Did Hans Zimmer give away Batman v Superman's ending in 2014?

In January 2014, composer Hans Zimmer hosted an "Ask Me Anything" on reddit. One of the questions he was asked was what the most embarrassing moment of his life was.

The most embarrassing moment of my professional life was when I was in a script meeting and I hadn't read the script and I kept talking about how the two heroes are going to ride off into the sunset and describing the glorious music in great scene at the end and how beautiful it was going to be. Then the producer said "you haven't read the script have you?" I said "yes I have." He then said "One of the heroes dies." -- Hans Zimmer on reddit

Zimmer tried to BS his way through a script meeting, but got caught in his lie! A movie about two heroes, where he expected them to ride off into the sunset, but then found out that one of the heroes dies? That sounds like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to me! It's funny looking back to see that a possible big spoiler was right in front of our eyes!

Composer Arnie Roth did something similar during a FInal Fantasy concert, by accidentally revealing Square Enix was working on a remaster of "Final Fantasy XII" - and while Square Enix (seemingly) had no plans of its production, it turned out that they were indeed making one with plans to announce its existence much later down the line.

Not a Batman related incident, but relatable considering two respective composers made similar flubs.

I've been saying ever since the Doomsday rumors back in 2013 that Superman was gonna die and no one believed me. No one online, or friends and family.

I've said repeatedly that it make sense at least to me that Superman's death will inspire heroes and villains to rise up out of the woodworks. That it would inspire the Justice League, then he'd make his triumphant return in the JL movie and as a symbol of peace would lead the team to victory.

I guess people just didn't want to believe that a death of superman storyline would be adapted with a superman that only had 1.5 movies of screen time. Not trying to hate, even, it's just weird to think about it, especially before watching the movie.

http://www.manofsteelanswer... explains why Clark had to die, but you got it right. I am still chocked that hardcore fans were surprised by Clark´s destined demise. What else are characters as Doomsday or Bane supposed to do? Zimmer´s BvS score is this year´s best one, so far. A+
PS: Zimmer wrote outlines of the rest of JL, so he is still with us in spirit and who knows, he could do a theme a two down the line. DC´s coke is hard to quite, i tried as a teen and only lasted 2 years.

  Clark didn't HAVE to die, it could have been done much better and with actual weight down the line. But Snyder loves those Jesus parallels. Maybe JL will be set up three days after BvS' ending??
  I actually liked this Superman character before his demise, but it just cheapens death scenes as a whole (like the mcu constantly does, and the second JJ star trek), and has completely destroyed the possibility of a movie concentrating on the "death of superman" storyline in the future. Maybe we'll get an All Star adaptation, which would be neat... But still... And I can't wait for both explanations as to how superman regenerated entire organs (including the heart), and how clark kent will be featured in future storylines since he was pronounced death and even had an open casket burial.
  Not even trying to hate with this part, but it is important. the part with the floating rocks is canon at the end of bvs, so it's not someone who will regenerate him with some sci fi bullshit device right? Well, guess we have a year and four months to wait to get an answer.

    I never thought "Death of Superman" was a great story. As an event, it was terrific. As comics storytelling, with the decreasing number of panels per page leading up to Superman #75, it was excellent. But as an actual story, it was lame. Try to imagine reading a text novel version of DoS as was done with, say, "No Man's Land"; there would be very little to it.

      Sure, Doomsday wasn't even a villain, just a plot device to kill Supes. But, superman's inner dialogue and the build up to it was very well done. In this movie it didn't really have the weight necessary to pull it off.

As soon as I saw Doomsday, I was like Superman is gonna die! Wow, thats cool, didnt think they were going there. Wish they wouldn't have outright shown us Doomsday.

I wonder if this was part of why Hans decided to stop doing superhero movies; he realized he was starting to take things for granted and phone it in. I'm not saying he did that with BvS, but he might have decided he was.

He would die sooner or later. It could be in possible Man of Steel 2 or 3 .. But then, Batman showed up to mess w everything :) (Personally, I didn't like he 'died' now. Could be after JL formation, in a bigger battle (also having a bigger funeral too).
