Jim Gordon has the whole world in his hand in 'Gotham' Season 3 poster

The Hollywood Reporter just premiered the first poster for Gotham Season 3!

The poster features Jim Gordon holding a snow globe with Gotham's baddest villains, including The Penguin, Fish Mooney, The Riddler, Selina Kyle, his crazy ex-girlfriend Barbara Kean, Tabitha Galavan, Butch, and the older, sexier, Poison Ivy.

The poster includes the tagline "Mad City", which may be hinting at the introduction of the Mad Hatter.

"In season three you're really going to see how villains have taken up residence inside the city," executive producer John Stephens said. "The villains have become more and more a part of the fabric of the city of Gotham. It's less and less a police show like it was in season one. It's a natural continuation of that in season three."

Gotham Season 3 premieres on FOX on September 19th.

    I was about to quit during season 1, but I'm glad I didn't, 'cause I enjoyed season 2 a lot, it's an improvement over the first season.

This is the make or break season for me. Really enjoyed the first 4 or 5 episodes of season 2 but man, I had to push through the last few episodes.

I gave up on this series about five eps shy of the 1st season finale. My friends told me those final episodes were bad, but they've since told me the 2nd season was way better than the 1st. But I still haven't seen a new ep since I quit Gotham. But as a long-time Batman fan, I think my biggest problem with the series is not being able to let go of what I've embraced as Batman's origin story through the comics. With the exception of Gordon, Bullock, Taylor's Penguin and Alfred, I had a hard time digesting how all the other notable rogues characters appear in young Bruce's life a decade or so before he dons the cape and cowl. Now that they're entering Season 3, I don't think I have the time to invest getting caught up. I'm kinda bummed; I trust my friends' opinions. But my own hang ups as a Batman fan are getting in the way of giving this another shot.

Just put that aside. Don't think of it as canon. Just think of it as a cop drama that happen to have Batman villains and other characters in it. It's a fun, crazy show with some great performances and amazing cinematography. I feel like they've taken 2 or three different points in the the history of Batman and showing it paralell to each other. Like the 40's, 60's and the 90's. and each character is pulled from one of those decades and thrown into this "timeless" Gotham. If that makes sense.
