'Batman: The Killing Joke' will be in theaters an extra day due to unprecedented demand

Earllier this month it was reported that Fathom Events was adding 300 more screenings of Batman: The Killing Joke's one-night-only event. Now, due to "unprecedented demand", the company is adding another day and two additional show times.

Check out their full statement below:

Ticketing: Due to unprecedented demand, a second date and two additional show times have been added. Participating locations for July 26 are limited and ticketing is being set up continuously so click on the orange “Buy Tickets” button to purchase today. If online ticketing is not available for your location, please check back often or visit the local movie theater box office.

So if you weren't able to grab tickets for Monday, July 25th, head on over to Fathom Events to see if the additional July 26th date is available in your area.

Batman: The Killing Joke premieres this Saturday, July 23rd, at San Diego Comic-Con. It is available for pre-order on Amazon now. The movie hits Digital HD on July 26th, and Blu-ray/DVD on August 2nd.

Great news for those who couldn't get a July 25th ticket

So excited for this and Suicide Squad I always thought some of dc animated films should be shown on the big screen

Jl doom
Under the red hood
Assault on arkham
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern both films
Flashpoint paradox

From new 52 the only ones I could say I would pay you see are

Jl throne of Atlantis
Teen titans vs justice League
Batman vs Robin
Batman bad blood

They would probably struggle to make 500,000 dollars at the box office. And it would definitely hurt the video sales, which is the thing that makes these movies make money. Nobody wants to watch that in theatres, and pay a ton of money for that, when they can see better animation, acting, stories, big live action blockbusters, etc.

  I can make a list but i won't of animated DC films in the last 10 years that are better than any Marvel or DC or any live action blockbuster out there
  I'm not saying all the movies they make should go to theatre but considering they added extra screenings and a 2nd day i think the appetite for animated super hero films on the big screen is there
  11.99 makes it half the cost of a 3d movie in theatre so you're actually saving money
  Also sorry just because it's on the big screen doesn't mean better acting stories etc you're simply dismissing other platforms and saying well it's not on the big screen so it's not good

    This movie has hype because of how it was made (it has both iconic actors in their roles, and it has the r rating). It isn't even considered a wide release, and that's why it sold out quick.
    Also, what movies are you mentioning? The undoubtedly best one was Flashpoint, which was great, but it would have barely made any kind of money at the box office. It simply isn't justifiable nowadays. Even in the 90's, Mask of the Phantasm, with a direct tie in to the BTAS, which was huge amongst youngsters at the time, was a flop at the box office, and that one was much better than most dc animated movies that have been coming out since 2007... The stories are almost always very by the numbers, and they are almost always pretty forgetable.

Well, they've not been doing that well regarding their dc animated movies. Not bad, but nothing special either. This movie had a different kind of hype surrounding it. But this is definitely the exception, and not the rule.
