Photographer Clay Enos has shared another new photo from his time on the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set. This time, we see director Zack Snyder framing a shot involving Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg in the rooftop scene between Superman and Lex Luthor.

  I might be crazy, but... I think Cavill's suit would look fantastic with the red trunks. I hope his return suit in Justice League (if it isn't black, and it probably won't be seeing as we got a black Superman suit Easter egg in Man of Steel) is less textured material-wise, a tad bit brighter blue, and includes the trunks—but that's probably just wishful thinking haha

    Nah, I think it looks WAY better without the red trunks. Serves no purpose. While it is iconic, I think the new look is much better.

  Absolutely -- look at him in real life. He is incredibly charming and likable. That's all that's needed. Kinda like Mathew Perry played himself as Chandler.

      No, his comment is correct--I made a prior comment saying how Cavill's suit with trunks would look cool, then GIMPd this up, and captioned it by saying if the picture showed the suit with a cape, it'd be awesome.

This was one of the best scenes in the movie. A lot of people don't like Jesse as Lex but this was one scene he delivered!

  That quote summarizes Lex's motivation. He's doing all of this to prove his philosophy, and yet people keep asking why he wants to kill Superman.
  And my favorite Lex quote: "If man won't kill God, the Devil will do it!"

    Also he just believes Superman should not exist. He's a paradox to existence itself in Lex's mind, and given his level of intelligence, that just gets under his skin and drives him mad to no end. A really cool and interesting way of explaining why he hates Superman so much.

      I understand the movie's flaws, but people complaining about Lex's motivation irritates me. I'm no film critic nor do I even analyze a film, but I was able to completely understand Lex's reasons for killing Superman during my first viewing. The film and trailers gave the answers away, but it's like people want the movie to treat them like they're stupid.

        Yep. He literally explained to Superman and the audience why he was doing what he was doing, it was just done so poetically, that people got lost, became confused, and then became angry and lashed out. SICKENING reactions.

    Yeah, exactly. His motivations were delivered through exposition, while all being delivered in a very add way of speaking, so naturally some were probably confused. Either way, it was very generic the way his motivations were exposed. Typical comic book villain, only now with a batshit crazy performance. This Lex could have actually been awesome, with this performance and all. But the writing butchered him, and the directing too, he could have used some more seriousness and realism. Maybe in future movies, with better directors, he'll be great.

        They are. They serve no other purpose but to tell the audience (represented by Supes in that case) his motivations and why he is doing what he's been doing. In a realistic situation, that'd never happen. It could have been much more subtle.

    Yeah. It's crazy to me that people don't think Lex has an angle in this movie. He preaches his motivation more than any other character.

      It really frustates me whenever I see comments of folks claiming that none of the characters have any motivations.
      Why does Superman hate Batman? He doesn't like Bats' way of justice.
      Why does Batman hate Superman? Watch MoS.
      Why does Lex hate Superman? The quote above explains it perfectly.
      And yet if you bring up any of these points, then people will either say "Well, the movie didn't explain it good.", "I didn't catch that because the movie rushed the explanation", or "It's not a good enough. I demand for more depth and complexity."

        Oppositely, you have some people saying there's too much explaining and not enough action. lol
        The movie had plenty of moments, both expository and self-apparent, to bolster everyone's actions and viewpoints. It takes a spectacular level of not paying attention to result in the amount of complaining I've seen about this.
        Personally, I loved that the battle was cleverly spread over the whole movie via the story and character development, and less focused on literal punches and kicks. That meant that what we got action-wise was therefore all the richer for the build up and meaning. Expert balance.

        Exactly. My dad couldn't get into the movie that much because of the lack of many and long fight scenes, but I loved every minute and dialogue in the film. The fight scenes, though short, had me at the edge of seat. Though it did irk me that people complained that the climax was a CGI shlock-fest, but the last two MCU films, AoU and CW, have a crap of CG in some of their fight scenes as well.
