Before 'Justice League', watch Ben Affleck and J.K. Simmons team up in 'The Accountant'

As soon as he wrapped up Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck stepped onto the set of another action movie, The Accountant. Affleck stars in the movie with J.K. Simmons, so they won't be strangers when they begin working together on Justice League: Part One as Batman and Commissioner Gordon.

The first teaser trailer for The Accountant was just released tonight, and it looks pretty interesting. Check out Ben Affleck (still in Batman shape) and J.K. Simmons below.

The Accountant hits theaters on October 14.

I have my doubts about Simmons to play Commissioner Gordon, he has that comical relief in his acting but Gordon is a quite serious Commissioner, he doesn't radiate happiness.

      Yes he does have that comical relief in his acting, i remember he played Spiderman's boss at the Daily Bugle in a very cartoon-esque way, he did a very good job exactly like he is in the comic books but as Commissioner Gordon i have my doubts. I guess we all have to wait and see, maybe i'm wrong.

Ok, I'm going to do "COPY/PASTE", he already proved that he's capable to make a serious and intimidating character... just watch him in Whiplash... he is a scary guy. I think it's the common perception since the early 2000s. He's starred in a lot of bad to mediocre movies during that period, but I think he's been getting better and better.

Mmm, I don't know. Affleck doesn't suit the role, appearance wise. Genius mathematics by day, assassin by night? To me, it demands someone mild-mannered with unassuming stature and common facial structure. Affleck is too big, too muscular, and his chin is too much like Batman's.

Hope I'll be surprised. The trailer on the whole is pretty cool, and I'm a fan of Gavin O'Connor. Perhaps if this movie make a fortune, he can direct a DC movie or two?

I think Ben is really improving as an actor. He once said that he looked at his acting job differently when he begun directing. This looks good, I'm incredibly excited to see him as Batman again this August and next year as well as his own directed film Live By Night! The Fleck is back

I feel like he was always a decent actor, I like him in good will hunting and I love quite a few of his early movies. There was just a little confused phase with Daredevil and all the rom-coms, but c'mon, who wouldn't get a little crazy if they were sticking it in Je-Lo.

Don't be surprised if one day she is. Studios release movies to test audiences. JK Simmons and Ben in this is no coincidence. Neither is the premise of the movie. A genius living a double life who is seemingly wealthy and smart in one life and is an assassin/spy in the other? Sounds pretty familiar. Anna Kendricks presence can also be seen as a test to see how audiences react to a younger woman by his side. Perhaps Barbara/Oracle plays a role in the solo Batman film, this movie is a great way to see how people react to that dynamic. It also gets the juices flowing for actors trying to create chemistry for future films. JK and Bens chemistry will be very important in the future.

Well this is the movie that likely got J.K. to be cast as Commisioner Gordon. So it's related to the DCEU in that way.

Today's scoop drop ties to this week's earlier rumor from Devin Faraci that the villain of Justice League will be Steppenwolf and that he's after three Mother Boxes that are on Earth. According to infamous fanboy scooper El Mayimbe, there's much more to Darkseid's attempt to subjugate the Earth 30,000 years ago.

Supposedly, after the conclusion of the ancient battle with Darkseid, the team-up between "Man", the Atlanteans and the Amazons led to a war/feud between Atlantis and Themyscira. We've heard this rumor several times previously and it's continued resurgence means its likely true. However, this is where things get interesting. Apparently, Black Canary (or Black Canary's ancestor) was a member of that original resistance group that battled Darkseid's forces many centuries ago.

Gonzalez also reports that Cyborg will be the key to Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League discovering Darkseid/Steppenwolf's plan, which is a bit obvious, considering a Mother Box was used in creating his cybernetic body. Much more interesting is the possibility that the two remaining Mother Boxes reside with Atlantis and the Amazons respectively.

This all sounds amazing.....and all the evidence points to it being true. I guess that's why Wonder Woman said "I've killed things from other worlds before." If this is the route their going, we're in for a nice treat.

I hope all of this is true. Chris Terrio said he was studying all sorts of mythology and marine life in an interview so It sounded like the Atlanteans and amazons were gonna have a huge part. I just never thought they would ever go this route. This sounds crazy.

    I think he's fine. He knows he could have made another 100 million dollars if BVS ended with a rooftop scene of them shaking hands and some banter about them being effective but doing things their own way. But instead he set up a world with time travel, para demons and mother boxes exist. He set up a world that gods might exist in the skies and oceans. He set up a world were I might be able to see a Martha Wayne joker even if it's only for a second. He set up a world were there is already a dead robin, possibly a crippled Barbara and a dead Sarah Essen. I think Zack has done something massive and I can't wait for more.

      Yes he did all that and a beautiful world at that...he also like to make up scenes and add them in there when the writer did not put that into the story...visually..nobody is better...Story wise...dont let him near the script only to shoot and not add or tweak things..
