Yesterday we got a new image of Batman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the official social media accounts just shared a new image of the Man of Steel.

We can see Henry Cavill's Superman standing outside of the U.S. Capitol Building, speaking to the press. "The world needs to know what happened, and to know what he stands for", Senator Finch, played by Holly Hunter, can be heard saying in the Comic-Con trailer. In the new image, Superman attempts to address the public.

Superman will have to answer for the destruction he caused at the end of Man of Steel in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It's the main reason why Batman has a problem with him, and feels that he needs to be destroyed.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25th.

    What? First of all, ZOD caused all the destruction with his world engine, and during his fight with an inexperienced Superman.

    And secondly, BvS takes place more than a year after MoS. Superman goes to court for an incident that will happen in BvS, not because of the battle of metropolis (although that might be brought up too, but it's not the main reason).

            The world engine leveled a couple of blocks. That was at least 95% of the total damage done. Out of the remaining 5%, most of it was caused by Zod. The only instance I can remember is Superman smashing Zod's face against the side of a building( but that wouldn't have harmed anyone seeing how most people had evacuated), and it was negligible in comparison to all the other casualties anyway. He also damaged the scout ship, but it was the only way he could help stop the kryptonians.

            This was Clark's first day as 'Superman'. He was completely inexperienced and had to go up against an almost equally powered being who had trained his entire life in combat. Zod had the upper hand in most of the fight. Could he have taken the fight away from Metropolis? I highly doubt it, considering Zod had made it clear to him he would kill every single human because Kal sided with them. Could he have tried to get Zod away from Metropolis? yes, but he didn't and that's something which could be brought up in BvS.

            Good god dude, you can't see that you're splitting hairs? I'm a huge Superman fan, but even you can't deny that if two people engage in a fight and start thrashing about, they are both responsible for damages? Yeah he's inexperienced yadda yadda yadda, but the phrase "partly responsible" is not an untrue statement.

            The only thing Superman is responsible for was saving the entire world, nothing else.

            Even if you do think that Superman is responsible for the thousands of people that were killed, isn't he responsible for also saving billions of people as well? cause we shouldn't forget the time he destroyed the world engine and almost got himself killed.

            Yeah but those billions were at risk because of his presence on Earth. Sure, he didn't mean to call Zod and co. over, but he did, and that put everyone's lives at risk. He has good intentions, but his mere presence on Earth is just a beacon to any supernatural beings throughout the universe - which I don't think is the angle BvS is going for but it's still valid.

            Kal never asked to be sent to Earth. I think that's a straw man argument. With that much ability, it was only a matter of time before he would find out who he was and find remnants of his past on Earth. It's not like Clark was an idiot, it shows him in the film as maybe a 14 year old studying Plato lol.

      Wait, what? Hasn't it been more than confirmed that Superman is brought to court specifically for all that destruction in Man of Steel? Snyder and co. have stated numerous times that that would be adressed in BvS, and the cause for the whole movie, making consequence a thing in this universe. I can't see how he'd be called there for any other reason other than that, especially since they shot the Superman vs Zod fight from Wayne's perspective...

        Nope. In fact, Henry Cavill said otherwise just about a month or two ago.
        The primary purpose of including scenes of the battle of Metropolis from Bruce's perspective is so he'll have another reason to fight Superman. The fact that it will also address some MoS concerns is a bonus. I haven't watched the movie so I can't tell you if they bring up the destruction in MoS in the court, but they could but that isn't the main reason why Superman will be summoned there.

    "Destruction he cause" nothing, Zod & crew did it. Of course, they follow the signal from the Ship/Fortress of Solitute, but still a more realistic reason to complain than the ones on the real-world-internet.

    Superman did nothing wrong, however to say he had NOTHING to do with the invasion is false. It wasn't intentional, but his presence DOES raise lot of concerns. Who else out there may be looking for him? What other alien invaders maybe heard his beacon call when he activated the ship? To say humanity is being unfair is little unfair to humanity

        I'm not saying he's to blame, I'm saying he's the catalyst. And as far as Batman being the catalyst for those events in TDK- The BB attacks were happening Batman or no Batman so no. The Joker was a response to Batman so yes. Talia was getting revenge on Bruce for her father so yes but the attack on Gotham with Bane would've happened anyway likely. Also *slightly* different because none of them were trying to wipe out the human race. The Joker kills some people in Gotham city, it's a tragedy but people n Sacramento go about their lives. If Zod had his way, there's no earth period.

      True, although the destruction is not his "fault" per se, the destruction only occurred because of his presence (Zod came to earth because of Supes). Same thing is going to happen in BvS, Doomsday's arrival is only due to Supes presence on Earth, despite Supes good intentions.

    While I like this image of a tortured and conflicted God, I also want to see him inspire hope. From everything I've seen so far, he inspires much more hope as Clark Kent than Superman. Even when he saves people, he has kind of an angry face. I hope, he gets there.

      I think he will, if you think about it, clark can't just suit up as superman and *POOF*!! he's inspiring. He's an alien, he's evolved in the metropolis destruction and he so powerful some people are afraid, so it'll take a while for Superman to grow, probably Justice League part 1

    Nice!! Can you imagine Superman on a show like "Meet The Press"? The interviewer would really put him (Superman) on the spot by asking him really tough questions. And Superman would do his best to remain calm and coherent while trying to clear his name. It would be very intense, dramatic and real!

    On a different topic...has anyone heard Wonder Woman's theme from the "Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" soundtrack? The title of the theme is "Is she with you?"

    Sounds pretty exhilarating to me! I'm really diggin the guitar riffs. It may not be as memorable as her disco-esque theme song from the Linda Carter television series, but it works for her character in the DCEU. Henry Cavill's Superman theme is drum heavy, Ben Affleck's Batman theme is horn heavy, and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman theme has guitar riffs.

        It would've been so cool if she had Xena-esque sounding theme music! It would kinda pay homage to that character who, ironically, was loosely based on Wonder Woman. Talk about coming full circle. :-)
