on 'Suicide Squad' star Will Smith had a fanboy moment when he saw Batman and the Batmobile

Will Smith is one of the biggest and coolest movie stars in the world, but even he couldn't keep it together when he saw Batman and the Batmobile on the set of Suicide Squad!

Smith was a guest on The Tonight Show last night, and told a funny story of seeing the Dark Knight for the first time.

"Suicide Squad is in the Batman world, the DC Comics world, I made a lot of movies. It's all good. It's another movie. But then the Batmobile came around the corner and I was like 'Oh!'. Ben Affleck jumps out of the Batmobile and I was like oh my god!"

Check out Smith tell the story himself in the video above. He also talks more about the movie with host Jimmy Fallon.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th.

So, what makes something Batman is the look of it? I guess having machine guns that can explode with cars with people in them is more Batman-like.

      1. Black Adam Avatar
        Black Adam

Well then, neither jumping-on-the-rooftops, truck-crushing (with people still inside them), transformers/tank is.
Keaton's Batman had machine guns on his Batmobile. And bombs. Also, he used them in opening scene.
But yeah... machine guns are so not Batman-like. Never were. Never will.
        This people with nitpicking...

        1. OGmacrazy Avatar

Because Keaton's Batman is now the standard? He was a kill-happy crazy dude! I love the first movie, but that Batman is not what you want to compare other Batmen to, when it comes to modern Batman lore. Also, Batman never once killed anyone with his Batmobile in the Nolan movies. You obviously are sensitive about this subject, but deep inside I'm sure you know it to be true. It was simpky a response to a very non sensical comment. "This" people with forgetting who gave them the best possible Batman movies after the franchise was absolutely butchered.

          1. Rust Avatar
            Rustreplying to OGmacrazy

Modern Batman lore (or what people choose to focus on within the various choices) isn't the one true Gospel. The franchise is always being reinvented and reinterpreted and branching out many different directions.

Many of the best and most beloved Batman stories are Elseworld, so I would argue that restricting creativity and storytelling in the way people always insist on here is a path to a bland future.

Keaton's Batman was just as valid of an interpretation as any other. So is Affleck's. The Dark Knight Returns was an extreme side-step for it's time too, and now it's accepted and everyone thinks it's the Holy Grail. Have an open mind and let history make itself.

          2. OGmacrazy Avatar
            OGmacrazyreplying to Rust

Sure, but that Batman was more akin to the golden age Batman than any other, and is outdated basically, was my point. Nothing wrong with it, and I really love the first movie, but it really isn't the standard batman movie nor Batman character.

Hmm... Guess that's where the "masterpiece" comments regarding Snyder movies come from. Some people just like to look at shiny things, without worrying too much about what's underneath.

          1. Alan Conn Avatar
            Alan Connreplying to OGmacrazy

And some people take things far too seriously and everyone thinks theyre a critic. So what? So im MORE WRONG than u is that what this is? Ridiculous.

          2. OGmacrazy Avatar
            OGmacrazyreplying to Alan Conn

No. Having an opinion is more than fine. But stating something like "Snyder is misunderstood. His movie was a masterpiece" is a statement of "fact" and not just an opinion.

          3. Alan Conn Avatar
            Alan Connreplying to OGmacrazy

          4. OGmacrazy Avatar
            OGmacrazyreplying to Alan Conn

It's one thing to say "I really enjoy/love this movie. It's definitely my cup of tea". It's another to say "This movie is good." One is expressing how you feel about it and no one can counter argument that. The other is a statement, and is absolutely asking for debate.

          5. Alan Conn Avatar
            Alan Connreplying to OGmacrazy

But its obviously someones opinion. You just want to argue. Who freakin CARES if they say a movie is good? How does that honestly affect u? It doesnt.

          6. OGmacrazy Avatar
            OGmacrazyreplying to Alan Conn

Of course it doesn't. But it is open for debate and that's what comment sections are for. But then people like you get so defensive, and only god knows why, personal, that you prefer to attack as opposed to discuss. Same applies to when people say a movie isn't good, and fanboys immediately attack or try to discuss with them, as I've seen you do to some of my past comments... So don't act like this is something that you're a "victim" of.

Sorry but the Batmobile in every version (minus the Tumbler) reminded me of Barbie's car in black - too sissy, dumb and doll-like for a character like Batman. I was satisfied with the solemn, rough Tumbler.

If it were the Tumbler I'd ask why they didn't bring an actual Batmobile.
Never did like that ugly and impractical "car".

        Queef Police

His voice in Begins was "disguised" but still not dumb. That was proof he was capable of doing a dark voice that wasn't ridiculous. Keaton did it and so did Kilmer. In the last two films he almost had a Minnesota mom accent, especially when he pronounced "psychoEEEAAATHH." A total joke. He really sounded like a bitch, like an angry little boy in the Bane fight.

        1. Queef Police Avatar
          Queef Police

Keaton didn't need to speak to anyone he wasn't standing directly next too because he was that much of a bad ass batman who didn't go around shouting all the time. Loosen the fuck up.
