I know this came out Sunday night, but you know what else did? That awesome clip! And that hilarious skit. This site is just a hobby so I have to prioritize things. I don't have the time to post everything all at once. I wish I did, that would be the dream. But I'm not there yet :/
And while this will be late to hardcore fans, it'll be new to most people. Batman News is huge now and is read by a lot of casual fans too.

Yeah i dont care what they say. Man of steel is a fantastic film. In my opinion anyway. I was watching it today... Yesterday? And In fact its the only cbm that got me a lil teary eyed bc of the scene where he asks if he can keep pretending to be his son and the one where martha breaks down bc shes afraid he'll be taken away. I have a son who is my world and that hit home w me personally. Oh and as for any wooden acting i must have missed those scenes... Again just my opinion. People who say they dont understand where Jonathan is coming from with what hes says and does must not have children. I dunno.
I'm late to this thread but man, I completely agree. A lot of parent/son stuff in that movie from both earth and Krypton parents that I can empathize with. Also, I feel today's Jonathan Kent in today's America would be afraid for his son and a bit paranoid. It makes sense to me. That scene where costners voice breaks and he says "you are my son" gets me every time.

I agree with most of what you say. I don't remember if it got me teary eyed but it definitely impacted me emotionally. So many touching, strong emotional moments, all of which are acted amazingly. I did cry one single tear when Gordon axed the Bat-signal in The Dark Knight, but I was nine and obsessed with Batman and that actually is a very, very sad ending. Johnathan was an interesting character and definitely acted well, but I will never understand why he went back for the dog in the stupid freaking tornado! And why he told Clark not to save him. And why Clark didn't saved him anyway. Also, I will never understand how he could possibly have that thought Clark should maybe have let the kids die
Well in the movie at that point Clark didnt even know the extent of his power as he never pushed until he met Jor El in the scout ship so he probably didnt realize how lightning fast he could be and pets are considered family to a lot of people and those people would absolutely try to go bk for their pet. And finally it may seem strange to many but in these days of opinion on the Internet its to be expected and thats fine but the Kents were afraid for and of losing their son which i absolutely can relate to and understand so Jonathan didnt want him to out himself as different. And he never said he should have let them die he said maybe he should have bc he doesnt know what he should do bc again hes conflicted. To me it makes him seem more human. Just my opinion tho. Damn typing all this w a ps4 controller suuucks. Hahaha

I am sure they did. I mean don't get me wrong, Batman in terms of Ideals and morality is the perfect match against superman. They are polar opposite to a tee. They actually complete each other. I think it was rather the idea, we should have superman fight a super hero, but the question is should we have him fight BATMAN? or should we have him fight a person who can generically able to trade blows with him naturally. I am glad they went the batman way. He is their biggest and profitable hero and could probably match superman in terms of popularity!
I still think other heroes would have work. Especially the Wonderwoman or the Flash. It just doesnt make sense to place those heroes against superman in terms of marketing perspective. To be honest with you i just hope they continue with the opposite trend, cause I really would love Wonderwoman to be Batman's love interest since they are so polar opposite that I would love to see how they try to make it work.

I don't even remember him saying that tbh. Personally I believe Zack when he said that in contemplating what the MoS sequel story would be, especially when it was still a bit up in the air how a dc CU would be, Snyder has said they thought of who the next enemy for superman could be in Man of Steel (I think this is from an EW or Empire article iirc). And Zack said they kept slapping new names on the table and Zack ultimately – as a huge and explicit TDKR fan – voiced... Well what about Batman? And roughly in his words 'Once you say that out loud you can't take it away anymore', which is creatively speaking probably why he didn't voice it right away – because the big fan he is he probably had that in his mind even before he took MoS on. And I find that quite a believable brainstorm process, because once you get to Batman, basically like you say, it's so classic, nothing can compete attentionwise with the most popular cb hero of all time (except things that weren't an option like a JL film). Batman as an antagonist also fits perfectly. And to boot, that also gave them the starting point for the whole DCEU as Snyder has said that he soon realized that by giving WW a role in between this conflict, he was getting really close to a setup for JL. So everything just fell into place. I think only after this did Snyder get more oversight over the whole of the DCEU. He found the concrete way to open up the DCEU by letting Superman clash with Batman. So Snyder's been pretty explicit about that process, so where does he seem to contradict this and say he considered other heroes? I think what he simply meant was a hero antagonist for superman is really interesting and Batman led to that situation being possible and feasible (and pretty much genius imo).
I just re-watched the first part of the video and you're completely right. I guess I just interpreted/remembered it differently the first time I watched it :/
I really love that Zack Snyder knows what he is talking about, he has just such outstanding vision & the greatest part is he is a fan himself. he is not just making the movie for the money but great passion.

That's the point. It's one thing to make a commercial or even letting another brand make an appearance in your movie, but trying to sell it as if it wasn't purely about sponsorship...that goes beyond my cringe threshold.

Except DC didn't get Broke, and wasn't sold to multiple companies like Disney, Universal, Fox, Sony
