Yesterday Gal Gadot announced that production on Wonder Woman had officially wrapped, and early this morning director Patty Jenkins took to Twitter to celebrate the big milestone. A fun little fact that Jenkins pointed out was that they wrapped production on May 9th... the same day Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston was born.
Update: Patty Jenkins continued thanking people this afternoon, and shared a new photo of Gal Gadot in costume!
Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.

I mean what was so hard to understand about your comment? You said that Black Widows fight scenes in Civil War were oustanding and that you hope that the fight scenes in WW will hopefully be just as good. Which every person who has eyes and a brain should agree with because Widows fight scenes were fucking awesome and some of the best I have ever seen in a superhero movie. She has never been closer and more faithful in her displayed skillset to the comics then in that movie. It´s a simple fact. The choreography (much like already for Cap in Winter Soldier) was totally kicking ass.
You also could have said that you hope that the WW fight scenes will be as good as the ones on Daredevil and you would have been just as right. Because those fight scenes are goddamn awesome. And all we want is the fight scenes in WW to deliver something of that same level.

Yeah I thought the fight choreography was great too on the whole. Equal to, if not better than the warehouse scene in BvS. But Black Widow's I always find... Somewhat lacking compared to the others.
The Raid 2, Julie Estelle was dangerous af. That was some proper fighting there.

Anyway on topic. I think Wonder Woman is going to be a really good film. From a story perspective I think it will really appeal to woman and men and after watching Monster I have complete faith in the direction. Regarding Gal Godot, she was excellent in BvS nearly all her lines were delivered well my favourite exchange of hers was when Bruce is asking for the decoding device back, she was just so attractive and I don't mean that as looks (though she is stunning) but she just carried herself with such grace, charm, allure and a nice bit of mischief. Her action scenes were great and a nice tease for what's to come. I reckon the action is going to be spot on as Snyder is producing and he will help Patty Jenkins with any action stuff. No matter what you say about Snyder his action direction is up there with the best.

Just looking at Patty Jenkins bio, I might seem a little thin, but it's the quality of her work that matters.
Monster: What a hunting movie that was. You can see how she understands the essence of what a character is, and how to relate it to the audience.
The Killing: She directed the pilot and last episode of the main story arc. Again, this show was about characters, real people. She did a wonderful job laying out their emotions. It was a very dark subject matter. But she managed to make the audience feel for the story and what the characters were going through.
I think she was the perfect person to helm this project. I have no doubt she will nail the emotion that is required to make this character work, and mix it with the right doze of darkness, joy, love and hope.

Agreed. I am completely against any sort of quotas and this is no exception. The fact that they deliberately hired mostly women (behind the camera) is immoral and unethical to say the least. However, if you're going to do it, at least hire talent. Jenkins' work is very impressive albeit not very extensive. That's my main fear, we haven't seen her do much, but what she's done is very good. I never cared for Wonder Woman tbh. Especially when they try to portray her as "one of the boys". Wonder Woman doesn't need to prove herself in any way and that's something that's lost to mainstream audiences. It's all about "power" and "physical strength" and "equality" and all that other crap and they forget to create a compelling female character. That's what sold me on Jenkins (so far). She mentioned Wonder Woman's kind, soft and caring nature which is exactly what I want from her. I don't want her to be a male character trapped inside a female's body. It's about character, not image.
I'm actually glad the previous director dropped out. And I liked 300 Rise of an Empire, which had an even smaller scale director and Zack producung. So i feel like we're getting the best of both worlds with Wonder Woman.
I was talking about the fact that WB only hired women for the job. They did not look at potential male directors. That's discrimination based on sex, no matter the definition. The previous director was also female so Idk what the difference is. Still, I'm glad they at least went with talent.
Yeah it did bothered me when WB announced they were only looking for female directors, especially since the director of Twilight and Red Riding Hood was one with the most experience in the fantasy genre, and that if they really wanted a woman's touch then they should've had female writers.
I don't see why it matters to have "women's touch". I just want a good story, I don't think it matters who's making it. Hire only women, I have no problem with that if it means they hired the very best for the job. Considering there aren't many female writers, let alone good female writers out there, it comes as no surprise to me they went with a male writer. The weird part is that the writer is actually pretty lackluster. Hopefully he'll prove us wrong.
Then I have good news for you. According to some sources, WB did not know what to do with WW for the longest time -- they had two images to choose from -- warrior or teacher. They ultimately went with teacher. And I'm happy about it. It is no coincidence that in almost all of fantasies and legends, women are warriors of intelligence and empathy, not physique. And that includes WW as well -- look back at her origins, and you'll see that she was a pacifist big time, using non-lethal weapons, preferring to cure evil rather than eradicate.

No, her character. Don't know if you read comics, but lately there's been a tendency to portray her as a ferocious merciless warrior. They are going back to her original portrayal as a teacher of peace and wisdom. That's going to be her thing in JL. Batman is the strategist, Sups is the tank, WW is the teacher.

Love what you said about her not being one of the boys. That's exactly what she's not. And the little time she had in BvS, that was greatly emphasized.
Talking about WB insisting on hiring a woman director, I don't see any issues with it for this specific project. There's a female sensitivity to the character that only a woman could bring a certain value-added aspect. It doesn't mean a male director couldn't do it. There are many examples of fantastic female-oriented stories directed by men. But it's an intangible you could not discount.
I remember how Natalie Portman was pissed when Jenkins was fired by Marvel. She almost threatened to quit Thor 2 (probably would have been for the best, that sucked terribly). Patty excels at the "character" aspect of movie-making. Her resumé proves it. And Gal still being somewhat new to the industry without an extensive acting background, I'm pretty sure it helped connecting with another woman, feeling comfortable in her role, and releasing the necessary energy required in making the character convincing.
I do take issue with it though. Looking back at the list of potential directors, there were a couple of very questionable-to-bad female directors. They could've easily replaced them with far better directors (potentially male). But no, WB had a quota to fill and decided to participate in legal sexist discrimination. You argue that women might bring a certain perspective that men would have trouble with. Okay, I'm not saying you're wrong, but why is it so bad and sexist when every other male-centric comic book movie is directed by a man? Surely that logic is valid both ways.
But again, the point is that, even though they looked at arbitrary characteristics that had nothing to do with directing ability, at the very least they still went with talent.
You're allowed to your opinion. I'm not sure who exactly is saying male directors for CBMs is sexist. It's a testosterone-driven genre, everyone knows this. For sure, there are always social media keyboard warriors ready to stir shit. You just ignore that.
Though we both agree that in the end, they ended up with a quality director for this specific project (someone not with a flair for the technical, but a master of character and emotion).

Elektra: She is a love interest of the superhero Daredevil, but her violent nature and mercenary lifestyle divide the two.
She's a mercenary who's literally too extreme for an extreme hero, Daredevil. So no, Elektra by no means is considered a superhero, just like Catwoman isn't. They're both the same romantic foil to our protagonists, the heroes--Batman and Daredevil. If the ladies were superheroes, there'd never be tension between them and their romantic counterpart.

I hope we see a MASSIVE push to get Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad a TON of press. I understand Justice League is the big hitter but that's so damn far away I'd like to see more focus on what's right around the corner for the DCEU.
That being said, this film is likely the most important thing for women in film in a long time. I'm not even joking. CBMs being so big in Hollywood and at the BO right now and we get to finally see a FEMALE lead. I want this to succeed so bad, and I want the audience to see the essence of Wonder Woman.
Yes there will be. JL is not even being mentioned by anyone at WB right now. Focus is squarely on SS and WW. Those two are what will bring the DCEU franchise to the next level. All hope lies on them in the short term, not JL. They need to succeed for JL to even have a chance.
I love the way Wonder Woman's look translates to the big screen in this short video of her movie. Looking forward to her solo film.
