New 'Batman: Arkham VR' trailer shows gameplay footage and fans freaking out

Warner Bros. and Rocksteady just released a new trailer for Batman: Arkham VR!

At this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, they gave over 500 fans the chance to wear the cowl. Batman News reviewer Andrew Asberry was one of those lucky fans, and you can read his hands-on impressions about the game here.

If you haven’t witnessed first-hand what it’s like to become Batman, then the newest trailer for Batman: Arkham VR will give you a glimpse of what players are calling the closest you’ll ever get to stepping into the role of the World's Greatest Detective.

Batman: Arkham VR will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR in October for just $19.99. It's available for pre-order now.

Looks and sounds awesome but there is no way in hell I'll ever purchase a VR, especially now with the price.

£300? That ain't bad for what you're getting out of it. Its an experience you wont get anywhere else, its a 1080p screen equating to 200 inches when viewing in cinema mode etc for me personally I think its more than worth the £300. But then again I'm a massive gamer and I really just want it for Rigs and any horror games xD I'm stoked for release (PSVR im talking here, not sure about the rift but the VIVE looks incredible)

  This one title? For sure but for me Rigs and Re7 vr have sold it to me. Horror games are where it will shine for me personally! :)

  For me, it's a tad too much, especially since I could buy a whole other console with that money-or fully fledged games. But props to ya, I can see why its an exciting prospect. I would love to try the VR horror games too but I'm not too sure I'd survive haha.

Seems like VR is a 400 dollar gimmick to me. I feel like it's gonna be hard to make a decent Batman experience. The motion controllers would ruin the experience for me

VR is awesome... as long as its room scale. So, not so much with PSVR.

Amazon shows the game itself pre-ordering at $20. Which makes me think it's not a full length game, and therefore not worth plunking down however much on the VR system thingie itself just to play a 90 minute Batman game, even if it is awesome.

I agree with most here, I'm not sold on VR yet. It's exciting though to know that in the near future this technology will revolutionize the gaming experience and many other entertainment areas, but for right now I will pass.

  Lol....not saying its not cool...but I can do without it for the moment. Hopefully, though, I won't be able to say this in the near future, it's a very promising piece of technology.

    That's more than fair, my wallet could probably do without it but man am I excited for this lol. I don't mind being the guinea pig for the first wave of this piece of kit but I'm sure waiting for the inevitably improved models later on down the line and waiting for the library building up would be the wiser of the 2 decisions lol.

To be fair, they say its an hour long, and the gameplay is a lot like detective mode from Arkham or the Telltale game, solving a crime. Putting it together etc. Still, would buy a PSVR if this were a real game, not dishing out for this. Hope I can play it through sometime though!

Not really. Theyve charged 20 for much less and its ok to not be interested just dont buy it. But dont spread misinformation like many many critics of late, ur way better than that. As for the price of vr itself psvr will be the cheapest and will offer FAR MORE than just this game.

I personally don't see the point of a Batman VR game. I mean it looks pretty awesome to experience it but then you see the fists and you're like "Rayman?"

I'll continue to wait for WB Montreals Suicide Squad game and the next Rocksteady DC project.
