Jared Leto just shared a never-before-seen image from Suicide Squad! We saw an image from this scene before, but this time it looks like Dr. Harleen Quinzel in leaning in for a kiss with Mr. J.
Suicide Squad will show the transformation of Dr. Harleen Quinzel into the lovable villain Harley Quinn, and this new photo shows us the beginning of her relationship with The Joker.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th.

I'm genuinely worried about this film. I was hyped for The Dark Knight Rises (with incredibly high expectations, mind you), and it was good, not great. I was hyped for Man of Steel, it was mediocre. I was incredibly hyped for Batman v Superman, and it did not deliver. So I have a feeling this is not going to live up to the hype.
I know that feeling... From what I've read, people reacted mildly positive to the movie. My guess is another "mixed" movie. Hope I'm wrong.
where did you get these reviews? ive been dying to find them. i saw someone else mention that they saw early reviews saying that this would be divisive as well but i havent been able to find anything like that
I don't remember the exact source, but just search for "Suicide Squad early reviews" or something and you'll find some legit reactions. Btw, I haven't read a proper review because there's still an embargo. I've mainly read how audiences reacted to the film, and I've read that some reviewers said it was "okay". Stuff like that... Nothing that confirms one or the other, but I think it's fair to say we shouldn't expect a hit, unfortunately. The best thing I could find was "Audience was cheering and very excited when the movie started and only a couple dozen (about half) were clapping when the movie ended". So yeah, kinda worried tbh... I really like Ayer, but he has made some truly horrific movies before. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

I'd like to mention that it was an incomplete cut and Steven Price hadn't even composed the entire score back then. I wouldn't count on them.
Some of them, yes... Other reactions were pretty recent. But let's hope I'm wrong.
One issue is definitely the high expectations these movies have. After BvS I turned it down, so maybe I will enjoy it a lot more instead of expecting it to be a Dark Knight.
Very true. Movies can be more entertaining when you don't follow the hype. But then with bvs, it was almost impossible with the 3 yr long wait. That long wait eventually caused the fans to come up with crazy plot theories and fan castings that ended up ruining their own experience of watching bvs. My non-comicbook-geek friends enjoyed bvs a lot more than i did.
Normally I would argue against this train of thought but I been reading posted tweets.. It sounds like wb has has fucked up Ayers original film...same editing issues and pacing...I hope its not true..but there have been too many posts that it cant be made up..

I've seen the Smallzy one and one by the Entertainment Weekly chick. El Mayimbe's was cryptic. That's about it. But I don't traverse Twitter often, so I may be missing something.

Nolan screwed himself and all of us with TDK. I remember walking out of the theater blown alway saying it will be impossible to top this movie, it was a true masterpiece! That film changed everything in the superhero genre. TDKR tried to do too much to finish the trilogy, Nolan was ready to leave the franchise and it fell short. But BvS taught me a huge lesson, I will never be as hyped for a movie again! Never!
The Dark Knight not only changed everything in the superhero genre, but movies in general. It had a huge impact.
When I go into any comic book movie now, I don't go in expecting it to be as good as TDK. Because that would be setting the bar unrealistically high. The chances of anything topping it are slim. Being just as good or almost as good? There's hope for that.
Hahahaha Im on the same boat. TDK blew me away, and I was one of the shameful people that let the BvS hype get to me. A lesson hard learned, one I will never forget
Suicide Squad will determine if the fault lays at the director or at Warner.
If it's Warner then my expectation for future DC movies will be an all time low, studio interference is ALWAYS bad news.

Agreed. BvS is still hated by some even with "Snyder's vision" the studio's interference had a mild effect.
for me, anne hathaway ruined TDKR, i've only seen the movie twice and cringe every time she's on screen. I love my dearest batman, but that movie is just no. That's just me, other ppl might agree or not.

I saw you partake in those review-talks—under an article about Harleen and Joker's image—and then comment here on how someone else's 'more relevant response' to the article is 'vaguely related'. So I just pointed out the irony of it.
Which was also veguely related to the article. Difference is, this dude does stuff like this all the time, much like a character would in a cartoon or something. It's something I thought was funny, and it was never meant as an insult. You took it way too seriously. Chillax.

Honestly as much as I hated Thor The Dark World or Iron Man 2 & 3... I gotta say Marvel is literally shitting on DC in film and Hell, even TV. Gotham has nothing on Daredevil while Constantine should have been a hit from the start.
They need to put passionate people behind these projects, not just businessmen and marketing analysts.
I don't watch Gotham, but I do think comparing a network show with a virtually unrestricted media outlet is flawed. I don't watch network shows, but I'm betting most people would say the shows on AMC, TNT, & FX are better. I'm betting even more would say the shows on Starz & HBO are even better then AMC, TNT, & FX; let alone the network shows.
It's not even about virtual streaming vs. network cable.
If that were the case then Breaking Bad would have been terrible.

Is that still a trend for network shows? People recommend to me cable, premium channel, & streamed series all the time. I couldn't say the last time I was recommended a network show.
Truthfully other than say "Hannibal" or "Mr. Robot" or even "Better Call Saul" I can't remember the last time I enjoyed network TV aside from sports.
Majority of my entertainment now comes from Netflix, Vudu and Prime.
Everybody is trying to save a dollar rather than entertain people. The cheap pandering from "Gotham" is just one example.
Then on the other end you have Netflix giving us treasures such as Narcos, Daredevil, Stranger Things, etc.
At this point, I can see Netflix going all in and starting its own movie studio to release full length feature films online. I hope they do because then Hollyweird will start going the way of Blockbuster.
Well, that's not true. Nolan's trilogy, Mad Max Fury Road or Gravity are all huge WB blockbusters that are brilliant films by themselves, and seriously, which studio nowadays could produce a 150 Million dollar R Rated movie that is set in a franchise that was never a big seller in the US and has been out of public view for 30 years, which got tons of awards and nominations including the most important oscar nominations and shit? WB isn't the only one at fault, especially with bvs. They are definitely to blame, but Snyder is one of the major culprits, without a doubt. Ya'll need to stop trying to find a scapegoat. The world is simply not as black and white as you think it is.

I'm talking specifically about this "new" universe where apparently starting off with the Justice League is better than actually establishing them.

There's nothing to say that it isn't. Just because Marvel did it that way and it worked doesn't mean that's the only way. In fact, it's more interesting to do the opposite.

I just want to say is when I go to see a comicbook movie which is about characters that I love so much, I forget that I'm an adult automatically and I see the movie with my inner child's eyes. I know it sounds too corny but it's true. BvS wasn't what I expected but I enjoyed it.
One more thing, your opinion is what matters.
