15 Years of Coverage (2010-2025)
We're less than two months away from the release of Suicide Squad, so get ready for those TV spots! The first one just aired tonight during the NBA finals, and features a few new shots from the movie.
It starts off with a cool look at the new DC Comics logo, and then gets to the action. It's mostly footage we've seen from the trailers, but there is a cool extra shot of Batman on the top of the Joker's car.
Check out the new TV spot above. Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th.

I only wish suicide squad was rated R so we could watch the killing joke then BVS director cut and then suicide squad in theaters. Be there all damn night but it would be worth it.
lol
This is really getting intense! Wishing this was coming out next week or tomorrow than August!
Good thing they only showed what they've already shown.
Can't wait to see Suicide Squad. BvS was also great, so i think this one is also good.
All looks incredible...hard to contain the hype..
I just can't stop thinking about the whole "Martha" scene mess.
Why hasn't anyone bash on far more ridiculous talk between Cap and Bucky in Winter Soldier? That was stupid but hey... it is Marvel. We all love it, so we do not criticize it for stupid things until it's DC...
I didn't like BvS at all, and I completely agree... People just don't understand that scene.
Well, guys from Superheronews have some problem with that, which really surprises me. When people with such a vast knowledge of comic books bash Snyder for that scene, I suspect DC's being hated for not being Marvel.
it was so perfect and so simple, it was heartwarming and brought out the best in both characters. a magical moments for me. Civil War, was the opposite. Iron Man, the fan fav end up being a total asshole trying to kill Bucky for no good reason. Any sane person would be like, but he was under mind control, I forgive you, it must have been terrible having to kill all those people against your will. Batman finishes the movie redeemed, Iron Man tarnished.
Have you ever been so blinded by emotion that you just react? Throwing a punch, crying, saying something you can't take bad? THAT is what happened to Tony. It didn't matter why he killed the Starks, but that he did.
People on this site bitch & moan because Marvel characters are jokey during fights (ultimately, they're really just criticizing Tony), but when Tony actually does stay "serious" in a fight, they piss & moan about that too.
(How I would've done it)
Batman hears the name "Martha" and doubles down on getting ready to kill Superman. Superman turns the tables on Batman and separates him from the kryptonite weapons while pinning him against the wall. Batman is at Superman's mercy and tells him to kill him, when Superman lets him go and explains exactly what happened, begging Batman for his help. Batman has his PTSD moment, and agrees to help.
This is less redeeming for Bats though, and unless you know the comics, casual viewer are like "how is Batman going to beat Superman, thats just impossible" so to have Superman outright win in the end is pretty anti-climatic. Not bad thought man, I will say, not bad at all. People may have liked that more. Batman was a villain in the movie, so maybe he should be defeated by the hero?
The Martha scene forced Batman to choose not to kill Superman, a choice Batman shouldn't be making in the first place since he doesn't ever kill. On top of that, Superman should be saying "Save my mother." And, lastly, the cheesiness of their mothers' names ending the fight completely clashed with the rest of the overly dark movie.
You're welcome to like it, but insulting the intelligence of people who dislike it makes you look stupid.
I see you're very openminded to a differing opinion.
I just don't get how you can rationalize your opinion over someone else's with a level of pomposity.
When marvel does it..all bow down and worship...its dc so they all dickride the wave hate...its the cool thing to do...alot of these trolls have not seen the film..
Ya, people are just afraid to feel real emotions in a comic book movie. You know when people are really scared in a movie so they laugh, and you know they are just trying to "take themselves out" of the scary experience or show other they are not actually scared? There were people doing the same thing when Superman died in my theatre. Thankfully the Martha moment was not spoiled, but I could tell people were feeling really awkward. Like, they weren't expected to be moved by two caped dudes in underwear.
actually if you could successfully analyze that scene you would say that Bruce suffers from PTSD, as Martha, a word he likely hasnt heard in decades is a trigger word that initially generates confusion and a violent response. Until Lois comes and tells Bruce its his mother, he likely would have killed Supes for saying it. and thats the beauty of that scene. I loved it
But Bruce is a detective who found out Clark = Supes. So, he would've known Martha's name.
Isn't it all subjective? Whether you thought one, neither, or both are ridiculous all depends on your own assessment? I find all "serious talk" ridiculous. I'm still trying to find condolences cards that have some humor in them.
As someone who ALWAYS inserts levity into situations, I can attest I'd rather deal with someone going nuclear then someone crying.
Yes to everything.
Is it August yet?
Woh...the new logo actually looked quite nice on film, better than the one in text form anyway.
Also... oh the glorious Bat on top of Joker's car....
I thought so too. I was really happy to see it there.
I love the way they lined the video up with the music, starting with Harley's bubble gum pop at the beginning.
That TV Spot was awesome. God, I hope this movie doesn't disappoint.
I know nobody cares about this kind of minutia, but I wonder if the new DC logo is going to be in the intro of the Ultimate Cut of BvS.
I do care lol, I think there's a good chance yeah, I mean I never thought that they will debut it on a SS tv spot so...
I think it will be on the packaging.
Croc wants dat ass...even if there's not that much ass there.
lol there's none its literally hot pants and legs
I feel like they should have at least ONE serious trailer like the first one. This whole 80's music is amazing but at least one Serious one,
Same Croc, same.

Yes! Jai Courtney still has the unicorn when he kills the thing.
That unicorn is going to steal the show, lmao!
Really looking forward to Courtney's Boomerang http://66.media.tumblr.com/... Never thought I would say that
Same here. Cheers mate.
Indeed to you both. Jai Courney's Boomerang has retroactively changed my opinion of him in Terminator Genisys.
Bring it! https://media.giphy.com/med...
Damn, that cape flow when Batman's on Jokers car....
It's CGI, but looks great!
Real cape would have looked awful. Plus, It would have been really dangeours to do that stunt with a real cape over all the wires.
They filmed that stunt both with a cape and without. I assume it was just for reference, so the CG team could make it look real, while making it do exactly what they need.
I have to say the CGI in BvS was the best in any comic book movie and that includes the marvel films of this year. Just my opinion. It seems like BvS used more practical effects, which helps, the less CGI the better. It's best used for things you just couldn't do otherwise and blending with real footage. The Civil War airport scene was like it changed from the movie to a cut scene in a video game(ok
Exagerating).
I hope Suicide Squad continues the trend.
Exactly.
i think mos had superior cgi to be honest...
Well the movie fight scenes were mostly in the dark, it's cheaper to have it in the dark and CGI doomsday is god awful. Reminded me of amazing Spider-Man 2 CGI goblin or electrico MoS had better CGI.
There was one long shot in BvS where Doomsday moved so awkwardly that he looked like something out of the Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Other than that, I thought the CGI was fine given that the softer edges were a deliberate choice to reflect that he was a newly-created thing, rather than the ancient one from Death of Superman.
Ok, for some reason blocked Doomsday out of my mind haha. Yea, he could have been better. Here's a good example tough I think. Watching Apocalypse, especially with Psylock, probably because she just looks like a normal person except with barely any clothes on. In her big action scenes near the end, it looked really, really bad. The Batman V Superman fight I never once thought CGI. When you watch it again and look for it, sure you can see it.
Doomsday looked average, cgi-wise, for about a half of the time, sort of awful for a few shots (breaking the Superman statue, a few of the later energy blasts/skin splittings), and absolutely phenomenal the rest of the time (the whole birth scene was really good, and the two iirc huge facial closeups were stunning--seriously). On the whole I thought it was pretty well done with the exception of some shots. If I had to compare it to the Hulk's cg in Avengers/AoU, I'd have to say both look average most of the time, awful some of the time, and stunning part of the time (Doomsday more so than the Hulk IMO). Just my two cents lol
lmao, the CGI in BvS was fucking tripe. The last 40 minutes felt like a poorly rendered Injustice cut scene. And by god, those CGI zooms felt like some After Effects level shit.
As if CGI never looked great.
I'm not a huge fan of CGI, but will admit when done right, it's pretty awesome.
That's all I meant.
August is going to be awesome! can't wait to watch the movie here in Argentina! regards to all the batman fans in the world!
Saludos!!
We see Joker before he slaps Harley from the set leaks ages ago...
Yep! Here's that video for those interested: http://batman-news.com/2015...
