just for our own viewing pleasure and to help us see more of this incarnation of the Joker. I'm assuming it will be a December release date.

Yeah, since Suicide Squad is still going strong at the box office I think WB wants to take its time. If they announce the Blu-ray release date some people might be like "oh, I'll just wait a couple of months".
My guess is it'll hit Digital HD and Blu-ray in November.

      I like that Ayer decided to stand his ground, he was a trooper though it all.
      The originally screened cut is supposed to be similar, re-ranged scenes and music are the main difference, and even the book is fairly similar.
      It has new strength due to it´s more lengthy and introspective format, but also new weaknesses due to the lost audiovisual appeal of it all.
      BvS also hand changed and trailer only scenes. The promised 10 min. (?) of deleted or alternate scenes are all i need.

At first I thought there'd be no way they'd do an ultimate cut. Now, I'm not so sure. They've waited a LONG time to announce and I think they are missing an opportunity to do a different cut. I'm all for it.

  How many times must Ayer explain that this is his film, why scenes got cut and that he never liked the concept of multiple cuts. He never did one before too and i have no idea how the film is supposed to greatly improve without making a new film.

WB was anxious to get the UC into the public's awareness when the "badly edited" criticisms started coming in. OTOH, the scenes removed from SS would turn the narrative into a completely different direction, so I don't think we'll see them in a complete cut... but a "Harley & The Joker: A Love for the Ages" featurette that uses them could happen (and I am being completely facetious with that title choice).

I still remember the day that this photo came out and there were a lot of people on the Internet (and here, you know who you are) that immediately dismissed this photo and said the Squad looked like terrible cosplayers.

Flash forward to today and the movie made enourmous bank. Was it a perfect film? Nope, but no film is. What it helped solidify however, is that after just three movies, the DCEU has an enormous fanbase, confirmed by overall box office generated in theaters and through home video sales.

Bring on Wonder Woman and Justice League!

  It ended up being a very poorly made movie anyway. Honestly, it wouldn't have mattered much if the costumes were great or not, the movie had so many more problems than how the characters looked lol.

The movie wasn't terrible.
I honestly believe that if it didn't open with the DC logo it would have gotten a better critic rating and have been called a fun summer action movie with a plot that takes a back seat to the characters and action.

  Who cares. I was frankly a bit worried up to the release (Ayer is hit and miss) but the film arguably over-performed and i was greatly entertained. My favorite team comic now got A-level exposure too (the Rebirth numbers are very impressive) and even John Ostrander came back to write a one-shot and champion the film.

    I care, because I wanted a great movie.
    How anyone green-lit this script is beyond me. It would have been fine for a standalone acton movie, but this is a tied-in movie with characters people care about.
    I mean... The Suicide Squad was pitched as an anti-Superman Taskforce, but none of them come anywhere close to rivalling Superman's power.
    they should have stuck with the black ops angle and had Joker be the main antagonist.

      That´s the best part of the film though. The world build the film gave us is some of the very finest in a comic movie yet. Better than any DC film besides maybe Watchmen.

      To me the best movie is Man of Steel. It was a deep commentary on the sort of man who ultimately becomes Superman. The visuals, effects, Krypton, choreography, score, it was a stunning movie that I enjoy watching over and over again.
      Batman v Superman was good. I really enjoyed it and it had some of the best Batman sequences of all time... But it also had some questionable moments and the Martha scene, although not a plot hole and completely coherent, was pretty dumb.
      Suicide Squad was... serviceable. As an action movie it was a lot of fun with good action and funny moments. However, it ultimately failed to further the DCEU in any meaningful way. Joker was underused, Enchantress was a villain of Marvel calibre (that is to say generic and forgettable). The suicide squad being assembled in case another Superman shows up instead of being a black ops team that does missions what the government can't do or can't risk real soldiers lives for was a clear misunderstanding of what Task Force X is, and ultimately the plot was questionable.
      It may seem like I'm speaking out both sides of my mouth because I'm both defending and criticizing the movie, but promise you I'm not.
      I'll defend any movie against intellectually dishonest criticism, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with the decisions made therein.

      MoS and Squad get a B+ from me, UC BvS is an A, bit MoS is still my least favorite. They spend too much time on it and a few scenes (trucker rage or the epilogue) don´t quite feel earned. It´s still the best Superman film there is though, vs The Elite is No.2.

      Oh I agree, I am a DC Fanboy admittedly, aside from Cap 2 and Avengers and Ironman 1 the Marvel movies are horseshit, but Suicide Squad was not a good movie by any means and I can't stand that DC fans defend it.

      Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not here saying, "Suicide Squad is the best movie ever. People who didn't like it just don't 'get' it. If you don't like SQ it's because you're just a Marvel-fanboy." But I will absolutely defend a movie if someone is citing erroneous criticisms against it.
      If I'm being honest, I loved the characters in Suicide Squad. Basically everyone nailed their role and I would love to see a sequel to see if they can correct the course. I'm going to buy the BluRay for the behind the scenes footage, but the moment the Squad gets in the helicopter I'm turning the movie off.
      The plot itself is ridiculous. Task Force X was never assembled to thwart the next Superman if he turned out to be a villain, it was to do black ops missions the government couldn't.
      It should never have been a world ending event. It's just... Look, I'll defend Man of Steel and Batman v Superman (even with its faults) but I can't really defend Suicide Squad.

blu-ray.com has several 2-disc limited edition versions announced, one with a Harley statue, one with Deadshot, and the third one will most likely include a Joker statue. Saw it last night and wasn't sure if it had been reported here yet.

Really expecting a couple shitty bonus Joker scenes. In which case I'll just wash my hands of SS and never watch it again. If we get at least some kind of compromise with more Joker and "bad guy" stuff that would be awesome. If we can cut the garbage rock soundtrack and just use the score that would also be a huge bonus. I have the feeling there is all this "cool" Joker stuff that Geoff Johns and Ben were like "nah".
